Chapter Seven- Losing Hope, Losing Faith
A\N- Yay! More chapters! This might take a while considering its the 10th of September and I'm gonna lose all ideas soon, so don't hate me. (Also school is in the way)
Juvia's Pov
I scream as another burning sphere of pain crashes into me. My face is wet, from my tears and my blood.
"This is for my father's legacy!" Clarindessa screams at me, and another wave of pain hits me.
"Aaahhh! St-stop! Please..." my words fade into a whisper as consciousness slowly leaves me, "Gray...don't hate me please..."
Gray's Pov
"Gaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh! Why can't we find her!" I scream out at the sky.
"Gray! Take a chill pill man!"
"SHADDUP Gajeel! I'm an ice mage! I don't need a 'chill pill'!" I glare at the dragon slayer that won't shut his mouth.
"Chill pills and ice mages have nothing to do with each other!" He yells at me, but we're distracted by a distant figure.
"hey..guy.....hello! Fairy Tail!" We look over to see Meldy running towards us, slowly coming into earshot. Panting she stops by Erza.
"What are you doin-" she notices me and her eyes flash, "Gray."
I flinch at the tone of her hate filled voice. I slightly wave. She kicks me and I have to drag myself all the way back over to them from like twelve miles away. By the time I get back her expression has changed. I can see she talked to my guildmates. Actually right now her, Wendy, and Lucy are having a conversation.
Meldy's Pov
"To be honest, I think he's gone insane about it!" Lucy says in a hushed voice.
"Yah, Lucy-chan is right! He keeps on screaming and freaking out!" Wendy adds.
"And he doesn't get enough sleep! He almost collapsed yesterday!"
"It's very worrying!"
"Wow, I had no clue he cared! I haven't seen her for the past few days! She got a job here as a life guard, but she hasn't been doing well, and she stop showing up on the third day! It's like she's missing." I tell them all I know about the situation at hand.
"Well, where was she staying?" Lucy asks, and I think.
"Hmm, I'm not sure, but the landlord and the guy who hired her are brothers, I think?"
"Well then! We should go find one now shouldn't we!" Gray snaps. He's twitching slightly, and looks like he's completely lost it. Before I know it, he's crumpled on the ground asleep.
Natsu smirks.
"You need to sleep" he says, and rubs his hand, " wow his skull is so thick."
"Natsu, why did you just...never mind." Lucy sighs.
I can never understand this guild.
Three Days Later
Juvia's Pov
Again I snap into my half conscious state. I feel like I've been sleeping for days, which I probably have. I wish I just could stop falling back asleep. The nightmares are getting worse, and are generating scenes that haven't happened...yet. Lucy and Erza telling me to never come back, Wendy and the exceeds telling me I'm a traitor. They get worse and worse.
Already I can feel the darkness of sleep taking me again. I try to fight it, but it's too strong.
Author-chan's Pov(or third person, however you think of it)
That night in the hotel that Gray and the others stayed in Lucy sat on her bed, worrying.
"I wish we had someway to at least contact Juvia, to tell her we're coming."
"Yah, that would be great."
"I wonder if she's badly hurt! We need to give her hope!"
Levy watches quietly as the other girls wish for impossible things. Suddenly she clutches her head, a memory she had been forced to forget returning.
"Levy-chan, are you okay?" Wendy asks the blue haired mage.
Levy grimaces, and then falls over, collapsing into a heap on the floor.
"Levy!" Lucy shouts.
Levy's Dream/Memory Pov
"Okay Levy, I'm going to teach you a spell that will be very helpful when you are much older. It is to help someone you really love. But if you say the words and use the stance at the same time there is no way to prevent yourself from casting it. So we're going to do the two parts separately." I look into my mom's sparkling eyes and nod.
"First follow me with the stance." She moves her right leg back far enough that she's almost level with the ground. Then she lifts her left arm straight to the sky, and holds her hand flat. Her right hand she has flat against the grassy ground.
I try to copy her, but my balance is off. I fall over, but finally, by the 33rd try, I get it right.
"Good job hon. Now we can move on to the words. Repeat after me." I smile again, and she starts the chant.
"For every lost and broken soul, let them breath without restraint,"
"For every lost and broken soul, let them breath without restraint,"
"Their hope is gone their strength is faint,"
"Their hope is gone their strength is faint,"
"Bring us visions of the times,"
"Bring us visions of the times,"
"Times that forever will have joy,"
"Times that forever will have joy,"
"RAINING HOPE! SCREAMING FAITH! CASTING LIGHT!"
"RAINING HOPE! SCREAMING FAITH! CASTING LIGHT!"
After yelling out the last sentence, my mother smiles at me sadly.
"You will forget today hon. I don't want you using the spell unless you have to. By the end of today this will all be gone," I try to protest, but she doesn't listen. Instead she is focusing on a distant cloud forming on the horizon, kicked up by speeding horses.
"Levy. Get inside." Her urgent voice scares me.
"Mommy?"
"Inside. Now. Go to daddy okay? If you can't find him, stick with your sister." I look at her, confused. But still I run inside, and look for my dad. I end up crashing into him.
"Hey darling, what's the rush?" He asks me, I struggle to make him out me down.
"Daddy *pant* horses *pant* mommy's scared! I don't know what's going on!" I gasp out. My dad sets me down. Just then I notice my sister behind him, looking concerned.
"Stay inside girls," my father commands. We stay inside, but watch from the window.
"Levy, what happened?" My older sister, though only by a year, asks me.
"Well, mommy and I were practicing magic, and she saw some guys on horses. Then she told me to come in and find you guys!" I say, still slightly breathless. She nods.
Outside I see my dad and mom confront the people on horseback. I would say men, but in the front is a woman, with dark hair and cold eyes. It seems like they're arguing. Suddenly one of the men gets off of his horse and starts threatening dad. I gasp, along with my sister. She whispers 'dad' and I press my face to the cold window. Then the fight starts. Mom and dad are easily overpowered, there are only two of them and at least twenty of the other people.
"Stay here Levy" my sister runs outside and throws herself at the shortest guy. He tosses her to the side, and she hits a tree hard. I gasp and tears start to trickle down my face. I can hardly watch. The woman smirks and orders her men to do something. They pick up my only sibling and throw her onto a horse. Then the terrible people...they....they ride away, over my parents. They get trampled by the many horses and I almost scream. My tears run faster. Once the cloud of dust has faded, I run outside to the side of my bloody parents.
"Mommy! Daddy! No, don't go to sleep! Please don't leave me yet! I still need you! No!" I sob into my mom's chest.
"Sweet Levy, don't...cry. When you need....spell...you...will remember..." her voice fades, her eyes dull, but before she leaves, she raises her hand, which starts to glow. She waves it and the day starts to fade. When her hand rests on the ground, it's facing the west. My tears burst forth harder than ever and I stay crying for the next day. Then I pick out the things I need the most, and walk to the west. I continue walking until I collapse three days later, in front of a large building. An old man comes out as my vision begins to darken, and his wrinkled face shows concern. I'm carried into the building and someone lies me down in a soft bed.
End Levy's Dream\Memory
I open my eyes, panting. My face is tear streaked. Wendy is sitting next to me, a surprised expression on her face, the green glow of her hands fading. Beside her, Lucy and Erza are surveying me with worried faces.
"Levy! You're okay!" Lucy smiles suddenly and hugs me.
"Wow, you make it seem like I died or something. I'm fine," I say, but my mind won't stop wandering back to what happened in my memory. Who attacked my parents? Who took the sister that I somehow don't remember? Why can't I remember anything correctly? Questions bombard me. Then I think of something important.
"I know what we can do for her!" I say hitting my head as I move really quickly.
"Nani?" The rest of the girls ask me.
(Juvia's Pov)
I hear the first real voices in what seems a long time outside the door of my cell.
"Can I.....there?" A faint, unfamiliar voice barely makes contact with my ears.
"There is no reason to," Clarindessa's voice cuts through sharply.
"But don't ....want.....pain?" The quieter girls voice is scattered, harder to hear.
"Are....enough..." even the cold woman's voice begins to fade again. I panic, fight the sleep. I accidentally crash my head against the stone wall, and everything becomes distant and scattered.
Retreating footsteps
A sliver of light
Dark eyes
'Is this it?' I think as I tumble into the darkness of my last minutes.
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Author-chan here to tell you that I finally finished this part. I have been kinda neglecting it, but I came back! Next chapter is undetermined. There is a couple of surprises for you guys! And no, I will not end the book after the upcoming big battle, I have more planned. Here's some unanswered questions you may want to ponder over. "Will Juvia die? What is going to happen? How does Levy not remember anything? Who is Levy's sister? Why can't Levy remember her sister's name? What was the conversation between Clarindessa and the mysterious person? Etc..."
