Romeo's Pov

I know what I'll do to protect them. I jump out the window, clutching the bomb to my chest. I hear Wendy scream and I wince.

BOOM

Wendy's Pov

"ROMEO!" I scream, and helplessly watch as the bomb explodes around him. A net of purple flames surrounds him, containing the blast.

As soon as it stops detonating, maybe even before, I jump out the window and rush to the crater in the earth. I heard myself for what I'm going to see, but I'm still shocked.

Erza's Pov

Oh my lord. I can't believe it. Neither can the rest of us, standing in shock, except for Wendy. She hardly knew him, they could have been friends. But...now.....

I'm suddenly flooded with memories. Simon, dying, sacrificing himself for me. Jellal, trying to protect me so many times after. Gray saving Juvia. Ultear saving us all. More and more.

A solitary tear makes it way down my cheek. I quickly wipe it away before it's noticed.

Lucy's Pov

Did he really just do that? Was there no other way? I walk to Wendy, silently, and place my hand on her shoulder, hug her. She's never had to experience a death like this, especially because of what we see.

Natsu's Pov

Romeo?

Gray's Pov

My thoughts change from saving Juvia to the problem at hand. We're all paralyzed, unsure, trying to deny it.

Jellal's Pov

Why death? Why is it always death? I have a trail of death following me, and I feel directly responsible for each one. He was a good boy, fun to be around. Why him?

Third Person Pov

Wendy stands at the edge of the gaping hole. Her hands are over her mouth, Lucy by her side. Everyone has wide eyes. They all eventually come to see what Wendy and Lucy are looking at.

Nothing. The hole is empty. There's no sign of what happened, besides the crater. Everything has been vaporized. No traces left.

Erza has a thin stream of tears running down her cheek, barely noticeable. Lucy and Wendy are sobbing. Jellal sits, head in his hands. Natsu stands completely shocked. Gray turns away, wiping his eyes multiple times.

There's only one question left.
