"You'll be fine Takashi"

"But what if she doesn't like Me? What if I drop her-"

"You'll be a great father to her. I know you will. Or else I've married the wrong man"

He laughed a bit as she kissed his cheek. She always knew how to calm him down.

Maxine "Max" Coldwell was her name.

Her purple lavender hair was almost down to her knees. Her sharp yet soft leaf green eyes looked into his grey eyes. She had light tan skin. She looked as if she was about 5'5

He pulled her close and put his hand on his stomach. They're gonna be parents. Soon.

Max was nervous about becoming a mother even though she already is one to the young free spirited girl she and the team adopted a while back.

Miki Avalor had a lot of energy of someone who is only 7 years old.

She had bright blonde hair and green eyes. She had paleish skin. She wasn't tall nor thin. She was a weirdo but loveable.

"Mom! Dad! Come look!" She called as she ran into the room. She was wearing her dark ocean blue dress with black shoes and a white shirt under her dress.

The two turned to her and smiles a bit"We'll be there in a bit sweetie" Max says softly.

Miki grins a bit as she nods"Kay!" She then ran off to who knows where. She always had some kind of thing to be doing. Important or just plain werid.

Max giggles lightly and turns to her husband"How long do you think it'll be untill she finds the bucket?" She asked

Miki had a thing for buckets. It didn't  matter where you put it. It always managed to get into her head. You'd think she would know better but she doesn't.

"Five minutes" he replied nuzzling his face into her neck a bit which made her laugh.

A loud clash of metal could be heard from one of the closet"It's stuck!!!" Miki yelled running around.

"Get back here you little monkey!" George also goes by Geo yelled. He was Maxine's adoptive brother.

Max giggles more as she heard them run around the castle. "So how much longer untill Kira is here?" The male asked

"Just a few more days" the female responded. To be honest she was scared to give birth on the ship.

Her mind always went to the worst case scenario. "Don't worry love. You'll be fine." He said with a soft smile.

She couldn't help but smile back at him. "You always know how to make me fell better Shiro"

He grins at her"Of course I do. I'm amazing" he made himself laugh. "You are such a dork. But I love that"

It was only a three days untill it hit. The paladins were out on a rescue mission after they got a emergency signal from an calm planet.

Or so they thought. They soon got attacked by one of Zarkon's robots. But during this time Max went into labor.

She didn't want to bother anyone or the paladins and tried to do this by herself. Luckily Miki saw her mother in pain and ran off to find Allura Geo or even Coran to see if they could help.

When they heard the news they ran to Max's side as fast as they could. Max looked at them with tearful eyes and let out a grunt. Geo held his sister's hand tightly. Coran had towels.

Miki was a bit scared for her mother and her new baby sister. She knew that the others had to know as soon as they got back.

"Great work guys." Shiro said over the comic-com. "Wooh! We did it!" Lance cheered grinning like a dork.

"Papa!" A child voice said over the hero's celebration. "Miki? What is?" Shiro asked. She would rarely call him papa.

"Mommy is having the baby!" She yelled"You have to get back here!" She soon logged off and ran back to her mother.

The paladins were shocked at the sudden news. They quicky headed back to the castle. "I though she wasn't due for a couple more days!" Hunk exclaimed.

"I though so too" Shiro replied as the rushed into the castle. "Come on guys!" Miki yelled waving at them from a cross the room.

They ran over to her and followed her to Max's room. When they arrived they could hear a small cry of a little girl.

They walked into the room and couldn't help but smile. Max looked over at them looking very tired. "Hey guys..meet Kira."

Shiro walks over to her. He had a big smile on his face. He kissed her head"She's beautiful. Just like her mother"

Max smiles softly"Hehe. She has your eyes you know?" She beamed. Kira had her mother's purple lavender hair and her father's grey eyes but you couldn't tell thanks to her eyes being closed.

She looked peaceful in her mother's arms. "You want to hold her?" She looked up at him. "C-can i?"

"Of course. You're her father." She respond softy handing over Kira to her father. Shiro held her smiling even more.

Lance started to fan girl over her as Keith tried to calm down his boyfriend. Pidge was excited to be this baby's space aunt. So was Allura.

Everything was going well...untill Max looked unnaturally pale. With worried in their faces the heros asked if she was alright.

She just smiled at them softly"Yea Im fine..dont worry about me. I'm just glad..i got to my baby.." she laughed softy as she kissed Kira's head softly...before closing her eyes.

"Max?" His voice sounded worried and a bit scared. "Maxine?" He said once more. No reply back from her. A thought 'No please. Don't...don't tell me..'

Geo looked away from this. Miki had a tearful smile on her face as she climbs on the bed. "Mama? Wake up" she gently shakes her mother's body.

She didn't move. Not one bit. Shiro held back tears as he looked at her"Maxine..don't go..please" his voice trembled. Miki kept trying to wake max up hopping that shd was just sleeping.

Allura covered her mouth. Lance hugged Keith. The whole team was heart broken over the death of the new mother. Pidge hugged Hunk to try and hide her tears.

Geo picked up Miki and started to take her away. "No! Mommy will wake up! She will!" She yelled crying now

Geo looked at her. His eyes showed pain and remorse. "I'm sorry Miki but your mother..shes..shes.."

He choked on his own words. He couldn't tell her that her mother just died! She would be in a deep deep depression.

Miki looked at the others for some answers. They could tell it in her eyes. She didn't know what was going on. She wanted to know.

The paladins soon formed a group hug. They were all full of tears and heartbroken. Kira soon opened her eyes and looked at them.

Max was right. She had her father's grey eyes. It took them a while to leave the room and head to their own. Miki stayed with Keith and Lance.

Shiro couldn't believe that his wife was just alive and smiling. Laughing. Having a great time. Just a few days before.

He couldn't take it. He looked at Kira tears streaming down his face. Kira puts her small hand on his cheek.

"I promise..ill keep you safe. Untill the day I died." He said holding her close. He had made the same promise to her mother when they first got together.
