LMB 29
29: Letter.
Hey Jeongin, my beloved brother.
Sorry for my handwriting. Minho doesn't say it's bad, but he often frowns at my papers so I know he thinks it is. It could also be that his standards are insane. Only perfect is good enough for him.
Anyway.
It's cool to hear that your wife and the baby are fine. Kind of terrifying that you guys just have babies here in olden times, even without properly sanitized hospitals and doctors who specialize in delivering babies.
I suppose the magic balances out that equation.
Yongbok also sent a letter, but it sucked. It was like ten words and most of them were curses. I had to repeat them but they wouldn't be good for the baby. I sent him a four page long letter that he can use as an example while crafting the next one. I won't hold my breath expecting a thank-you for it, though.
It's been much the same here in, the Geumgangsan. Old Man Jinyoung had a mild mental breakdown over my flute playing the other day. Apparently it's against the rules to walk behind him and play goofy music whenever he takes a step forward. I stopped whenever he stopped, it was actually really funny. A few disciples had to leave the courtyard because they thought so too and didn't want him to notice.
On a side note, I have now copied the rules of Lee clan three times, and can now officially recall ninety percent of them at will. I have found it to be a very useful skill when speaking with any of the elders. Every time they throw a rule at me, I respond by throwing another at them.
The majority of them are in disagreement. I am not sure how these people live.
In any case.
Minho sends his greetings as well. He has been playing a lot of music lately too. Many of those monotone, sad Lee songs. And staring off into nothingness. I do that a lot, too. It is the melting snow, I guess. Makes your eyes go out of focus when you look at it for too long.
Sun feels kind of not warm around here right now. Can that happen, out of nowhere? Isn't that a bit too unfair, for the sun to just stop warming you all of a sudden?
Jeongin, there are moments when I feel like life is essentially unjust.
Please send more of those sweet rice cakes with the next letter! I ate all of the ones you sent immediately.
Love, Jisung.
