Part 6: Anger

Lori

Rage. That was all that I felt as I was being driven away from my family's...no former family's home. I don't understand. What I did was right. Lincoln should've stuck by my side yet he decided to follow that brainless idiot's side once again. Ugh. I should've been an only child then my life would've been so much simpler.

Once I get out of here, I will hunt down that no good twerp and teach them never to disobey me. Besides I'm the oldest so it makes sense that I deserve that dress. Eventually, I looked out the window and noticed how many people were out today. They were smiling and many were holding bags from the numerous stores that Royal Woods has. Speaking of which, there was sale going on the next day which I won't be able to attend not to mention that I'm leaving Bobby unchecked.

I love Bobby, but someone had to be there to make sure that he'll never cheat on me. Besides there were many girls ready to claim him as their own including Carol Pringrey. Before I could rant about her in my head, I noticed that we were close to arriving at juvie.

"Be glad that you're under eighteen because if I had a choice...you would be going to the jail." One of the police officers said.

"Please. I'll be out of here in a couple of hours tops." I said which earned some laughs.

"That's the funniest joke that I've heard all day. Your family wants nothing to do with you after what you did. And even if they did...they would never allow you to be close with them thanks to your violent actions." The other officer said. We arrived at the bottom level and one of the officers grabbed my left arm and pulled me out of the car.

"Hey. Don't pull me too hard." I said. The officer ignored me and just lead me inside where I noticed a desk with lots of chairs and a single TV on each side. It had lots of rooms, but I was more focused on the woman behind the desk who quickly looked up to stare at my face then back to the papers that were near her.

"Okay. What is she in for?" The woman asked.

"Assault, Battery, Resisting Arrest and Attempted Murder." The officer said.

"Wow. She sounds like a real piece of work...Take her to get processed then you can go. Maybe get a load off by dealing with her." The woman said. The officer nodded and took me to the room right beside her and left. I was inside the room for a couple of minutes before the woman came inside with another officer who had a stern expression on his face.

"So this is the latest inmate?" The officer said.

"Yep. Based on what she's charged for...she's going to have a short sprint here then head over to the big house. They didn't tell me much other than that, but I'm sure that she'll tell us the information that we need." The woman said.

"I hope so." The officer said as they turned their attention to me.

"Can you tell us your name?" The woman asked.

"My name is Lori." I said.

"Lori? No last name?" The woman asked.

"My family disowned me." I said. I had expected some kind of sympathy, but was surprised when the officer spoke.

"That doesn't exactly surprise me anymore. Parents don't want to be connected to bad kids who could possibly end up being career criminals." The officer said. I was shocked at that statement since I wasn't going to be a criminal. I was going to marry Bobby, have lots of kids and have a successful career when I was older.

"That's not true my family loves me." I said.

"I'm sure that they did before you attempted to murder someone. Your parents probably didn't want to expose your siblings or neighbors to someone who would try to kill someone for some messed up reason." The officer said.

I was silent after that and managed to sit in the waiting area after getting processed and getting my mug shot taken. I wish that I could use my phone to distract myself, but I dropped it when I was taken by the police. Great. Now how am I going to tell Bobby my version of what happened.

It doesn't matter....soon, I'll be free and everything will go back to normal. If only I realized that nothing will ever be the same when I destroyed Lincoln's left eye.

Maria Santiago

I was staring at Lincoln wondering how I could be so blind to allow Lori to be in my house. I knew something was off about her when I first met her, but I decided to trust my son's words. But it seems like I made a major mistake. As I lifted my eyes off Lincoln, I noticed Carol Pringrey who was comforting my son.

I could tell that she would be the perfect girlfriend for him compared to Lori. She wouldn't make him ditch having female friends or try to control his every action.

"Mom, Why are you looking at Carol and Bobby for?" My daughter said to me.

"To be honest, I'm wondering if they will get together since Carol is the exact opposite of who Lori truly is." I said honestly.

"You're not going to force them together are you?" My daughter said.

"I'm not Lori, Ronalda. They will come to like each other by themselves in time besides I can't force them to fall in love. Like Lori shouldn't have done with Lincoln and yourself." I stated.

"That's true, but...I have a feeling like I won't be the only one who likes him." Ronalda said.

"If there is...you can both come to a situation to the problem at hand together. Not to mention that there are no laws stopping harems from forming." I teased causing my daughter to blush. After that...we spent some time at the hospital before we all had to leave. I knew that this would be a changing point to my children's lives, but it's up to them if the changes would be for the worst or the better.

Hope you enjoy the chapter...Bye 👋
