chapter 15

The siege rages on. The riders of Rohan get closer everyday the siege rages on.

But today, Y/n gets a feeling they will arrive.

He has the troops set up more traps and prepare the surprises.

Y/n's feeling is proven to be true. The roaring sounds of horses is heard.

Y/n: Their here.

The riders of Rohan come into view. And their riding hard.

Y/n gets his troops into battle positions, making it seem like this would be a head on battle. And making his troops run around like their confused just to give the riders a sense of dominance in this engagement.

The riders begin passing the first phase of the gauntlet they will have to ride through.

Y/n blows a war horn signaling Dush to begin.

Dush hears the horn from his hiding place in the trees. He jumps down from a tree and lights a trail of grog, this trail goes across the field.

As the back line of the riders are over the large pool of grog at the end. It ignites, claiming the lives of the riders over it.

The riders don't stop and continue charging for Y/n's lines.

With another blow of the horn It signals Kruk who is hiding in the woods with Y/n's entire cavalry force.

Kruk leads the cavalry out of the woods and charges into the backs of the riders, trapping them between Y/n's front lines and the caragors.

The final part of the gauntlet needs no signal. It required patience.

The riders continue on their crash course to Y/n's lines, completely unaware of the deception.

The riders are close to Y/n's lines. But as the front hits a patch of ground. They fall down to a spike pit.

This pit forces the riders to split off into two sections. Splitting their forces while Y/n maneuvers his troops into a large box formation.

The riders of Rohan find themselves encircled and dying rapidly.

The remaining defenders of Dol Amroth decide that it is now or never. They open the gate and pour out to charge into Y/n's back lines.

But Y/n prepared for it. He knew that they were running low on food and water. And that this final offensive was likely.

Snafu fired a massive volley with every archer in the armor at the charging Gondorians. After the volley softened them up, Dushrat leads a counter charge with the ologs and shock troops.

Y/n knows that defeating Rohan here will ensure he can march through their lands with little effort.

The outcome of the battle is ensured. Y/n couldn't hope for a better outcome. In just one battle, he destroyed the main Rohan army.

The hope of Gondor now rest in Minas Tirith. The west of Gondor is now under Y/n's control. Y/n sends a message to Dazom, asking him to send the Haradrim troops to secure Arnor.

Y/n was planning his next move. The sky turns as black as night and the orcs look at the sky in fear.

The witch king flies overhead on a drake.

He lands in the middle of the camp and the orcs back away in fear.

Witch king: Bring me Y/n.

Y/n rushed to meet with the witch king.

Y/n: I am Y/n my lord.

Witch king: Sauron requests you to meet with him at Barad Dur.

Y/n: Of course. I shall depart immediately.

Witch king: Get on the drake.

Y/n was surprised, but listened.

The witch king gets on and the drake takes off towards Barad Dur.

It takes far less time flying on a drake vs riding there.

They land on the top of Barad Dur. The door into the tower opens and Sauron steps out. Y/n walks forward and kneels.

Sauron steps in front of Y/n and goes into his original form.

Sauron: Stand.

Y/n gets up and looks at Sauron.

Sauron: I expected this war to last much longer. I thought that your victory at Cair Andros was luck. But you took Pelagir and now Dol Amroth. Securing the majority of Gondor. But yet I am confused.

Y/n: How so?

Sauron: If Osgiliath fell, you would have far more troops at you're disposal, why do you refuse to take it? Is it a strategy of yours?

Y/n: Somewhat. Originally it is for deception.

Sauron: Let me guess. *pauses* Now it's for glory?

Y/n: I do wish to have the credit for our victory over Gondor.

Sauron: And what could possess you to do that?

Y/n: I...I was...hoping that after the war, you'd make me the lord of man.

Witch king: You forget you're place!

Sauron: Shut up, witch king. I asked the question and he answered.

Witch king: Forgive me, master.

Sauron: I have lived for a long time, I have served Morgoth. But the only downside to the orcs, are their lack of tactics. I believe that is why we have failed before. Strength only gets you so far in a conquest.

Y/n watched Sauron as he walked a circle around him.

Sauron: I'll make you a deal. If you manage to defeat the armies of man. You can rule all of them, including the Haradrim.

Y/n: Thank you, my master.

Sauron: I'm not quite finished. I know from experience that the armies of Elves and Dwarves will combine to stop me. If you manage to beat them as well, you can rule them as well.

Y/n was surprised to hear this, but didn't complain.

Y/n: Thank you.

Sauron: It's settled then. From this point on, I declare you the grand general of Mordor. Do not fail me.

Y/n bowed.

A drake flew up and landed right next to Y/n.

Sauron: I am also granting you this drake. It should give you a new "angle" on your future battles.

Y/n bowed and got on the drake. He didn't know what he was doing, but the drake seemed to understand the slightest hints on what it was supposed to do.

Y/n flew back to his camp and celebrated with his troops for a night. In the morning his army would sail back to Mordor and join the frontal assault.
