This is Her?!

Horus POV

A loud crash awoke me from my slumber, not knowing who or what could be here to pay me a visit I decided to go and see what was now in my temple. Taking my time because Ra knows I had plenty of it I made my way through the countless halls. However when I found myself in the main room of the temple I was very surprised to see a mortal female sprawled out in the middle of the room. Shaking my head because I did not believe what my eyes were trying to comprehend I walked over to her.

It was a woman all right, a mortal female one. Looking down I could see she was in a long dark blue dress that looked to be something one of my kind would wear. Why would a mortal be wearing the clothing of a god?

"It was the only way I could get her here. I gave her one of my older garments." A familiar female voice calls out to me.

Looking up from the woman I see Hathor come forward. I hadn't seen her since I had been cursed so why did she decide to make an appearance now? Was this just another trick that Set had setup and now Hathor was helping him as well?

"Stop looking at me like that, I don't have a lot of time. It took my years to get this spirit here and I am not going to let you waste time. Take her and hide her deep in the temple where Set cannot find her." Hathor tells me as she looks around as if she was making sure no one else could see us.

"Why would I do that? Even if I did what purpose would it prove?" I question as I stand in front of the mortal woman's body.

"You fool, this is the spirit I wrote the letter about, did you really ignore such an important piece of information on you own curse?!" Hathor says raising her hands up as she tries to keep her tone down.

Though I did read the scroll I didn't believe what was written on it. Not one thought in my mind made me think that there was a mortal who had all the qualities listed on that scroll yet now there was a mortal woman on the floor before Hathor and myself. Sighing I pick up the mortal and hold her in my arms just as I turn to do what Hathor had already instructed me to do she stops me.

"This was the only way that I was able to try and help you. If Set ever found out I can only imagine what he would do to me." Hathor says lowering her eyes from my face.

"We'll never know, what do I do when the woman wakes up? Obviously, I don't think she will be in the happiest of moods." I comment as I look down at the woman in my arms.

"Charm her, if not be prepared to stay in this temple the rest of your days." Hathor says as she disappears from my sight.

Charm her? A mortal woman? For some loop hole in the curse this doesn't sound like the smartest way to break the curse. Closing my eyes, I shake my head not being able to believe that predicament I am in. Walking towards a room that the mortal should be safe in I can feel her begin to move in my arms. This wasn't going to be good if she woke up and I was still carrying her. Once we reached the room I laid her down on a bed. She looked peaceful for a few moments, then she turned her head to face me and her eyes opened. Never in my life had I ever seen eyes so blue, it looked as though she had trapped the Niles inside her eyes. Tilting her head as if to remember what had happened to her she stares at me.

"Who are you?" she questions me with a soft tone.

"I am Horus, god of the air and kingship." I answer trying to sound like my godly self.

Then she fell back asleep. I didn't know if she believed me or not but as long as she was asleep and in the temple, she was safe from Set. Standing I take one quick look at her and see that a piece of jewelry has appeared on her neck. A necklace, not just any necklace though, a symbol of Ma'at. Goddess of justice. This had to be another sign from Hathor that with this mortal's help I would be free from my curse and be able to find my mother and in turn help her find all my father.

Hours had passed and I sat there beside her bed waiting for the moment she would wake up and I would have to explain everything to her. Hearing her groan and start to move in the bed let me know that the moment had finally come. Turning back to look behind me I see her sit up in the bed and look around with amazement showing in her eyes.

"Am I dead?" she asks looking around but apparently not seeing me.

"No, death is not even close to where you are." I answer as I stand up beside the bed. "You are in my temple."

"What? This isn't real. Seriously this has to be a dream." She says and her tone is a bit panicked.

"It is not a dream mortal, that I can promise you." I tell her trying to calm her down but that doesn't seem to be working. "Do not fear me, I am Horus."

"No way! Horus isn't real! None of the gods from ancient Egypt are real!" she shouts as she jumps off the bed and runs to where the bed is no in between her and I.

"None of us are real? Now that is blasphemy! I am Horus god of air and Kingship. You are just a mere mortal trapped in my temple." I say louder than her shout.

"You are delusional!" she screams and makes a run for the hall.

Well...that did not go well. Running after the mortal I knew that I had to convince her that I was who I said I was. How would I be able to do that though? I didn't have any of my powers or my wings. I had no real proof to shower her besides the temple. Just as I move to turn a corner I bump right into her and both of us fall to the ground. Picking myself up I look over at her and see that she has tears in her eyes.

"Why do you cry?" I question her as I walk to her side.

"There is no way any of this is real, I have to be dead that is the only reasonable explanation." She answers as she looks up at me with tears running down her eyes.

"If you were dead Anubis would be here, not I." I reply to her and she looks at me confused. "What now?"

"Why would my dog be here if I were dead?"

"Your dog?"

"Yes, I have a dog named Anubis, why would he die too? My poor little pet will die without me though." She says bringing her hands to her face and crying more.

This mortal named her pet after Anubis, the god of the afterlife. Oh I am sure he would just love to hear that. Taking the woman's arms in my I stand her up straight and make her look at me. At first she looked surprised and then that quickly turned into fear.

"Woman, I have already told you not to fear me. What must I do to prove to you I am who I say?" I ask and she raises her eye brow at me.

"I don't know, if you are a god then why are you here in your temple? Shouldn't you be off doing god things?" she asks as she tries to pull out of my hold but I don't allow her to.

"I have been cursed by my uncle-" I start but she interrupts me.

"Set? The same one who killed your father, his brother, Osiris and spread his body through out the world for Isis to find and try to put together so he could be the god of the underworld." She quickly tells me in a matter of fact way.

For someone who didn't believe I was a god she did seem to know my past as well as the other gods past pretty well.

"Yes...how did you know all that? You do not look Egyptian to me." I comment as she now looks at me offended.

"I'm not, I'm an American. However, I have studied Ancient Egypt since I was nine. So I know quite a bit about the mythology." She tells me as she manages to untangle herself from my grasp.

"Mythology, woman I am standing before you. I am Horus!" I state firmly to her.

"You have no proof, you just wear some weird clothes and claim to be a god, any man can do that." She says with a shrug.

This woman was not only amazing me but making me angry at the same time. What in the world would I have to do?! Just then one of the worshippers who had been with me for a few years now walks in and bows before me. Looking to the mortal woman I point out that I literally have a woman bowing down before me.

"Stockholm syndrome."

"What? She isn't my slave or anything like that just a worshipper as were her ancestors before her." I point out trying to keep a calm tone.

"You really aren't helping your case." She says and then looks down at her clothes. "Did you take my clothes?! Really?!"

"No, that had nothing to do with me. That was all Hathor, she said it was the only way to get you here." I start to explain as the worshipper comes to my side and smiles up at me.

"Well isn't hard to tell what this worshipper was used for, come on, all men are just the same." She says with a sigh as she turns and walks out of the room.

"Mortal! Get back here! Don't make me come after you!" I yell at her.

"Or what? You are just some crazy guy and I am getting out of here. Have fun weirdo!" she has the nerve to yell out as she keeps walking.
