The Curse
"Great god Horus, your own father has opened many avenues for the mortals, including the realm of the underworld. You may have defeated me once nephew but now with the curse I place upon you. There is no way you will ever fly through the skies as a god again." Set grinned as he looked down at an ancient book he had found eons ago but never looked inside and used the ancient spells inscribed upon its pages.
Hathor, Goddess of love could hear all what Set was saying and closed her eyes beginning a small spell of her own. A loop hole in the curse so that Horus may once again be the god he truly was.
"Born pure of spirt, pure of heart and pure of mind. Come forward spirit child, when you time upon this earth has come, go to Horus, and release him from this dreaded curse. Free the lord of the sky and forever be by his side." Hathor chanted as sand whirled in her hand and the small image of a woman nodded and bowed accepting the goddess's spell.
The goddess smiled as the vision of the woman dispelled in the sand. Set may think he had won the power over Osiris and his family but knew that Horus would fight him every step of the way. That being the reason he casted the spell over Horus. Not only had Set murdered his own brother and spread his body part all around the world for Isis to find but now he had made sure that Horus wouldn't be able to stand up to him.
Walking to the balcony Hathor watched, powerless, as the once great God Horus began to become a mortal. His powers no longer able to come at his command. Confused and disoriented Horus ran into his own temple for his own good. As Set joined Hathor and watched his nephew in amusement he casted yet another spell he found in the book.
A spell of age, if Horus ever did leave his temple he would begin to age rapidly. This was a trap, one that Set knew would drive Horus crazy over the years or at least until his mother returned and no doubt tried to free him herself. Hathor knew she couldn't say anything or Set might cast a spell upon her. So instead she stood beside him silently and watched as Horus fell to the ground. He was only sleeping now but now that he was mortal would he be able to survive?
~Horus POV
Centuires have passed, and I have sat here in my own temple wasting a way. Though I do not have my powers and live as a mortal I do not age as long as I do not leave the temple. Set cursed me, it only took my followers a century to finally figure that out and told me the news. This was not such a shock to me since I knew how Set was and since he managed to murder my father, his brother, he would have no problem cursing me.
So here I sit, day after day in my temple. Built for me by the mortals when I was a god. To think that this is all I will ever do makes it all the more tempting to step onto the steps of the temple and whether away. I cannot do that though, I cannot let Set win. Somehow I will find a way out of this realm and I will get my revenge again on my uncle.
Few mortals know of the portal and those that have found it have not been able to break the curse. There is a way, or so I was told in a scroll passed on from one of Hathor's followers to me. The curse could be broken by someone pure. Pure of mind, pure of spirit and pure of heart. Where in the world did that goddess think I was going to find a mortal that fit that description. I was as good as dead. Never had I met even the kindest mortal who fit that description. No doubt it was just a cruel joke from Hathor since she would know if such a mortal did exist.
"When I get out of here uncle, I will kill you and spread your body throughout the underworld where no one will go searching for you." I yell out into the temple.
Taking the flask, I drink until my eyes begin to feel heavy. What else is there to do...even in my temple?
~Dasia's POV
Egypt! I can't believe that I am actually here! It's taken me a long time but finally I had saved up enough for that for my 27th birthday I gave myself this trip to Egypt! Looking at the map the tour guides had given us I could barely contain my excitement as I looked from the pyramids to the temples. For some reason I felt like Egypt was a long lost home to me...which made no sense since I didn't have any Egyptian heritage at all. At least when I looked through my family tree I didn't.
First temple was Edfu, according to the internet this was the temple of Horus. It was massive! No doubt when Imhotep constructed this he did so to please the god Horus. I highly doubt that he wasn't impressed. Then again, I'm not Horus...that just sounds weird now that I think about it. Horus wasn't real, none of the gods were but it was still cool in my mind to read about them. Not to mention somehow they were all related...ok once again that is a little weird.
Walking through the temple and trying to keep up with my tour I tried to look around as much as I could. As we went deeper into the tunnel I may or may not have gotten a little lost. Ok so I did get lost but I figured I could easily find my way back to the tour group...I was wrong.
"Great, first day here and not only have I lost my group but I have no idea where I am." I say to no one since there is literally no one around me when I begin to hear soft voice.
'Pure of heart'
I swear I could hear someone behind me. Running the that direction and holding on tight to my bag just in case I needed to use it as a weapons I try to catch up with the voice that I heard. When I got there where I swear I heard someone...there was no one there. Just lit hallway just like the once I had just come from.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" I call out praying someone will hear me. "Please I don't mean any harm and sorry if you can't understand me but I'm lost and I need to get out of here."
'Pure of mind'
I heard that voice again but it was coming from another hallway now. Turning and making a run back the other way I began to feel like a mouse trapped in a maze.
"Please, I am begging you I don't want to be stuck in here over night. If your are a spirit or whatever please just help me get outta here." I beg and I fall to my knees and begin to cry.
'Pure of spirit'
That's when I saw a bright light. Looking up I wiped my tears and stood up. The light beckoned me to follow it and for some strange reason I did. Without hesitation I follow the bight light down the halls as if I had been here in ancient times. The light was soft and not harmful to my eyes at all. Once we got to our destination though the light disappeared into a wall. Looking around confused I didn't know what to do but I did feel calm for some strange reason. Looking back to the wall, all the sudden the once hieroglyphics were now written in English...how the? Shaking my head I decided to read them out loud.
"Pure of heart, pure of mind, pure of spirit. Now is my time to cross the line." I barely finish the words when a bright light envelopes me and then everything goes black.
