Chapter 8

"-NGHWA!? SEONGHWA?!"

Seonghwa broke out of his happy daydream and stuck his head out the loft window to see who was calling him.

Down below he saw his father talking to a man and apparently Yeosang was the one who had been calling for him.

"WHAT?!"

"OH THERE’S YOUR BITCH ASS! GET OVER HERE!"

"Language," The Duke of Sacheon scolded his nephew.

"Sorry."

Seonghwa rolled his eyes at the fact that he could still hear Yeosangs loud voice but went down anyway.

He was a bit surprised to see a lot more people around but it was understandable since a lot of people wanted to set up early.

"Yes Father?" Seonghwa asked once he got down, knowing that the only reason Yeosang was looking for him was because he was asked to.

"This is the Viscount of Gwanak, Sir Lee Taeyong," his father introduced to the man that stood before him. "He is the brother to the man that has put the large sum of money towards you but his brother could not attend so he has come on his behalf."

Seonghwa nodded politely and shook the man’s hand.

"Thank you for coming on behalf of your brother."

"Not a problem. As a single man, I have nothing better to do anyway so this will be enjoyable."

Seonghwa laughed at the statement and nodded.

"I’m sorry but I have to get going," Seonghwa explained, noticing Hongjoong struggling with a giant box.

"I look forward to seeing your racing then."

Seonghwa smiled once again before leaving his father to talk with the Viscount of Gwanak. He walked towards the tiny male and nearly laughed to see him struggling.

"Need help?" Seonghwa asked, approaching Hongjoong from the back.

"Ah, hello Seonghwa. If you don’t mind, then yes please."

Seonghwa easily picked up the box and Hongjoong followed behind like a lost puppy. Well, not exactly lost since he had managed to figure out how to get from place to place in the area but in the sense that he was adorably following behind.

Everyone would be staying in a house that was built for that specific occasion and could hold around five hundred people. It was more like a castle than anything else and everyone had been assigned a room except for some of the workers who were sharing rooms.

"What’s in here?" Seonghwa asked, referring to the box.

"I believe it’s some of your things."

Seonghwa nodded and carried it to a room that Hongjoong had said was his. It was on the second floor of the giant castle-like building and Seonghwa was glad because he really didn’t want to walk up so many flights of stairs if it was on another floor.

They were just about to open a door when a door beside their room flung open and a tall male with light brown hair and an adorable smile walked out, laughing loudly.

"Get some sleep, darling! I’m sure you’re exhausted!"

He closed the door and turned to be met with Seonghwa and Hongjoong.

"Oh hello!" he chirped, full of energy.

"Hello. Your partner must be really tired from travelling."

"Oh they are," he responded with a little frown but soon smiled widely. "But it’s okay because sleep is the answer!"

Hongjoong nodded with a smile, remembering the sleep he had in the carriage. He opened the door while Seonghwa conversed with the new person about their travels and carefully took the box from Seonghwa's grip while the Lord spoke.

He examined the room and noticed it was quite large and could hold up to three people if necessary. The bed was grand and had a variety of fancy pillows and soft sheets.

Seonghwa entered moments after, closing the door behind him and scanned the room, satisfaction displayed on his features.

Hongjoong watched his every move from beside the bed and when Seonghwas head turned to scan the bed, they made eye contact and a soft smile came across the taller males features.

"Joong?"

"Yeah?"

"Remember I said to meet me by the carriage later?"

"Yeah."

"Well that won’t be necessary," Seonghwa said, taking long strides to the bedside.

Hongjoong didn’t know what to do. Butterflies erupted in him and he wanted to back up once he saw the taller approach him but he stayed grounded. Seonghwa sat on the edge of the bed and grabbed his smaller hand, pulling him close.

Hongjoong now stood between Seonghwa's legs and their faces were way too close.

"Wh-what are you doing?" Hongjoong stuttered.

"Hmm? What AM I doing? Why don’t we find out, hmm?"

Hongjoong dumbly nodded and stared into the male’s beautiful eyes. Park Seonghwa really was a work of art.

"First of all, why don’t I start by saying that I know what I’m about to say is considered an abomination and can possibly be punishable by death."

"So why will you say it?" Hongjoong asked a bit of worry etched onto his face.

"Because times will always be hard and time will eventually change and someone has to start the process of change so I choose to do something instead of nothing."

"Well then go ahead and say it."

"Kim Hongjoong," Seonghwa whispered, making the male that stood before him turn a tiny bit red. "I have known you for a short period of time but I have always known you existed from the first day seven years back. And even though I never spoke to you, I was always intrigued by you."

Seonghwa cleared his throat a bit, intently staring at the smaller male.

"You’re a hard-working person and I have never seen you grumble and all this time I never knew why I was feeling this way until when you fell asleep on me in the carriage did it finally click. The day we went to get the horseshoes, I admitted to myself that I found you stunning but these feelings never made sense until now."

Hongjoong wanted the floor to swallow him whole. How could THE Park Seonghwa say such things to him, someone way below status?

"So, Joong-ie, I just want to say that I find you very attractive."

Seonghwa let go of the smaller’s hand and stood up, making a move to head to the door but a hand grabbing his suit vest and yanking him back stopped the movement.

"Hwa."

Seonghwa smiled at the way his nickname rolled off Hongjoongs tongue and turned to face the male who stared at the ground.

"Look at me and speak," Seonghwa said, placing a hand on Hongjoongs jaw and tilting it upward to face him.

Hongjoong suddenly couldn’t form a sentence and he just stared at the taller in silence.

A gentle smile formed on Seonghwas face and he removed his hand from where it had still been holding onto Hongjoongs face.

"It’s okay. You don’t have to respond to me. I just wanted to tell you."

Seonghwa walked out the door and headed into the hall, leaving Hongjoong frozen in the spot. Something within the younger snapped him awake and he dashed out the room, lucky enough to find the taller only a few paces from the room.

He ran and wrapped his arms around the taller’s waist and dragged him back to the room with all his strength.

"Hongjoong?"

"Hwa, please listen!"

Seonghwa stayed still from where he was being held. He was now seated on the shorters lap since Hongjoong managed to drag them back to the bed and collapse on it.

"I was just surprised by what you said. You know, because you’re a Lord and everyone expects you to get married to a Lady or Duchess and produce more Parks. So you saying that really made me malfunction and I didn’t know how to respond," Hongjoong rushed out. "But I like you too. Like I really, really truly like you."

Seonghwa raised an eyebrow in slight surprise. He had figured the younger may have liked him but hearing it first hand was still surprising.

"But even so, we would never be accepted if you considered making a move. You will most likely still be forced to marry someone and create your own family."

"No," Seonghwa whispered, turning to face Hongjoong. His knees going on either side of the male’s thighs, one hand settling on the male’s face and the other on his shoulder. "I have been thinking and I realized something."

"What would that be?" Hongjoong asked, curiosity filling him.

"I won’t tell you. But I do know that if my Father disagrees with my life choices, there is one thing that will force him to accept me no matter what," Seonghwa stated proudly.

"Your career?"

"Nope. I won’t tell you just yet. I have to make you mine first."

Heat flared onto Hongjoong's face and he looked away with a cough. He couldn’t believe it.

Seonghwa wanted to be with him? A Lord wanted to be with him?

Crazy.

It didn’t sound believable and the time they were living in made everything even more complex. How were they supposed to be together when the majority of the people believed you got married to reproduce and neither of them could do that?

"But that’s not possible," Hongjoong argued, disappointment gracing his face.

"It is possible but it’s a bit risky. I’m willing to take the risk, I don’t know about you."

"There’s nothing I have to lose because I have nothing," Hongjoong said with a shrug. "So I am willing as well."

Seonghwa smiled and leaned closer to the male, their faces a mere centimetre apart. Seonghwa looked into Hongjoongs eyes as a form of permission and a slight nod of the head was all it took for Seonghwa to aggressively kiss the younger.

His lips moved against the younger’s ones quickly and almost needily. Neither of them having experience but trying as best as they could. Seonghwas tongue grazing the younger’s lip in a desperate way to deepen their kiss causing Hongjoong to gasp at the strange feeling.

Seonghwa smirked as he devoured the younger’s lips, their bodies now flush against each other as Seonghwa held Hongjoongs head. The feeling was inexplicable. It felt so nice and Seonghwa couldn’t imagine doing it with someone else.

"SEONGHWA?!" a voice called, the door being thrown open.

The two flew apart as quickly as possible but it was too late. They had already been seen.
