It looked like an average night in Acmetropolis, but then a strange airship appeared from the sky and swooped down

Inside the ship was an army of hooded figures, leading them was a strange bat lady

Black Velvet: Go have some fun, boys! And remember, the time of darkness is ours!

the hooded fighters then morphed into spheres and went down into the city, heading for the Series 5 Radar dish

Black Velvet: The Acmetropolis Series 5 radar, and now it's mine!

the hooded fighters then merged together to carry the radar into the airship while Black Velvet headed for the control room, where scientists including Witch Blair was there

Black Velvet: *pushes the door open* Hello everybody

Scientist: Huh??

Witch Blair: Black Velvet!

Black Velvet: Blairy! Sweetheart! Good to see you

Witch Blair: What's with the costume? The darkness?? Answer me!

Black Velvet: Oh, you'll find out soon.

Meanwhile at the Loonatics Headquarters

Sonic: *snoring*

Duck: *on the phone* Hello superhero costume warehouse? I've been trying to make an order

Sonic *loudly snores*

Duck: Sonic, i'm trying to HEAR here *hears the other line* Ah! There you are! I'd like to order the perforated Superhero cape in rabensegg blue

Caller: I'll check on your order, sir please hold!

Duck: Alrighty then 

Tris: Why would you need a cape?

Duck: Because it makes me look heroic, stand out more in front of the boss lady!

meanwhile Tech was meditating

Lexi: *to her boyfriend* He's SO into the meditating thing!

Ace: Yeah. Ever since i showed him how to do it, nothing disturbs him!

Duck: *struggling to get a signal on his phone* This is ridiculous! Hello!? C'mon, it's the 28th century! We've got jetpacks, hovercrafts, plasma weaponry, nanotech, computer synchronized lock-tea makers. But i still can't get a good signal on the 134th floor!!

Tech: *peeks at Duck and tries to ignore him*

Ducks annoying ring tone goes off which stops Tech's meditating and even wakes up Sonic

Sonic: Fire!? Oh no! Abandon ship! Abandon ship! Fire's breaking out!!

Tech: Duck...turn that ringer off!

Duck: At least the ringer works, the rest of it's junk

Tech: Have some respect, i'm trying to clear my mind here

Duck: Well, I'm trying to get signal here! *his ringer goes off* Hello? Hello?! GUH! I've had it! No more technology for me!

Sonic: No more technology? Its like no more eating!

Lexi: No phone? No EMP3 Musicblaster 5000?

Ace: And no high tech weapons?

Duck: Yeah. You heard me?

Sonic: He's serious, right?

Tech: You couldn't go one week without high tech stuff.

Duck: Well how bout you, Mr Techno geek?

Tech: *shrugs but stands up* I'll make you a bet, if you can get through one week without technology, I'll buy you that cape myself and if not, you buy it for me

Duck: Hmmm...deal

they shake hands

later the team were brought to the briefing room, Zadavia had called them

Zadavia: Loonatics. We have a major crisis, aside from costume requests, begin the holographic feed.

the computer replays Black Velvet's thefts

Zadavia: Moments ago a bat calling herself Black Velvet stole the Acme series 5 radar system

Ace: Black Velvet?

Zero: I've heard of her before

Diego: You have, Zero?

Zero: *nods*

Zadavia: She also stole the Acmesupercomputer

Tech: THat's the most advanced computer on the planet, i should now, i built it for them

Sapphire: What? Liar

Tech: No its true

Duck: See what happens when you rely on technology? I'm sooo gonna win this bet!

Zadavia: Duck! Pay attention please

Duck: *shuts his beak*

Tris: *giggles*

they watch the footage and see Black Velvet herself

Slam: Hubba hubba!

Sonic: What?

Sapphire: She ain't that pretty

Lexi: Ugh, I know right

Rip: Nah, she's hot

Sonic: *stare at him weirdly*

Zadavia: Loonatics, you have to catch her with your wits and skills, she only comes out at night and you might need night vision to find her

Zero: Roger that,

Sonic: Ha, jokes on her, I can find her with my second vision

Zadavia: Best of luck, Loonatics, Zadavia out *message ends*

Ace: Alright, new mission: Let's catch that bat

the team suit up and take off in the Supersonic Transporter

Diego: Those dark clouds over the tech university must be where she is, senior!

Ace: *sees someone* Hey? Is that...

Lexi: Witch Blair!?

Witch Blair: Huh? Oh, good to see you Loonatics *sees the other six* Oh...uh, are they good guys now?

Ace: Don't worry, they're with us

Zero: No need to worry, witch

Witch: Well thank goodness, those shadow men along with Velvet are-- their back!!

Ace: Who's back?

the whole room gets shrouded in darkness

Diego: You know, I don't do well in darkness

Rev: *uses his GPS tracking* Diego, behind you!

Diego: WHAT!? BOOGEYMAN!?!

Rev: No, those shadow dudes! *uses his tracking* We're surrounded! Ace to your left!

Ace: *punches one* Thanks!

Rev: Saph, above you!

Sapphire: *hits him with her diamond shard*

Slam went into his tornado form and stormed through a bunch

Rev: Wait, Slam watch out!! 

Tech: *bumped into by Slam* Hey! Careful!

Slam: Sorry!

Meanwhile Black Velvet entered a separate room with her shadowmen, breaking the wall open revaling a huge device, the lightwave elimator

Black Velvet: The Lightwave Eliminator, my plan is nearly complete! Take it away boys!

the shadowmen merge together to take the Lightwave Eliminator into her airship, back with the team, Ace and Duck were slowly surrounded by the raiders.

Duck: Can't see em, but i can smell em! HIYA!! *swings from behind*

Ace: Easy, Duck! "Hiya" Somewhere else!

Duck: Sorry, chief

Black Velvet: Hahahaha!

The Loonatics turn to face her

Black Velvet: We have what we came for, crush em! *Floats away* I see dark days ahead, Loonatics! Hhahaha!!

Black Velvet and her shadowmen enter the airship with the Lightwave Eliminator, some shadowmen meanwhile begun dismantling a large metal structure, as the rest closed in, they suddenly vanished with the rest. 

Zero: Cowards, come ba--!!

A loud crashing sound is heard behind them, they turn to see the metal structure prepare to fall on them

Sonic: *Jaw drops, literally*

Tech: MOVE!! 

The Loonatics all move out of the way as the structure falls but Duck just stands and uses his teleport ability to escape just in the nick of time.

Tris: *Realises* Oh no, Duck!!

Ace: Quick, dig him out! 

The Loonatics go through the rubble to try and find their friend until Duck teleported in front of them smirking

Duck: Woo, missed me--whup! *hugged by Tris*

Tris: Duck! Don't scare me like that!

The team was relieved but then heard Black Velvet's voice

Black Velvet: *in her airship* Catch me if you can, Loonatics! Hahahaha!

The airship floated away and vanished

Zero: What are we doing!? We can't lose her now!! *Grabs Ace* What we waiting for!?

Ace: Take it easy, Zero. Let's jet!!

They rush back to the Supersonic transport and take off in search of Black Velvet's airship

Ace: *piloting* Time to pop this baloon!

As they fly through the clouds there was no sign of Black Velvet's airship anywhere

Ace: Tech? Any sign?

Tech: No, some kind of cloaking device

Ace: Rev? How bout you?

Rev: notracenosignnomarknotrailnoheatnospecknoscrapnolicknoparticlenonothing!

Little were the team aware, Black Velvets airship was right above them! And shadowmen descended onto the transport

Ace: I hate being left in the dark...

Then all of a sudden everything went dark,

Duck: Hey! Who turned out the lights!!

all that was heard was indistinct chatter and punches until everything was light again but as their vision's returned they noticed something

Rip: Wait...where'd Saph and Tech go?!

Lexi: *Gasps* Look!

The team looked up and saw both Sapphire and Tech carried up by the shadowmen into Black Velvets ship.

Sonic: Oh no!!

Diego: We'll get em back, Sonic

As the transport chased after the airship, three small shadow fighters took off after the transport

Rev: Company! Behind us!

Ace: Engage weapons, she's gonna learn that if ya take two of us, you take all of us!

the three enemy fighters chased after the transport taking evasive manoeuvres from the blaster bolts

Meanwhile back in the airship, Sapphire and Tech slowly woke up blinking their eyes as they found themselves strapped to tables.

Black Velvet: *approaches* Welcome to my "city in the clouds"! Isn't it gorgeous? I built it for myself and all my shadowmen, so we can live high in the sky!

Sapphire: Hrrgg! *struggles to get out as does Tech*

Tech: Beats the rock you crawled out under

Then, Black Velvet simply removed her goggles to reveal two blank eyes, she was blind.

Sapphire: W-woah...

Black Velvet: Ever since that meteor hit, my eyes were permanently scarred...i could no longer face light...

Tech: Zero recalled you were a librarian and friends with Witch Blair, that correct?

Black Velvet: It was, but now everyone must feel my pain...and YOU must help me!

Tech: No way, we know what you're up to

Black Velvet: Oh really? Enlighten me.

Tech: You'll use the radar to control to project a curtain of darkness powered by pulses from the Lightwave Eliminator putting Acmetropolis into permanent darkness!

Black Velvet: I call it the Shroudcaster! And soon everyone will suffer as i have!...But you forgot where the Coyote built it for me!

Sapphire: Well why your shadowmen knabbed me as well?!

Black Velvet: Easy, i just need a bodyguard

Tech: Your dreaming, hot stuff

Black Velvet: Not many dogs or cats can resist my charms *grins and shoots black bolts straight at Sapphire and Tech's heads*

Tech: Ah!

Sapphire: H-Hey! Not the face!! *struggles*

Black Velvet: No use resisting, soon it'll enter your minds giving me complete control!

they open their eyes revealing blank eyes

Sapphire: *Zombie-like voice* What are your orders madame...?

Black Velvet: Perfect! Hm, now what to do, oh! I got it *giggles* Tech! Begin constructing the Shroudcaster and Sapphire! Prepare me a coffee

Tech: As you wish, madame...

back in the sky, the Loonatics ship was still being chased by the small fighters

Sonic: They're still after us!

Zero: I got an idea, *unstraps himself and prepares to open the hatch*

Sonic: WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?

Zero: Getting these bozos off our tails *flies out the ship and hovers using his gravity* Hey! Come and Get me!

Diego: He's an idiot! I love it!

as the shadow fighters approached, Zero caught them in his gravity pulse and crushed them by clenching his fists

Zero: That should do it!

Ace: Nice one, Zero *steers the transport* Now let's get to that airship, stop Black Velvet and free Tech and Saph!

Lexi: Uh guys...they're gone!

Rip: You mean Velvet killed em?!

Lexi: No, the ship! It just disappeared!

Rev: Must be that cloaking device again

Ace: Great, this'll be ten times harder to find them!

Lexi: *using Sonic Hearing* Ace, heard voices to the left of us!

Ace: Alright, left

the ship flies to the left and saw the airship reappear

Rip: There it is! Let's go!

Meanwhile, Black Velvet was just sitting on her couch with Tech building the Shroudcaster and Sapphire massaging her feet.

Black Velvet: Ah, with two of these Toons working for me and the ship hiding in the darkness, everything will be so easy for me

Sapphire: Is the massaging to your liking, madame...?

Black Velvet: Yes, kitty cat

Tech: *connecting the wires and circuits* Almost complete madame...

Black Velvet: Very good!

meanwhile the Loonatics secretly board the ship

Ace: Alright guys, activate night vision

Sonic: I don't need night vision, I can use my second vision to see heat! After all, I'm a reptile

Slam: Airship like big city.. *looking around*

Tris: Yeah and a bit dark too

Ace: Let's spread out and find out what their up to

Tech was still on the computer readying the Shroudcaster while Sapphire was giving back massages to some Shadowmen

Black Velvet: Feeling good?

the shadowmen nod

meanwhile Diego and Slam were peaking

Slam: What bat lady do to Sapphire?

Diego: Don't know

Sonic: *whispers* There they are! *trips over a box of crates* Oof!

Sapphire: *sees him* An intruder *launches a sharp crystal at him*

Sonic: Ah! I see heat but I can't see anything else! 

Diego: Then turn on your night vision, Sonica! *dashes and gets him out of the way*

Black Velvet: Sapphire, what's going on!?

Sapphire: We have intruders on board the airship

Black Velvet: WHAT!? GET THEM!!

Lexi: *With Tris seeing some shadowmen* Back to Back!

Tris: Got it!

Lexi shoots her Brain blast at one half while Tris blasted water at the other half

Sonic: AAAAHH!!! *Sonic scream*

Meanwhile, Ace, Duck, Rip, Rev and Zero snuck in to the lab to find Tech

Tech: *working on the Shroudcaster*....

Zero: There he is!

Rip: Tech? You good man?

Black Velvet: Tech only answers to me now! Tech, attack!

Tech: *turns* Yes, madame *uses magnetic power to grab the neutron cannon Ace was holding and fires at them*

Ace: Take cover!

Zero: *ducks* Duck, you try and get Tech free, we'll stop Velvet!

Duck: Roger that!

back with Sapphire

Diego: What if your Sonic Scream can free Sapphire?

Sonic: AAAAHH!!! *sonic screams at her but it didn't work* Is that your answer?

Diego: Yeah.. ummm, I got a wierd one.. maybe a shock

Sonic: Right

Lexi: Saph! Snap out of it!

Sapphire: The Shroudcaster is nearly complete, you cannot stop us

Tris: *hits her with a large water ball* Saph! This isn't you! Not again!!

Diego: *arms a stun grenade and shoots* This has gotta work!

Sonic: I guess that's how you guys feel when you try to snap us

Lexi: Yeah...

the stun grenade goes off, shocking Sapphire and she fell on her back

Sapphire: *Blinking her eyes and gets up quickly* GET AWAY FROM ME YOU B-- Oh.....it's you guys...

Slam: Friend back to normal! *Bear hugs*

Sapphire: Woah there! Heh, yeah yeah, I know *pats his back*

back in the lab

Duck: *has an idea* But my bet...ah, screw it *uses his phones annoying ring tone, hence giving up his bet with Tech*

Tech: *snaps back* Huh? What? What's going on? That annoying phone!!

Rev: He's back! 

Rip: Booyah, end of the road, batgirl!

Black Velvet: I don't lose in any fight! *flies over to the computer* Darkness was my curse, now everyone will suffer!

Ace: Stop her!

Rev: *dashes up and and pulls the switch to reverse the Shroudcasters effect* Got it!!

As the Shroudcaster reversed it's rays, it begun to brighten the whole ship

Black Velvet: My City Of Darkness...ARGGHH!!!! *covers her eyes and falls to the ground*

she lands unconscious and Rip picks her up

Tris: Let's get outta here, this place is coming down!

Ace: I got this *uses his laser vision*

The Loonatics dash to the transport and flee just as the airship exploded, restoring Acmetropolis to light

A few days later after taking Black Velvet to prison to help her receive rehabilitation and a cure for her blindness, the Loonatics were back home, Tech especially had something special to show the team.

Tech: Hey, everyone! Look what I just wear!

Tech stood in the special boots and cape earned from winning the bet

Diego: Dios Mio Tech you look good"

Tech: Thanks *to Duck* Their sending you the bill

Duck: Fair enough, i heroically sacrificed my place in the bet to save you from your brainwashing, that's good enough for me but I do admit, you look good on that cape

Tech: Thanks Duck *brofists him*

Zadavia came up on the holographic feed

Zadavia: Well done, Loonatics you have defeated Black Velvet and restored the city to light

Ace: Just doing our duty

Zadavia: Oh my, Tech. Don't you look heroic

Tech: Thanks, Zadavia

Zadavia: Very impressive indeed, ~~mmrowl

The Loonatics paused, did Zadavia just spoke in a sensual tone?

Zadavia: Oh! Um! Sorry, Zadavia out!

Duck:... Pretty sure if I won the bet she might have said the same thing.

Tech: You could be right

Sapphire: She did the meow wrong tho

The Loonatics all chuckled and went to rest for the next adventure
