Chapter 26 A Very Special Valentine's
A/N: hope you enjoy if you did don't forget to leave a vote or comment, and I'll see you guys at the end.
Almost a month later, it was the week —the day being Monday to be exact— commencing the 8th February which was also leading up to Valentine's Day and as I walked into college, after leaving Trystan's new car (which by the way is probably my favourite car in the entire world), I met up with both Sarah and Katie.
Trystan wrapped his arms around my shoulder as my arm was around his waist.
"Hey Sarah!" I said, before hugging both her and Katie, "Hey Kay," I greeted Katie, before I giggled at my own joke. "Wow, I'm weird."
"Yes, you are, but I'm pretty sure, I like it that way," Trystan said, grinning widely.
"No," I replied, "you love it and you wouldn't have me any other way, admit it."
"I'd rather not," he said, "need to keep up my image."
"Oh nice," I rolled my eyes playfully, "you gonna start calling me geek again and go back to your 'bad boy' image, because as much as you were a jerk, you were a hot, gorgeous jerk."
"Definitely," Sarah agreed, I turned to her and raised an eyebrow at her.
"What? He is a good looking guy, not quite my type, but I was the one that pointed him out to you. Like I said, I think I was still trying to figure myself out back then, so I thought he was really good looking and hot or I convinced myself he was."
"Very true, and if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have met him or known him at all. I also wouldn't be standing here today next to him."
She winked at me playfully, "you are very welcome my bestie," she giggled.
I rolled my eyes, "whatever, you free Friday? I know it's Valentine's weekend, but I was wonder if we could have a girls' night? Maybe Katie could join." I said, looking over at her, "that is if you like tv shows like Pretty Little Liars and Once Upon a Time."
"Of course, I actually love those shows, and I love Shadowhunters and though I haven't read the books they are on my 'to be read' list, I know it's different to the TV show, I read pretty little liars before it was a TV show, so I know."
"It's a good book series, it's the reason I wear this 'made in Brooklyn' t-shirt a lot of the time."
Katie grinned. "That is amazing, I love it so much, no wonder Simon wears it, it's definitely Simon."
"Exactly why I wear it, I'm Simon, apart from the being in love with the best friend thing when the best friend is in love with someone else who-" I cut myself off, "sorry, spoilers, sometimes I forget people haven't read the books."
"I lied," Katie said, "I've read the first book, I know what you mean or I know what you're about to say, poor Clace." She said.
"Mmhm," I said, before the bell rang, "we'll meet you at break, we've got to run to class otherwise we'll be late and I actually hate being late, to anything like it infuriates me." I then pulled Trystan to our class together, Sarah following behind as we ran so we wouldn't be late for our first class of the day.
**
Half way through the class, Trystan and I were discussing the assignment and what we had to do during class.
"So I was thinking-" I started when the teacher interrupted us, glaring — mostly at Trystan— and said,
"Are you sure you're not getting distracted and actually talking about the assignment I set you?" She raised an eyebrows at me.
I wasn't going to let her boss me about when I said,
"We were about to discuss the assignment, and what we were going to do for it, I had a few ideas of what to do and I think so does Trystan."
She nodded, but was clearly suspicious, "alright, well don't let it go off track to talk about anything else."
"We won't," we said in unison, before Trystan turned to me,
"So what were you thinking?" He asked,
"Ideas on what we should do for this assignment, since right now I'm pretty sure she hates me."
"She doesn't hate you, she hates me for working with you all the time, she thinks I'm a bad influence."
"Sometimes you are but that's not what distracts me from my work sometimes." I smirked, "now, ideas, what should we do."
"A murder mystery," he grinned, I wrote it down on a piece of paper and looked up,
"Okay, so what would happen, apart from the murder, like how would that person get to that point of being murdered and why would someone want to kill her."
"Well there would be loads of reasons why someone would want someone dead, most people would think it but would never actually do anything like that."
"I know which is why stories like that are so much better, because someone would not only be capable of that, but they did what they probably thought about doing for years because they hated that person so much."
"More like envy, you know the whole 'green eyed monster' could make someone do something like that."
He wiggled his eyebrows, "we need to work on this tonight-" he cut himself off sighing, "actually I can't my mum is finally coming home tonight, and I promised I'd stay with her."
"Well it's your home remember, you need to drop your stuff off just come over before she comes back and we can talk more about it then, we can write down more ideas before we properly start on the story."
"Good idea," he said, "I can't believe this, it's like I'm moving out, I'm not going to see you everyday and every night, just everyday now," he pouted and I nudged him.
"Shut up, it was only temporary, you know that,"
"I know but I'm going to miss walking home with you everyday and stuff." I giggled.
"You can still pick me up and drop me off, you have your car now, your my ride. At least I won't have to walk anymore."
"Lazy bones," he teased, and I faked a gasp.
"I'm not lazy I just really love your car, it's so pretty!"
"Why do you think I bought that car?" he asked, "I know how much you love bugs, plus, when you get your own car, hopefully a bug, we can be matching." I shook my head, giggling.
"That is the most cheesy, yet, cutest thing I think I've ever heard." I said, "you got that bug for me because it's my favourite car?" I asked.
"because you watch that show and she has a yellow bug," he replied.
I rolled your eyes, "last time I checked, your car isn't yellow." He smirked.
"I know that, and there's a reason for it." He said, "now-" he started, but was cut off by the bell, which signalled it was time for break.
I got up from my seat and packed up my things, as we started walking out of the classroom, I turned to him and said, "you were saying?"
"Oh yeah, Valentine's what do you wanna do?"
"I don't mind though you did promise me that we would do something special that probably no other couple would."
"Yeah, I know, and we will don't you worry I just was wondering what you wanted to do other than what I have planned." He said, shrugging.
Now I really want to know what he's planning I thought to myself.
"We could go see a movie?" I suggested, "go see a new movie instead of one that one of us has already seen."
"alright, we'll go to the movies." He said, winking at me, before we walked up to Katie, who was waiting with Sarah," I frowned.
"How did you get here before us?" I asked, "we were in the same class."
Sarah laughed, "by the time you heard the bell ring it had already rung once, but you two weren't paying attention, you were too busy being talking to one another, in a conversation so deep you weren't even aware everyone leaving before you."
I blushed and looked down at my feed, "oops," I muttered, biting my lip gently.
"It happens, especially when you're talking about what you're going to do in your assignment the teacher gave you and all of us." She said, smirking at me.
I looked up at her, raising an eyebrow, "all we were doing was deciding what to do for the assignment."
"While also talking about Valentine's." Sarah said, "or rather about his mum coming back and how he'll miss you not always going to college with you." She giggled.
I rolled my eyes, "eavesdropper!" I accused.
She shrugged, "yeah, I am, but I'm your best friend, you don't mind."
"Well, usually but it was a bit of a private conversation." I said.
"Well you were talking quite loudly and I was sitting next to you." She replied.
I sighed, "I'm not mad at you I just wished you hadn't been listening and I wish we were quieter when talking about it." I looked at Trystan.
"Don't worry about it babe." He said kissing my head, "honestly, I don't mind if she was listening as long as the teacher didn't hear because she already hates me sitting next to you, she doesn't need another reason to hate me anymore, now does she?" He asked and I shook my head,
"No of course not." I replied, smiling.
**
Later on that day when Trystan dropped me off, we decided to talk about the assignment while he packed up his things for going back home to his mum's house.
I sat down on his bed, "so what else should we decide to do for that story?" I asked, getting my laptop out of its case.
He sat beside me, "well it's a murder mystery, what if it's about a boy who lost his girlfriend to the murder and he's the one trying to figure everything out, including who did it."
Then I had an idea, "Okay, so what if her best friend killed the girlfriend, because she was jealous of something that the girl had that she didn't have."
"I think we may just have our plot." He smirked.
"The last thing I read that was about someone figuring out someone's death was I was here it's about a girls best friend who commits suicide and she tries to find out how her friend was lead to this moment, because they were really close, and told each other everything. It's such a good book, then again, if you've ever read if I stay it's by the same person, and they made such a good job of the movie, hopefully they'll do the sequel to it, because there's a sequel to the book."
"Heard of that book I've never read it but I think I may have went to see it, or maybe not. Probably went to see it with..." He trailed off and I realised.
"Aurora. You can say her name you know, it doesn't matter anyway, you can watch again, with me." I smiled, as I leaned over to kiss him.
"Mmm," he mumbled, before pulling away. "What was that for?"
"Being a cute boyfriend," I said casually.
He smirked at me as he got up and packed away the rest of his things, "can you help me put these in the car?" He asked.
"Sure," I said, smiling as I took a bag that had some of his clothes in them and followed him downstairs and to his car.
We kissed one last time before he said,
"Talk later, promise." I nodded,
"Tell your mum I'm asking for her," he just winked at me,
"Of course babe, no problem!" He said before getting into the car and driving away.
I sighed happily as I walked inside with a huge smile on my face and I swear I had never been so happy in my life.
**
By the time it came to Friday and Sarah, Katie and I were having a Netflix night, Trystan was practically begging to join. I refused him of course.
"It's a girls' night, plus we're watching Pretty Little Liars and all I'll be doing is swooning over the hot guys." I smirked at him.
"Could you not just swoon over one guy instead, and let that one guy be your boyfriend?"
I thought about it, actually thought about it, "maybe," I said, "but any other day than today, you're not joining us and that's final." I said.
"I promise, I'll swoon over you on Sunday, after all it is Valentine's Day and you'll have me all to yourself."
"All day?" He asked.
"All day." I confirmed, "Mum doesn't mind, it's Valentine's after all." He smiled.
"Okay, fine! I'll wait until Sunday, but you'll love me for it once you find out what I got you," he winked. "And what I have planned."
"What did you get me?" I asked, suspicious.
"That's for me to know and you to find out on Sunday." He said, "don't worry about getting me a gift." He shrugged.
"Too late I've already got you one." I said.
"Well I'm sure it's amazing." He replied, "got to go to class, see you later?" I nodded and we kissed before parting and going to our classes.
**
Later that day, around 5 o'clock, both Katie and Sarah came over.
"Let's go to my room and I can set up Netflix then we get some snacks and stuff." I said, they nodded and we all went upstairs to set up Netflix before going back downstairs to go get snacks from downstairs.
Once we got back upstairs with snacks, we turned on Netflix and watched our favourite TV programmes before we fell asleep on my bed by the time it was around three o'clock in the morning.
**
On Sunday, Trystan had promised to pick me up around 3 o'clock, though he said the surprised started straight away.
He phoned me when he was five minutes away,
"Stay inside," he said, I rolled my eyes.
"Hi to you too, why do you want me to stay inside?" I asked.
"Because the gift I have for you, you need to see inside because it's pretty."
"O-Kay." I said, "I'll stay inside, I'm almost ready anyway so I'll see you in a bit."
"See you in a bit." He replied before he clicked off.
I then went downstairs before waiting for him in my kitchen.
The door bell rang around 5 minutes later, and I opened the door.
"Hey," I greeted him, smiling.
"Don't look outside, alright?" I nodded. "Can I give you my present?" I asked.
He nodded, "alright," I smiled as I went to go get his present, I came down two minutes later with a box in my hand, and gave it to him.
He raised an eyebrow, curiously, before he opened it.
In it was a watch, a watch I knew that he wanted, his eyes widened. "Jess, you shouldn't have," he said before he hugged me.
"Give me one minute and I'll get your present." He said.
Soon he came back in and handed me my own box.
I opened it and I gasped as I was blown away by the present. It was a necklace, with my birthstone on it. A sapphire.
"It's beautiful," I managed to say, I looked up at him, tears running down my cheeks. He wiped them away.
"Don't cry," he whispered, "I don't like it when you cry." I laughed.
"I'm happy that's all."
"Well, your presents aren't exactly done," and then he brought out a blindfold. "Put this on."
I frowned but did what I was told. Then I was guided outside before I stopped in front of something.
"You can take it off." He said, and I did so, and standing in front of me was a Volkswagen Beetle, it was an old Beetle almost as old as Emma Swan's bug, but not old enough that it was an automatic car.
I gasped, I was speechless. I was literally speechless I couldn't say anything and I started crying again.
"This is too much," I whispered, "why did you get me it?"
"Because I wanted to be unique and your parents helped me pick it." I smiled and jumped into his arms before I kissed him passionately.
"I love you," I mumbled, "so much." He smiled widely.
"I love you too." He replied, "now let's go get lunch. There's one more surprise in store."
Did I also mention he said instead of a dinner it was lunch instead, like he said he wanted to be unique, but by this time I was overwhelmed.
**
When we got to the place, it was so romantic, I thought I was going to cry again.
"This is beautiful," I gushed, he smiled before he kissed me, and took off my jacket.
"Anything for my beautiful girlfriend." He said, and I blushed, turning a deep shade of red.
"Are you going keep surprising me, because this is amazing, it's just a bit overwhelming." I said, my cheeks still burning.
"There is one more thing, but it'll wait until later," he said, smiling at me.
I nodded, "all right." I said, before we were greeted by the waiter who was going to serve us for all the time we were having our lunch.
**
By the end of the lunch, or rather almost the end of the luncheon Trystan brought out a ring.
My eyes widened but he calmed me down when he said, "don't worry it's not engagement ring, I wouldn't pick that without your consent. It's a promise ring."
"A promise ring?" I asked.
"A promise that we will never ever do anything that'll hurt each other." I smiled as he put the ring on my finger. I grinned as I leaned over the table and brought his to mine and kissed him.
"This is amazing," I whispered, "thank you."
"No problem, I wanted it to be special, so I decided to go all out." I giggled.
"This is a big way of going all out," I said, "but thank you, ugh, I wish I got other things for you today, because I feel like I didn't get enough."
"You got me an amazing watch and you're here, I think that's a big gift in itself." He said, "now let's go home?" He suggested, I nodded and we got up after paying the check and went back home and stayed at home for the rest of the day.
It was the best Valentine's Day, I've ever had, ever.
A/N: hope you enjoyed if you did leave a vote or comment and I'll see you in the next chapter! This is a very long chapter I know and with the gifts I know some of it is unrealistic but I wanted it to be unique and for them to have something special that he loved that much he helped choose and buy a car anyway I hope you did enjoy!
