The next day at college , I met up with Sarah. I walked into with Trystan.

"Hey," I said as we walked up to her, with our hands intertwined.

"Hi..." She looked down at our hands, and raised an eyebrow, "care to explain."

"Trystan is staying over at mine, in the guest room until his mum gets back." I said, "I don't trust what'll happen to him if he goes home and his dad beat him up and I'm never allowed to see him again."

"That might happen anyway, and he'll take it out on Trystan. Or maybe you." Sarah said. She then turned towards him and asked, "you're okay with this?"

"Of course not, if he hurts her then I don't know what I'll do, but I honestly don't want to go home to him, that's why we are going to the police as soon as possible, so he won't hurt anyone close to me. Especially Jessie."

Sarah nodded, though she was still cautious, I could tell.

"Come on guys, let's get to class," I said as I put Trystan's arm around my shoulder and put my arm around his back and rested my head on his shoulder.

He chuckled, "you're so cute when you do that." He whispered in my ear.

"You're comfy, I just like resting my head on you, plus I want to show people you're my boyfriend."

He shook his head, "you don't have to show me off, you're not going to lose me."

"I know, but I like I said, I like leaning on you, proving you're my boyfriend, is just an extra." I said, then I pulled my head away as we walked into the hallway to where our class was, "now, let's get to class, come on." I said, grabbing his other hand and pulled him to the classroom where our class was, Sarah walking behind us, rolling her eyes.

**

Half way through class, Trystan ran his hand over mine before holding it under the desk.

And then he whispered something in my ear, that made me giggle. It also caught the teacher's attention.

"Something funny that you'd like to share with the class?" She asked.

I sat up straight and took my hand out of his, shaking my head, "No, sorry I got distracted." Glancing at Trystan.

"Don't let it happen again, okay?" I nodded, and as she turned away I glared at Trystan, but he just smirked at me, then winked.

"I can't afford to be told off and sent to the principle's you know." I mumbled to him.

"Gotta keep up that good girl act, right?" He asked, I just looked at him from the corner of my eye, and shook my head.

I then raised it and put my hand up, the teacher looked round and saw me, before walking over.

I smiled at her, "sorry I just wanted to say, that I finished the part of the work that you told us to do." I said handing her my piece of work.

She took it and smiled at me, "great! Is it okay if I talk to you at the end of class?" She asked.

I nodded, "Yeah, that's fine." I said, smiling at her,

"Great I just wanted to see how you are doing after everything's happened."

"That's fine, um, is it okay if Trystan and Sarah stay as well, they're the people that have been there for me for a long time."

She hesitated, her face going away from a smile, before she smiled at me again. This time it was a fake smile, "Sure, no problem." She said before turning back to the class.

"Why did you ask her about me being there?"

"Because I have a feeling it's for more than just what's been going on." I whispered, "I need someone there with me."

He nodded before going back to his work, and I went back to doing other work that the teacher had set at the beginning of class.

**
As the class bell rung, I cleared up my things before walking over to my teacher. She looked up at me,

"Hiya Jessie. How are you?" She asked.

"I'm fine thank you. You wanted to speak to me?"

"Ah yes, well I actually wanted to talk to you alone, as I don't think Trystan or Sarah should be here."

"Anything you say to me, you can say in front of them, I don't keep anything from them."

She sighed, "I don't think you should sit next to Trystan. Lately I think he has been too much of a distraction for you." She said, "I think it's best if we move you away from him, maybe it'll make you concentrate more on your work than your boyfriend."

I raised an eyebrow, "what do you mean?" I asked, confused.

"Well you said you finished your work, but it is actually only half done," she showed me the work sheet we did that I have in, "like I said it seems he's been distracting you a lot from your work."

"So you're saying I can't sit next to my boyfriend because I didn't do all my work?"

"What I think is that he is distracting you causing you to think you finished your work when you actually haven't."

"That's not the reason, miss. I hardly paid attention to him this lesson." I said, "I thought I finished it, because I'm sure I did the rest of it. My boyfriend doesn't get in the way of my work. In fact considering I'm a nerd, I'd rather finish my work than hang out with my boyfriend most of the time. So if I have a distraction it is definitely not Trystan." I said.

"I still think you should sit away from him." She suggested.

"I'll think about it." I smiled at her before grabbing Trystan's hand and walking out, Sarah following behind.

"Times like these I wish I could just make some people disappear." I muttered.

"She's trying to help." Sarah said.

"I know, but I feel like she's invading in my personal life, like bitch you have nothing to do with my life go away." I ranted, and Trystan just chuckled.

"You're really cute when you're mad."

I nudged him playfully, "please shut up." I glared at him.

He winked at me, before pulling me along the corridor.

I groaned and let him pull me along. I turned to Sarah, mouthing, "help me!"

She laughed and shrugging as if to say, "what can I do?" I rolled my eyes and shook my head, before giggling.

He chuckled before turning me around, putting his hand on my neck and lifted my head up to kiss me.

**
We all sat down at our table, and Sarah grinned at us.

"Valentine's day is coming up next month." She commented. I groaned,

"Why do you have to remind me?" I asked, "seventeen years alone on Valentine's and the only cards I get are from my parents." I said.

Sarah giggled, "Yeah, but now you've got a boyfriend, you're not alone." She replied, wiggling her eyebrows.

"You're ridiculous."

"And you're a hopeless romantic I thought you'd love Valentine's Day." She said, confused.

"It's a holiday that only couples celebrate and if your single reminds you that, you have no one there for you because you're alone, until you find someone."

Trystan wrapped his arm around me. "We can be different." He said, kissing my forehead.

"And how are we going to be different?" I asked, raising my eyebrow at him.

He smirked, "just wait and see and you'll soon find out."

"But then how will I know we were being different?"

"You'll know, it'll be obvious." He said, as he kept smirking. "Let's just enjoy ourselves until then."

"And what are we going to do? Like when it's not Valentine's Day."

"Whatever you want, our first mission I think, is to get Sarah a boyfriend."

I grinned as I looked at Sarah, "now that sounds like a plan." I said

Sarah groaned, "please don't, I'll send myself some flowers or something for Valentine's Day." She said.

"We're not that mean, you know we want you to be happy."

"And I will be, your my best friend, I don't need a guy to make me happy."

"Maybe, but with a guy, he'll make you even happier."

"I'm better off alone, now leave it." She snapped before she got up to leave the table and to leave us alone.

I sighed, "something's up with her." I muttered, clearly worried about her.

"She'll be fine, she's just not wanting a boyfriend, she's probably not ready for one, don't rush her she'll be fine alright, just relax." He said, kissing my head.

I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder, "I just want to know what's up with her, she's not usually like this."

"I know, but we'll find out don't worry, just forget about it for now, yeah?" I nodded as I started to close my eyes before the bell rang for the next class and I had to go to my next class.

I sat up and kissed his cheek, "I'll see you later, I need to get to class." I said, before starting to get up.

He grinned and pulled me back down and kissed me. I squealed before pulling away slowly,

"I really have to go, I'll see you later." I said, he nodded before I got up and went to my next class.

**

As class ended and college finished, I walked out of class and Trystan was waiting outside the door for me.

"Hey there stranger. Long time no see, in fact I don't know if actually remember your name."

"Funny." Trystan smirked, then took his hand out, playing alone, "the name is Trystan, but most girls call me hottie mc cutie."

I tried not to glare at him, "Jessie, but most boys call me... Well I'd rather not say." I teased.

"I guess I'll just call you geek."

"Huh, never you could be such a jerk." I spat, rolling my eyes.

He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my cheek, "only teasing," he squeezed me gently.

I looked up at him and stuck my tongue out before giggling.

"Perfect." He murmured in my ear before spinning me around and kissing me gently but meaningfully.

I pulled away and cupped his cheek, "you okay, you seem different, did something happen with your dad, did he call you."

He shook his head, "no, I'm fine, lets just go home." I nodded and we walked back to my house.

After we got home, I realised that my mum wasn't home,

"Where is your mum?" He asked.

"Probably out with a friend, I think she mentioned it to be. We probably have about an hour until she comes home. Is that alright?"

"Yeah fine, I might call my mum see when she's coming home." I looked over at him after putting my keys down in the bowl on the table opposite the couch.

"She hasn't said when she's coming back." He just shook his head,

"No, I mean, she said "soon" but I don't know how soon, "soon" is." He replied.

"Okay, well I'm going to go upstairs and start on my homework and you can join me once you've finished speaking to your mum?" I suggested and he nodded his head.

I kissed his cheek, before walking upstairs to start on homework.

Trystan

I unlocked my phone and scrolled down until I saw my mum's number I pressed it before putting the phone to my ear.

It rang, before it cut off, going onto voicemail.

"Hi, it's Carolin I can't get to the phone right now, but leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can *beep*"

I sighed and closed my eyes, "hey mum its me, can you please call me back when you get this its important it's about dad, I'll see you later, bye." I clicked the phone off before I went upstairs to go see Jessie.

When I got upstairs, Jessie was there, just sitting peacefully while doing homework. I smiled as I knocked on the door.

She looked up, "hey, did you get ahold of your mum?" She asked.

I swallowed, I didn't like lying to her, but I had to protect her, so I did lie, "yeah, she doesn't know when she'll be back, that's why I was so quick on the phone." I said, smiling at her.

"Okay, well come sit down." I nodded before sitting next to her.
