Kate's point of view:

I never go that iced coffee I wanted but, I got something better. A date with a cute boy! On the way to work, I couldn't stop thinking about Terrance. I couldn't stop thinking about the hug and the kiss. I've never felt this way in YEARS. When I finally got to work Duncan was standing by the front door waiting for me.

"Where have you been? You're an hour and a half later! Do you really think you can just show up at any time and leave at any time!?!" Duncan said with an aggressive tone.

"No, good morning, or how's your day, Kate?" I said while rolling my eyes.

"Good mornings are for people that show up on time. Where have you been?" He said while I walked into the store.

"I overslept, I'm sorry. It will not happen again. "I said while walking fast.

I was going to tell him about what really happen, but I knew he would be rude about Terrance. Because he's blind... For example, an old lady with a cane came into the store the other day and Duncan came up to her and said, "Do you have some kind of illness or something?" He's such a jerk. He can obviously see that she has trouble walking.

"Hey girl, why you look so happy today?" Said my best friend Chip while he walked towards me.

"I met a guy, Chip," I smirked.

"Girl, tell me everything!" Chip said with so much excitement.

"Well, he's smart, funny, and....blind," I said while looking at the ground.

"Sorry for overhearing your conversation. But, blind! Like blind, blind? Like tap. Tap. Tap, on everything blind?" Duncan said while laughing.

"You're such a jerk, Duncan!" Chip yelled.

"Forget it, can we just do our jobs?" I said while rolling my eyes.

I just finished revising and editing this chapter on 1/11/21.

This chapter explains what Kate gets treated at work by her boss Duncan and how she and her best friend Chip handles him being rude to them.
