Kate's point of view:

On my way to work, I stopped at the coffee shop to get myself an iced coffee. Halfway down the street, I saw a nice black man with a cane. He looked around my age. When I got closer to the boy I noticed that he was wearing sunglasses and was using his cane to guide his way. He was kind of cute and was stumbling.

"Sir, Sir are you ok? Do you need any help?" I said while walking closer to the boy.

"Huh, where are you?" The boy said while using his hand to find me.

"I'm right in front of you. Can't, you see me?" I said while waving my hand in front of his face. He then grabbed my hand gently.

"No, I can't see. I'm blind." He sighed and then dropped my hand.

"Like blind, blind? So, you can't see bright lights, nothing?" I said while walking with him.

"Nope. I'm as blind as a bat. Well, actually bats have sonar to see, and I don't." He smirked and then continued. "I touch and hearing, that's how I see the world." Out of nowhere, it started to pour down rain.

"Oh, god it's raining." He said in a shocked tone.

I then grabbed his hand and his cane and guided him to the abandoned house across the street. I closed the door of the house and closed my eyes and listened to the rain hitting the roof.

"I never got your name." He said softly and then tried to reach around for his cane.

"I'm Kate. Kate Cessalee. What's your name?" I said while putting his cane back in his hands.

"Don't laugh, but my name is Terrance...." He said with hesitation and then continued. "Terrance Bunny."

"Bunny? As in the animal Bugs Bunny?" I said while trying to hold my laugh.

"Yes, I-" He said but just then my phone rang.

"It's my boss. I'm an hour late for work." I said to Terrance.

"Duncan, I'm so sorry!" I said when I answered the phone.

"Kate, are you even going to come to work today?" Duncan said with a harsh tone.

"I'm on my way!" I said to Duncan and then hang up.

"I have to go, Terrance," I said while walking to the door. But then, I felt some try to grab my waist gently from behind.

"When will I see you again?" Terrance said while hugging me. Then I grabbed his hands and made him hold me tighter.

"How about, Wednesday? At the park. "I then turned around and gave him a gentle kiss.

"It's a date then." He said and then let go of me. "Now you have to go to work now." He continued.

"Oh yeah! See you Wednesday!" I said then ran outside the house.

The rain has stopped.

This chapter explains how the two main characters met and how they react to meeting each other. It also explains that they both have feelings for each other.
