SIX. dojo daycamp
IN ORDER to stir clear of being expelled, Jerry convinced their newest principal that he could babysit.
But where?
The dojo of course, where else?
Rudy wasn't having it though. He watched as Milton, Jack, and Layla set up the dojo as a daycare.
This was his dojo, nothing about this could ever be a daycare.
But with a hundred dollar check, many things were plausible in Rudy's eyes.
"Uh, Milton, Eddie, take Byron, put him in the ball pit, and give him a graham cracker." Rudy said.
"I'm not touching this little snotbag." Milton said, "That thing is wearing a toilet."
Layla rolled her eyes and took Byron and headed towards the ball pit.
Principle Buckett declared that he would be back at seven and he was putting his trust into Jerry.
"This really stinks, Jerry." Milton said.
"Oh, relax. It's just a couple of hours with one little baby." Jerry reassured.
Principle Buckett swiftly returned, "By the way, I, uh— I put up a notice on the faculty bulletin board about this place."
Layla liked kids, babies over actual toddlers and so forth. A kid could really take a toll on you because they seemed so brutally honest.
But she had planned on helping Jerry and the others on watching one kid.
And just like that several kids and their parents began piling in and it became very overwhelming. Especially the older kids who were possibly just acting out because they could.
Layla held a baby in her arms, doing small dancing to keep them calm. It was a madhouse in the dojo and if she began freaking out like the boys it would definitely end up on the bad side of things.
"Where's Milton?" Jack asked, a blonde toddler in his arms.
Layla turned, "I think he's changing someone's diaper."
"He is?" Jack questioned, "Well, what about his fear of germs?"
Layla pointed, just as Milton came from the back. He was wearing a hazmat suit and wheeling the child in a small, red wagon.
"Okay," Milton heavily breathed, unzipping the suit, "we should be good now. That diaper weighted more than he does."
"We got an escapee! Pigtails walking!" Rudy called. But she wasn't one of theirs. It was Officer Jonnie's niece.
And it wasn't long until the teens were left alone when Rudy decided to go with Jonnie and her niece to some beauty competition.
It had a few hours and some of the kids had died down. Milton and Eddie hiding from the kids, but as they raised their heads to see if it was clear, two other boys would hit them in the head with styrofoam sticks.
Layla sat on the floor with a couple of other children, way younger than the ones who we're currently abusing Milton and Eddie.
She watched them play with Play-Doh when Jack came from the back, a different girl attached to his hip.
"Where's Byron?" He asked.
"Last I saw he was with Jerry." Layla answered.
But he wasn't. Jerry thought Bryon was with Jack. And when they realized, they began looking for the boy, but wasn't anywhere in their sight.
"Jerry, he's outside, come on!" Jack called.
Layla, Jack, and Jerry all ran outside, leaving Milton and Eddie alone with the other kids. Once they were outside, they found that Bryon had quickly disappeared.
They rushed around the mall, no sight of the boy. As they regrouped, they saw the boy sitting on a stack.
They careful approach the boy and he was soon being lifted in the air by the stack. It was hooked on by a machine.
Jack was quick to his feet. He began crawling the railing as fast as he could to catch up to Bryon. But as Bryon began going higher and higher, Jack began losing his breath.
Jerry and Layla took the elevator to try and help Jack. Bryon had been sitting right on the edge of the railing. Any small movement would cause any of them to fall hundreds of feet.
The trio, once again found themselves climbing higher up as Bryon was caught against a piece metal that had began carrying him up.
They were soon able to get Bryon to safety and later that night, each kid had been picked up by their respective parent and asked to never drop them off at that dojo ever again.
That evening, Jack and Layla found themselves back on the metal railing, definitely not that high, but high enough to see the sky clear as day.
"I don't think I'm ever having kids after that." Jack said.
"That's all the way in the future." Layla laughed, "Don't think about it now."
"Do you want kids?" Jack asked, "Even after all of that?"
Layla shrugged her shoulders, sipping on the smoothie Jack had bought her, "Maybe. Who knows."
Jack looked over at Layla. The moonlight hitting her face just right. It was cheesy as it sounded, but she was beautiful. Falling for a girl he said he wasn't going to fall for became harder and harder especially when he hung out with her so often.
Not to shocking though. She was Layla Beasley of course. She knew she had a flare and she would use it. Even if she didn't realize was.
