Octavia rolled onto her stomach as she began to wake up,she rubbed her eyes and looked towards her phone.

On her screen blared the demonic words.

7:00

Octavia groaned and rolled back onto her right side to sleep.

King laid asleep curled up by her legs as Octavia smiled trying to sleep.

"HootyHi, Octavia!"

Octavia screamed awake and punched Hooty,the bird had stuck his head into her room and was right up close to her face.

"Ow! I'm just wishing you a good morning."Hooty said as he Retreats to the front door."Jeez! Hoot! Ow!"

"Sorry, Hooty."Octavia said, Octavia picked up king and put him under her arm.

"Morning king"She smiled.

King wagged his tail as Octavia tickled his chin.

She got changed and walked out of the room and went downstairs.

"Morning owl lady"Octavia said as she sat down.

"Morning "Eda said although tiredly.

Eda sits on the kitchen table and drinks from her mug. King is sitting in a high chair and stabbing a fork into a yellow blob with eyes sitting on a plate.

" When do I get a magic staff?"Octavia Asked"do I get to go a quest"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down, kid. Being a witch doesn't happen overnight. "Eda giggled.

"But a magic staff, huh? You really want one?"Eda asked smiling.

"More than anything."Octavia said her eyes wide.

"Magic staff, come to me!"Eda said.

She holds out her hand. For a second, nothing happens. Then several things crash distantly. King, Octavia, and Eda all slowly turn to the sound, until Eda's staff appears and smacks her in the face, clattering to the ground.

EdaGrunts and picks the staff up, spinning it before tapping it on the ground.

" It's early. Now, witches are awarded their staffs from school. With me as your teacher, you'll be taking a different approach. "Eda said as she Drops a bag of potions onto the floor.

"You'll have to work for it."she Leads Octavia through the living room.

"I run a few businesses. On weekends, I offer rare human treasures that Owlbert drags over from your side of the realm."

She grabs a toy sword and hits a button near the pommel.

"I shall smite my enemies! Ages six to eleven."

Eda Tosses the sword over Octavia's head.

" But most days I sell only the finest homemade elixirs and potions."

Octavia Pulls a bottle from the bag and reads the label.

"Snake oil."Octavia read out loud.

"No one wants an un-oiled snake. Follow me."Eda said.

Eda and Octavia walk onto a balcony.

"Today you'll deliver packages and sell potions to that town over there, Bonesborough. You'll have to be careful. I have rivals everywhere who'd love to take my business down and you along with it. You wanted a dangerous magical quest? Sister, you've got one."Eda said pating Octavia on the back.

"I won't let you down,Eda"Octavia said.

"Oh I'm sure."Eda said smiling.

They walked to the living room, where Eda let Octavia out the door with the bag of potions.

"Remember, never befriend a man in sandals and always measure twice, cut once."Eda said.

"Huh?"Octavia said confused.

"Good luck! "Eds said as she Slams the door closed and dusts her hands off, then looks at King.

Octavia stood outside for a few minutes before king was shoved outside with her.

"Be back by nightfall or risk mortal peril. "Eda said smiling as she Slams the door again.

"Have a nice trip."Hooty said.

"Huh! Let's get this over with."King said as they began to walk.

Octavia and King walk through an archway.

"Woah"Octavia said smiling widely.

There was a wall covered in wanted posters on either side of the archway. Various types of demons pass, all of which Octavia stares at in amazement.

"Hey, it's rude to stare."King said as Octavia rolled her eyes slightly.

"I've only seen places like this in my dreams. It's beautiful. And I'm the only human here?"Octavia asked.

"Haven't seen any others."King shrugged.

"Neat"Octavia said while Smirking.

Octavia hoists the bag over her shoulder and looking around. She starts in the direction of the market, where she walks up to a centaur holding a pumpkin in front of his chest.

"What has four hooves and wants to buy a potion? This guy.*Octavia said Smirking.

The CentaurSighs and lowers the pumpkin to reveal his face is on his chest.

"My eyes are down here."

Octavia's eyes widened in suprise and curiosity before she could ask questions king dragged her away,

A few minutes later Octavia rings a doorbell. She leaves her hand on the button, and the doorbell bites her hand and slowly starts to eat her arm, Octavia hissed and tried to swat the doorbell. King walks away in annoyance.

Octavia and King were sitting, both of them scarfing down a Not Dog from the cart behind them.

" I know I've had enough delight for one day."King said.

"Hell yeah,now I've got this neat scar"Octavia said bragging as she held up her arm,there was a bite mark on her wrist from the the doorbell.

King giggled a bit

Octavia stands up and stretches before she hefts the potions sack over her shoulder with a grunt,she  takes out a piece of paper and starts down the alley.

"Let's just deliver this last package and go home. Maybe this world is better-"Octavia whistled seeing the large castle with golden banners and illuminated by sunlight. The doorbell was also made of gold, and towering wooden doors open after Octavia presses it.

"Big houses always belong to big whackjobs. Let's kick the package inside and get outta here."King said.

"Agreed but we can't leave a package outside."Octavia said as she walked down.

" Hello?"Octavia called out.

"Hey, wait."King said as he Ran  after Octavia, yelping when the doors slam behind him." Weh!"

Octavia entered a room.

"I'm delivering a package from Miss Eda, the Owl Lady. Huh?"Octavia called out.

Lanterns around the room flare on, revealing it to be a massive library. They illuminate the staircase, above which is a painting of a wizard. The wizard enters from a door in the same pose he has in the painting.

Octavia looked at the wizards feet noticing sandles.

Octavia remembered what Eda said.

'never befriend a man in sandals'

Octavia narrowed her eyes.

"Weird old man in jim-jams."King said to Octavia who nodded slowly.

"I was in my oscillarium, reading the stars. And who might you be, with eyes full of curiosity?"The wizard asked.

"The mailman"Octavia answered bluntly.

The wizard walked up the two." Young lady, dareth I say, I sense something unique about you. Please, won't you join me for tea?"

Adegast summons two chairs and a table of snacks. He sits down in the white throne.

" Let's scram!"King said as he Climbs up to Octavia's shoulder." Wizards are just old people with glitter in their pockets."

The wizard akes a handful of glitter out of his pocket and drops it on the floor.]l

"I don't trust him."King said.

Octavia narrowed her eyes at the wizard.

"No, besides Eda's probably waiting for us"Octavia said handing the bag to the wizard who looked shocked.

"Byeeee"Octavia said as she ran out holding king.

"That was weird "Octavia said as she and king walked through bones borough.

"Yeah,but hey at least we got out of there"King said.

Octavia nodded and sighed.

"Maybe we could go get something to eat before we go back"Octavia said to king but as she was walking she slammed into someone falling on her butt.

"Hey watch where you're going nit wit"

Octavia looked up to see a pink skinned girl with darker pink hair and three eyes.

She had a group of other girls with her,one with lime hair,one with grey and one with brown hair.

"Why don't you"Octavia snarked back as she got and dusted herself off.

King made weyh sound as he got onto Octavia's shoulder.

"How dare you speak to me like that,do you know who I am?!"she screeched.

Her voice sounded like nails on a chalk board to Octavia.

"Am I meant to?"Octavia asked crossing her arms.

The pink girl growled as she poked a finger at Octavia's chest.

"Usually people our age move out of the way when I'm walking,and I don't take kindly to people who talk back."

King made a worried sound.

Octavia's eyes narrowed as the girl pointed at her.

"First of all pointing at people is very rude"Octavia said shoving Her finger away"second of all, I'm not gonna respect and take an insult from someone who looks like pinkie pie from my little pony"

The girl made a confused face before going made,she had no idea what this stranger was going on about but she knew it was an insult.

"That's it!"The pink girl yelled.

She made a circle with her finger sending a spout of fire towards Octavia.

Octavia's eyes widened as she dodged out of the way holding king who was shaking.

"Run!"Octavia yelled as she and king began running as the pink girl chased them.

Octavia and king ran into the forest as they could still hear the sound of magic behind them.

"You think Eda will come and look for us?"Octavia asked as she ran narrowly missing fire.

"I hope so!"King yelled.

The two kept running untill finally the sound of magic disappeared and the only noise they could hear was the forest.

King and Octavia panted for a second.

"Good they're gone"Octavia wheezed as she laid on her back as king flopped next to her.

"Yeah, I'm guessing we aren't far from the owl house"King said.

"We should probably start heading back."Octavia said as she sat up.

She got up off the floor and shook the dust off.

She started to get a feeling,that shivering feeling when someone was watching her.

"Let's get going."Octavia said as she picked up king and began walking.

The forest was dense with blue and orange leaves.

It was quiet as if no birds lived in this part.

"It's ere really quiet"King said as he Whimpered.

"Octavia remained quiet until something caught her attention.

"Hey what's that?"Octavia said as she pointed at a small glow amongst the leaves.

"You want to go towards the glowing light?"King asked in a flat tone.

Octavia walked towards the glow and as she pushed past the leaves she saw a circular clearing.

There was large stone pillars creating a circle with a small stone table.

"Woah what's this?"Octavia asked looking around the ruins.

There was carvings on the stone and as Octavia looked closely she saw each one was a different animal.

A bird,a fox,a wolf,a cat and a dragon.

"I know what this is"King said as he scampered over to Octavia.

"These are from before Belos's time,this is where witches would enchant objects,this one was probably used to make something to do with these animals"King said pointing at the carvings.

Octavia traced a finger over the carving of the dragon.

It felt smooth and stony.

"This place is beautiful "Octavia said.

Her eyes scanned the area as she spotted something glimmering on the stone.

"Hey Octavia what are you doing?"King asked as he looked worried.

"I don't know,I feel drawn to this"Octavia reached out to touch the glimmering stone,it was almost opal like.

White with glimmering hues.

"Octavia wait no!"King yelled as the girl touched the stone.

She screeched in pain as white magic traveled up her arm.

Her eyes rolled back in her head as they turned white.

Octavia could feel herself falling unconscious as king Whimpered saying her name.

Then she heared another voice.

"Kid! Kid! No don't go unconscious"

It was Eda but before Octavia could reply,she fell unconscious.
