Chapter 3: "Her Tears and Fears"
August 25th, 3:35 P.M.
Jessica hadn't realized that she was silently crying while thinking back to her past. Her daze was broken when she heard Vitya whimper. She quickly wiped away her tears and plastered on a sad smile. Vitya knew his owner was sad, and he knew he had to break her out of her daze to see her smile again. After Jessica composed herself, she got up from her couch and walked to the door and picked up the dark blue leash that was sitting on the little nearby table.
Vitya's ears perked up and happily jumped off the couch. He started wagging his tail and barking with excitement. Jessica couldn't help but laugh at her dogs sudden excitement. She clasped on the leash to Vitya's collar and opened their light blue front door. Jessica's face was met with the cold autumn air of Chicago, the Windy City. Vitya was overjoyed to finally breathe some fresh air. Jessica on the other hand was feeling a bit tense when she saw an unknown figure across the street. After she bent down to pet Vitya's head, when she looked up, the figure wasn't there anymore. Instead there was a little black dog where the figure was standing just a couple of seconds ago. Jessica felt her heart beating at a fast pace since this little dog appeared out of nowhere. Vitya could've cared less, he was simply overjoyed to have found a new friend.
Vitya tugged on his leash and started running towards the dog while pulling his owner with him. After arriving right in-front of the mysterious dog, Vitya started sniffing the dog while Jessica just stared at the dog who's she's never seen before. Maybe it's a stray dog...she thought to herself. Since Jessica simply loved dogs and all animals overall, she decided to attempt to bring the little dog back home with her and Vitya.
When Jessica reached her hand to pet the dog, the dog didn't move an inch, but just stared at her. She scooped up the little dog in a swift motion. Since it was practically fall in Chicago, it was a bit chilly. She decided to cuddle the little dog closer to her to keep the little dog warm. After walking Vitya around the neighborhood for about 10 or so minutes, they headed back home with their new little friend. She unlocked their front door and stepped into the warm apartment. Luckily for them their apartment room was on the very first floor and right in front, so all they had to do was simply walk in. Right next to their front door was other doors that were the others, and then there was the stairs around the sides that led to the second row of front doors and so on. There was 5 separate floors in total. Once Jessica was inside with her Vitya and new furry friend, she lowered the little dog to the floor and unleashed Vitya.
Jessica yawned at looked at the little dog that was sniffing Vitya's bowl of dog food. "We have to feed you little buddy, not to mention also name you." Jessica said while taking off her pair of black and white Jordan's. Jessica decided that she was too tired to think or do anything so why not take a nice nap? Yeah, that's exactly what she needed. She yawned as she thought of how a nice nap will help her regain her lost energy. She jumped on her couch and placed her head on one of the arms of the couch. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
She was sitting on one of the purple couches in a living room. It was her parents living room...her mother wore a graceful smile on her face while her father had a huge grin plastered on his. They were singing "happy birthday" to her while Jessica had a huge toothy smile on her glowing face. Then the room went dark, the lights went out. The lights came back on but her parents were gone...Jessica got up from her seat and walked around, desperately trying to find her parents who vanished out of nowhere. Her parents were right behind the couch they were sitting on. Their bodies were there...their eyes wide open...their big deep blue eyes...their necks, arms, and hands full with deep bloody gashes...their fingers sliced that were hanging on by a string of skin...their stab wounds all over their chests...and the shot on their foreheads...they were dead...laying in their own pool of blood...Jessica started sobbing uncontrollably...she crawled to her parents while tears streamed her face...she sat in between both of her parents dead bodies...covering her hands in their blood...she covered her face with her blood stained hands and continued sobbing...

Jessica woke up and sat up straight. Her forehead covered in a thick sheet of sweat. The rest of her face covered with her tears...she touched her cheeks and felt her tears...she covered her face and continued sobbing.
August 25th, 6:39 P.M.
After 13 minutes of sobbing after her terrifying nightmare, she decided to wipe her tears and take deep breaths...Vitya was sleeping on her lap and the little black dog was sleeping on top of Vitya. Jessica wore a sad smile on her face and stroked both of the dogs fur while they were still sleeping. Vitya woke up and sat up while the little black dog slid down Vitya's back and reached Jessicas knees and woke up. Jessica laughed softly and started feeling a bit more cheerful. "Hey! We still have to name you, little furry friend!" Jessica said while picking up the little dog. Jessica didn't know what gender the dog was so she briefly checked. Turned out that the little dog was a boy so she decided to name him "Pedro". Jessica was pretty happy with the name and so was Pedro. Now Jessica had two companions with her, Vitya and Pedro. She felt a little bit less lonely now...and a whole lot happier.
