Chapter 1: "She Ran"

August 28th, 6:25 A.M.
Her hands were trembling, she was panting heavily, her midnight black hair whipping the sides of her face, her legs were going numb since she was running as fast as she could. She turned a left and ducked under a loose branch. She was on the verge of tears, as a matter of fact she started sobbing while clinging onto the note she had in her hand. She had read it and ran...Then she heard the hooves of a horse galloping...they were getting louder and louder...she thought that the earth was going to split sooner or later and eat her alive since that noise just grew louder and louder...she jumped over a rock that had old mold growing on it. Then she saw a lake...and there was nothing else she could see but that very same lake. It was as if the lake was all the oceans in the world combined...but these waters weren't beautiful to look at, they were horrifying. Instead of seeing a shade of blue, the water was a deep red as blood. The water was as deep red as her painted finger nails. The galloping hooves were getting louder and she knew they were right behind her, catching up to her. She didn't dare to look back. Either jump into the deep blood red lake or face the source of the horrifying sound. She clinged onto the note in her hand as if it was her only life support, and it truly was. She was ready to jump, clinging onto the note, tying her worn out shoelaces, and wiping her tears. Just as she jumped, it was horrifyingly already too late...a lone tear escaped her red puffy right eye...
