"Harshu, why are your eyes so red?" An aunt of ours asked me. It was the day. The wedding of my little bro Ishaan is gonna take place within sometime. I entered Ishaan's room to check on him when this aunt of mine asked me this.

"Seems like he hasn't slept well. Am I right, bro?" A cousin of mine asked me mischievously.

"Is this a question to be asked? We all know why." Ish said as he winked at me.

The entire group which was there in the room broke into peals of laughter. I just gave a meek smile.

Aunt patted my cheeks as she laughed and went away. Thankfully, the whole group went from the room as well.

"What was that?" I asked him coldly after making sure that everyone left the room.

"What was what?" He asked me innocently as he adjusted his hair.

"Ishaan! What was the need to tease me in front of everyone like that?" I roared.

"Tease? Wasn't it supposed to be the truth?" He asked brushing his hair again.

I went near him and messed up his hair with my hands.

"Have you become mad?" He shouted angrily.

"Any doubt?" Came a voice from the door. We turned to look who it was. Dammit!! It was Ana.

She was looking at both of us giving a weird expression. I gazed at her who looked ready to kill me with her looks. I could sense blush covering her cheeks. I blew a flying kiss in air to which she turned her face away smiling.

Ish didn't see all this as he was busy setting his air.

Ishaan laughed loudly.
"Finally, you accepted that your husband man is mad!" He said in between his laughter.

"You're not less than him." She said coldly.

Ishaan's bright smile dimmed as he came to know that she was still angry with him. 

"Come down soon" She added.

"AREN'T YOU LISTENING? COME DOWN SOON!!" She shouted at the top of her voice.

"Harshu, she is telling to you!" Ish chuckled as he said. 

"Idiot, she is not telling to me, but you!" I said as I laughed.

"You guys have sorted out!! " He asked me. I just stood dumb. 

"Yo bro! Tell me."

"Well. She is angry with you."

"What?! Then is she not angry with you?"

"Your duffer was playing with me."

"WTF?" Ishaan exclaimed.

"I am saying the truth." I said as I remembered the previous night's events.

***********FLASHBACK***********

Now, what's wrong with Ana? Why is she behaving like this? She spoke to me well before. Is she upset with Ishaan? Still, she could have talked to me. I'm not at fault. What happened to her all of a sudden? My mind was flooded with thoughts as I paced towards my room.

As soon as I entered the room, my eyes began to search for HER. At last, my eyes caught the sight of her. She was standing at the balcony, gazing the dark sky. I wrapped my arms around her from behind. She tried to wriggle out of my hold. She couldn't. My hold on her tightened and I held her more closer to me.

"Ana. What happened? You were alright a while ago. What happened to you, all of a sudden?" I asked her softly.

"Harsha. Leave me. I am feeling sleepy. Good night." She said as she tried to get out of my hold again. She failed again.

I turned her towards me. She had her head lowered, facing the floor. I lifted her chin up. She didn't look at my eyes.

"Ana, Look at me." I told her. She continued admiring the floor, testing my patience.

"Please wifey, don't torment your husband man like this on his birthday." I whined.

A small curve made its way to her face and as usual, my stubborn darling tried to hide that. Now, I know that Mrs. Harsha is showing her acting skills.

I pecked her cheek hoping she would gasp or shock. Unfortunately, it was me who got shocked because, she didn't react. I was taken aback. So, she is in a bad mood. How will I convince her now? Oh my god. My trance was broken when I saw her going out of the room. I pulled her hand and as a result she landed on my chest. I, like a hungry lion grabbed that opportunity at once and wrapped my arms around her.

"Harsha. Leave me." She said without looking at me.

"Look at my eyes and say anything darling!" I said.

She lifted her head and looked at me. Our eyes, thereby met. Her hazel orbs just, just did something to me. I moved closer and closer. My hands slowly cupped her cheeks and I leaned on. It was like I was enchanted by her spell. I am seeing her and feeling her after a long time. A very long time indeed!

As I leaned on more, she tried to push me, but in vain. I held her hands and clasped them into mine.

I could sense the changes in her with my each move. I let out a mischievous smile as I continued.

"Darling!" I whispered in her ears. She closed her eyes immediately and took a deep breath.

"Harsha. Leave me. I am not going to speak with you." She said looking at my eyes. I was completely astounded by this behaviour of hers.

She is definitely angry with me. The reason is still unknown. I have to know that.

"Okay. Don't talk. But it doesn't mean that I would leave you now or ever. " I told her.

She remained still. My patience level was slowly coming down.

"Ana. Do speak to me frankly. There should be a transparency between us. Just tell me what's bothering you. Did I do something wrong, which is responsible for your anger? Just open up. I will rectify my mistake." I told her .

"No. You won't rectify." She said bluntly.

"How can you say that? Don't you trust me ana?"

"This is not about trust, harsha."

I looked at her. She took a deep breath. I stamped my foot,pushed the vase away in frustration and turned  looking at the balcony.

"OKAY FINE. I GIVE UP." She said in a mere whisper. My ears cocked up. I didn't turn.

"You came late here right? So was little miffed with you. But when I found tears in your eyes due to Ishaan, I couldn't control myself. But later on, when I found you guys have pacified, I thought why shouldn't I be angry with you for being late here. And hence, I didn't talk. But you know what Harsha? I am a bad actor. I can't pretend to be angry with you." She said as she neared me.

But I didn't turn. She slowly snaked her arms through my neck from the back.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUSBAND MAN" She said in a slow tone. 

I didn't react. She jerked suddenly, as the clock struck twelve. 

I am happy that she was pretending. But somewhere, I felt that I am making her long for me again. I can still sense the soberness in her eyes when she said that she was upset as I didn't come soon. Am I still lagging behind in keeping her happy? My mind was flooded with these random thoughts.

"Harsha..." Her voice broke my chain of thoughts. She stood in front of me, cupping my face with her hands. 

"I know harsha, what you are thinking about. Stop feeling guilty. I agree that I was upset since you had promised me that you would come soon but you didn't. It's okay. I understand. But, my happiness lies within you. Only you. So, don't ever think that you're not making me happy. You only can make me happy. Only you can." She said as she smiled.

I slowly wrapped my arms towards her and pulled her more close to me. 

"I LOVE YOU ANA" I said as I nuzzled my face into her neck. 

"I LOVE YOU TOO MY HUSBAND MAN" She said. 

She drifted from me and chuckled. I narrowed my eyes.

"You looked too cute when you stamped your feet, harsha" She said pulling my cheeks. 

"That was too bad ana. You teased the birthday boy." I said. 

"You deserve a punishment" I said winking at her. 

"What punish..." before she could complete, I lifted her in my arms and slowly walked towards the bed. She gasped as she clutched my shirt tightly. 

I could notice her heart thumping loud. Mine too. I slowly placed her on the bed and laid beside her. She turned towards me with shock. I knew what she expected me to do. But I can't proceed without her permission.

"Harsha..." she called.

"Hmm..."

"I am ready" She said looking at my eyes.

Gosh. She read my mind correctly. I smiled at her.

"Are you sure ana?" I asked her.

She placed her lips on mine answering me. This night is a new and real beginning of a new phase in our beautiful life.

"Duh. Duffer is so mean. She spoke with you and not me. This is too bad. But, Ishaan will not give up soon. I will make her talk and pull your leg along with my duffer." Ishaan said determined.

I laughed at him.

"Anyways. Happy for you both bro." Ish said as he hugged me.

"But the tease was then right tho. I just thought to pull your leg bro. But again, your ana darling never fails to surprise me!" Ish said.

She never fails to surprise me as well. This birthday is the most memorable birthday in my life.
