TWELVE. fred squared

KISSING SOMEONE you hated seemed miserable. Almost disgusting.

But kissing someone who you've grown fond of and actually seemed to care about you was a different story.

Alexa liked kissing Freddie that night and had really weird dreams about it.

Who knew kissing a nerd.. kissing someone you liked had this effect on you.

Della and Chase seemed to take notice of Alexa's change per se.

She'd completely ripped the skits that her and Della worked months on to replace them with her dreams. Alexa didn't bother to tell her friends about the kiss with Freddie and didn't tell them what the skits were truly about.

Same could be said about Freddie. He hadn't told anyone about his kiss with Alexa, but sometimes it was all the young boy could think about. He'd been so infatuated with Carly that Alexa seemed to be a background character. Of course, that all changed.

The two of them would give passing glances to each other in the halls, but other than that; Alexa and Freddie still seemed to be frenemies.

"Hey, have you seen Fred's new video?" Della asked.

"No, why?"

Fred (or Lucas) was a huge internet personality. Bigger than iCarly and Do Something combined.

Della pulled her beanbag chair closer to Alexa and pressed play on the video.

"Hey, guys. If you saw the last iCarly then you heard that Freddie Benson say he doesn't like my Fred videos." Lucas spoke. It intersected with Freddie saying he didn't think Fred was funny, "Thank you for crushing my feelings. Now I'm not gonna post any more Fred videos ever again. Internet, I click you goodbye."

Alexa laughed as the video ended and went back to working on scripts for Do Something.

"What's funny?" Della asked, "This is one of the biggest names on the internet right now and Freddie killed him."

"Fred isn't making videos anymore. That's great news for Do Something, Dell. We could possibly get half of his viewers while he's on hiatus." Alex said.

"Hiatus? He just said he wasn't making anymore Fred videos."

"You think he's serious? This is just a ploy to get more viewers on his side. Do you know how many people watch all three of us combined? iCarly viewers are going to dig into Freddie like he's a piece of meat."

"I don't know, Lex. He seemed to be serious."

Alexa shut her notebook and faced Della, "This is a good thing for us. People aren't gonna watch iCarly because of what Freddie said. We use our liking of Fred to gain more viewers."

Just because Alexa liked Freddie didn't mean that she would drop how she felt about iCarly. Her show meant everything to her. She literally put her blood, sweat, and tears into Do Something.

Freddie had subconsciously helped Alexa in more ways than one. He might get another kiss for that.

SCHOOL THE next day was unbearable for Freddie. He'd gotten glares from people, been booed, had things thrown at him, and been tackled to the ground.

He stood by his locker and soon felt a piece of paper thrown at him.

"Look, man this is—"

He cut himself of when found the culprit. He held a small smile when he grabbed the paper and stood. Alexa leaning against the lockers with a smirk on her face.

"Can't believe you killed Fred. I'm surprised that you haven't been arrested for your crimes."

Freddie rolled his eyes, "Are you gonna ridicule me? Everyone in school have already tackled me to the ground... including Della."

"I knew she had some violence in her. Just can't believe Fred was the one to push it out of her."

"Hit me with your best shot."

Alexa smiled, "You've already done me a huge favor by saying what you did about Fred. No need to punish you anymore more. Even if it does sound found destroy you."

Though Alexa seemed to carry the same spirit as Sam, Freddie actually liked being around her because she wasn't as violent as what Sam was. That's probably why he liked her so much.

"I can't believe this many people me over my opinion."

"That's the internet for you Freddie. No matter how right or wrong your opinion is, people are gonna hate you. It's internet 101, baby."

Freddie couldn't process another the word baby from Alexa as one of his, now ex-friends, and grabbed him by the head and pushed him to the ground.

Alexa only watched, her facial expression staying the same.

"I would help you, but that would make me a Freddie Benson ally and I can't have that right now."

"Hey, Benson," Sam called, "this Fred thing is getting way outta control."

"Ew, your friends are coming. Good luck with all your Fred business."

Alexa left Freddie laying on the ground and caught up with Chase who'd been talking with his nerdy A.V. friends.

And if things couldn't get worse of the iCarly group, they had discovered a website that gained over 90,000 people who agreed that they would not watch iCarly anymore.

"You gotta get your girlfriend to help us." Sam said.

"Who?"

Sam scoffed, grabbing Freddie by the arm and bending it in unimaginable way, "Alexa, Fredward!"

"She's not my girlfriend." He seethed, "How could she help us anyway?"

Carly smiled and the next day, the iCarly gang found themselves in the Do Something studio.

"So? Will you help?" Carly asked.

Alexa leaned on the computer cart. Expressing fake thoughts as she looked over at Della and Chase.

"What do we get in return?" Alexa asked.

Carly shrugged her shoulders, "We can give you a shoutout on iCarly."

"That's how much you think my help is worth?" Alexa laughed, "That's like taking a babies bottle and throwing it away in front of its mother, which is easy. No deal."

"Fine, there's gotta be something you want." Carly said, "We'll doing anything."

"Almost anything." Sam spoke.

"There's nothing you could do, Shay. We've already gotten 90,000 of your viewers. We should be thanking you." Alexa smiled.

Alexa glanced at the three friends and her eyes finally landed on Freddie. She swore to herself. If she didn't like him and didn't see the sadden look on his face she would've continued laughing.

She sighed, "Fine. We'll help. No cash prize needed."

Alexa grabbed her phone out of her pocket and began to rapidly typing on it.

"What are you doing?" Carly asked.

Alexa didn't say anything and told Della to grab Kendall.

"We're going to Shelby, Idaho." Alexa said, "That's where Fred lives. I'm sure he would be so excited to meet the people who hate him. Della's sister is gonna drive us."

"Why do you have Fred's number?" Sam asked.

"Because I keep my opinions to myself."

Della and Kendall soon returned, "I love Idaho." Kendall smiled, "Come on traffic is bad at this hour."

Everyone followed Kendall downstairs. Alexa slowly followed behind as she grabbed her jacket that sat on top of one of the props.

As she reached for the doorknob of the studio, it had opened, Freddie standing close to the girl.

"Sorry, I just... wanted to that you."

Alexa furrowed her brows, "For what?"

"Helping us."

Alexa sighed. She and Freddie hadn't spoken about the kiss at all, but she knew she wanted to kiss him right now for some odd reason. Maybe because she actually felt bad for someone that wasn't herself, Della, shockingly Chase, or Kendall.

"I'm helping you, Freddie. Not your weird little iCarly friends." She said, "But I guess our shows can't have a rivalry if you're losing all your precious viewers."

Freddie smirked, "Yeah, of course. But when we get our 90,000 viewers back, then what?"

Alexa smiled, not saying anything else to the boy as she passed him. She had to give it to him, that was a good one... too good. She honestly had nothing else to say.

"You okay?" Della asked.

"Yeah, come on. We got some scheming to do."

THE TWO webshows finally made it to Fred's treehouse and while Carly insisted on knocking, Alexa did not. She pushed the hatch of the treehouse opened and helped Della and Chase inside and leaving the iCarly group to themselves.

Fred, also known as Lucas, stepped from the shadows, holding a lemonade in his hands.

"You're here."

"Yeah, I literally told you we were coming." Alexa said.

"Look, Freddie is really sorry that he hurt your feelings." Carly said.

"Yeah, I'd like to hear that from the guy in the bumblebee shirt."

Carly and Sam pushed Freddie forward and he sighed.

"I'm sorry that I hurt your feelings. I didn't mean to."

"Okay. I forgive you."

"You do?"

"Nope."

"What?"

"Say you think my videos are funny."

Freddie paused, "No."

Carly, Sam, and Della all shouted at the boy while Chase continued to rock awkwardly back and forth on his heels.

"Why should I say it?"

Alexa rolled her eyes, grabbing Freddie's arm and dragged him into the corner where no one could see them.

"We drove four hours for this and you're telling him no?" She asked in a hushed tone.

"Why should I say that when I don't think it's true?"

"Because we drove four hours for this!" She said through her teeth.

"I don't care. His videos aren't funny and—"

Alexa rolled her eyes, grabbing Freddie by his shoulders and kissed him. She wanted to do it anyway, so why not now to get Freddie to say yes to Fred.

His hands instantly found her hips and he kissed her back.

It had been weeks since they last kissed and doing it while their friends and truly, a stranger stood on the other side of the treehouse walls was pretty risky, but they hadn't driven for four hours for nothing.

Alexa pulled away first, fluttering her eyelash as she spoke, "Will you say it now?"

"Fine."

Freddie dropped his hands to his side and stepped out, Alexa following behind, "Too easy." She muttered to herself.

"Your videos are hilarious. I don't what I was thinking when I said I didn't get them. What's not to get?" He asked almost sarcastically, "You're a comedy wizard."

"Well?" Sam asked.

Carly followed, "Are we cool?"

"He's chuckling." Chase said.

"I see him chuckling." Carly whispered, "Why are you chuckling?"

"'Cause you guys are cute."

Alexa furrowed her brows, "Cute?"

"Yeah, I was never mad. I love iCarly." Lucas smiled, "Love Do Something also."

"But you said that Freddie hurt your feelings." Chase said, "That's why you stopped making your Fred videos."

"Come on." Lucas smirked, "I'm not gonna stop making the Fred videos."

"I knew it." Alexa smiled, "He only grew in popularity because of the war."

Lucas pointed, "Smart girl."

"So you did all this for publicity?" Carly asked.

"Totally."

"Just to make your Fred videos more popular?"

"Not just Fred videos, iCarly and Do Something too."

"What—"

"When's the last time you checked your website ratings?"

"I don't know, like a few weeks ago."

Alexa pulled her phone out of her pocket and showed the iCarly group their ratings, "People love drama. Just because 90,000 people claim to stop watching iCarly doesn't mean people aren't checking out your website."

With all the out of the way, Lucas agreed to film skits and be on iCarly and Do Something.

This whole war thing helped everyone involved and defused war really helped with the ratings of everyone's websites.

But, with all that out the way. It was time that Della hit Alexa with the most important question of her life.

"How'd you get Freddie to say that stuff about Fred?"

"Any guy who finds anyone remotely attractive will do anything they say."

"So... he likes you?"

"I didn't say that. I said he found me attractive. Which most guys do." Alexa smiled, but she knew that Della wasn't going to budge, "I also told him I know someone who gives killer wedges."

Della nodded, "Makes sense."

Della was Alexa's best friend, but telling her that she kissed Freddie not once, but twice would be like pulling teeth out of her own mouth.

For now, it was secret. It might be a secret forever, but who knows. Things aren't always what they seem.
