SIXTEEN. joint shows joint problems

ALEXA WAS definitely, one hundred percent fine... on the outside.

Being "just friends" with Freddie was something that she has buried deep, like, really deep within her soul.

And because she's buried those romantic feelings down she actually felt... average.

She seemed fine to everyone else and that's how she would present herself on her show tonight.

Chad stood with the camera in his hands and as soon as he began counting down Carly and Freddie barged into their studio.

"Um, can we help you?" Alexa asked with furrowed brows.

"Sam's in jail and my dad is going to be watching iCarly for the first time tonight and Spencer has a date and can't cancel on her because she's on the way, so can you please help us with iCarly tonight?"

"Was she the one who shoved the chili dog down the dude's pants?" Della asked.

"Yeah, how'd you know?" Freddie questioned.

"Kendall was there when it happened."

Alexa waved her arms and faced the others, "We have our own show tonight, which, by the way is starting any second now."

"Please?" Carly asked once more.

Now, Alexa wasn't heartless. She wasn't going to let Carly's dad miss one of her shows and it was his first time watching.

So, the Do Something gang gathered their belongings and quickly made their way upstairs.

And because Do Something started earlier than iCarly, they went ahead and started their show and because they decided to help Carly, their plans had been changed drastically.

"Here on Do Something we always find ourselves doing something." Della smiled into the camera.

"Even if we don't want to." Alexa added, "Like tonight, we're going to be joining forces with our friends at iCarly for a very special episode, but for now, enjoy the newest episode of Chase: The Race."

A stupid skit that Chase had gathered in less than twenty minutes and for some reason the Do Something audience actually enjoyed.

While the skit played, Spencer bust through the door, saying that he felt bad for saying no to her earlier, so Carly began to explain what everyone would be doing for both shows and soon enough, iCarly began.

But they should've known that none of what Carly had planned was going to go her way. In fact, things didn't go so well for anyone that night.

By the end of the show, Spencer's choked up canned fish into his dates face, who then called everyone freaks, but they got both shows done and Carly's dad was hopefully watching from "Nebraska".

Everyone had separated to clean up. Freddie and Alexa left alone to pack their things up from the show.

"Thanks."

Alexa turned, holding the Do Something camera in her hands.

"For?"

"Helping us with iCarly tonight."

Alexa scoffed, "I don't do things for free. All my work comes with a price." She smiled softly, "But it was for her dad, so no worries."

Freddie watched as she continued packed and pushed on the topic a little further, "What about your parents? You never really talk about them."

"The same reason you don't talk about your mom. She's crazy." She laughed, "But they're in and out. Which is why I have so much time on my hands. The reason I do my show in the first place. Just to be able to do something."

Freddie didn't really see much of a change in Alexa's demeanor when she spoke of her parents, but she didn't seemed bothered.

They were always in and out, which is why she spent most of her time staying with Chase or Della most nights. She was able to think creatively without someone barking orders at her constantly.

She had a creative mindset and was able to explore that when she was alone, but with Do Something, she knew she wanted to do that with her friends because without them she wouldn't be Alexa.

"It's not a sob story or anything." Alexa continued, "Just busy parents and a kid who wants to do something."

Do Something was so much more than what most people knew of. This was something that could help her and the others in the future. College, future jobs, possibly getting out of Seattle, who knows.

"You know, if you need a place to stay I'm sure you could crash at my place." Freddie said.

"I rather have a dog rip my tongue out than staying in a room with your mom for 24 hours."

"Fair."

Alexa glanced his way, "But thank you."

Just friends... just friends... that is... until that psycho set them up.
