SEVENTEEN. round five: icarly vs. do something vs. nora
WEBICON WAS one of the biggest events for anyone on the web and this would be Do Something's first time going and the first time the trio would be traveling alone.
Alexa stood in the Do Something studio with Chase and Della as they were pre-packing for the trip.
"Hey, Freddie just forwarded this message to me." Chase called.
"Don't open it. It's chain mail. Once you open it your life is over." Alexa said, "More than what it already is."
"At least the person I kissed didn't kiss another person in front of me."
"And the girl you like kissed him instead of you." Alexa smiled, "I think that says enough for the both of us."
"Just open the email." Della said.
The three of them surrounded the laptop and Chase clicked play on the video message.
A girl named Nora Dershilt had appeared on their screens and had practically begged the webshow rivals to come to her birthday.
"No, she's a loser." Alexa said.
"That's not nice." Della pouted.
"I mean... she doesn't have the friendliest face." Chase said.
"Because she doesn't have friends!" Della exclaimed, "We could be her friends."
"She's friendsless in the first place, Del." Alexa said.
"Please?" Della begged, "It will take 15 minutes max."
Della wasn't taking no for answer. So, with many complaints and aggravated sighs later. The trio boarded the same train as the iCarly gang and headed to Nora Dershlit's house.
"She has a big house." Alexa said, "You know what that say about people with big houses?"
"What?"
"They have bigger secrets."
Chase furrowed his brows, "No one has said that."
"You live in an apartment complex. You haven't heard anything but your fish snoring."
"Yeah," Sam sighed, "looks like a rockin' sweet 16 party."
"Can you improve your attitude?" Carly asked.
"Maybe, with some kind of meditation my mom can't afford."
"No way!"
The group turned, looking over at the door as Nora opened the small window on it and poked her head through the screening.
"I can't believe you guys really came! I'm Nora."
"Hey, I'm Carly, and this is—"
"I think she knows who we are." Alexa smiled, pushing past the others, "The video message proves so much."
"Enter, enter!" Nora smiled, allowing the others inside.
But once inside, the group saw no guest whatsoever.
"So where's everybody?" Della asked.
"I don't know. I told everyone at my school's local youth group that I invited the iCarly and Do Something kids, but I guess they didn't think you'd really come."
"Oh, well, maybe some of them will show up soon." Carly said.
"Look, no one is coming unless we say we're here." Alexa said.
"Anyway..." Freddie smiled, "so I see the clown's here."
"I love clowns." Della said, "Except the one with the balloon."
"Yeah, he's 87 years old, and his name is Cramps." Nora smiled, "Oh, and here, I'll put on some music. Oh, here's a tasty tape."
"Tape?" Freddie questioned.
Nora put the cassette tape into the player and a slower song began playing. Nora, quite literally, pushed Alexa into Freddie and she (Nora) made her way towards Chase.
That dance sequence didn't last long because Cramps collapsed in Sam's arms and they had to call 911. He wasn't dead yet, but they wouldn't know just yet.
"Is Cramps gonna be okay?" Nora asked.
"Maybe. Probably not." The paramedic said, "Happy birthday!"
"Gee, Nora, I'm really sorry your clown had an aneurysm." Carly said.
"I'm sorry he had an aneurysm while I was dancing with him." Sam quipped.
Nora began crying in her chimney. Quite literally sobbing into the chimney.
"I'm so down to leave if you are." Chase whispered in Alexa's ear.
"Let's go."
Della grabbed their arms and held them in place.
"This one said we were only gonna be here 20 minutes and it's been an hour!" Sam shouted, "I want to go to our hotel, order room service, and get ready for Webicon tomorrow."
"It's her birthday, and she's sobbing into her fireplace." Carly said.
"Her clown had an aneurysm." Freddie added.
"And that's our fault how?" Alexa asked.
"We can't just leave her here alone." Della said.
"I wonder where her parents are?" Freddie asked.
"Yo, Nora," Sam called, "where's your mom and dad?"
"They took a vacation to Stanker, Wyoming."
"Wait, you're their only kid, and it's your 16th birthday?" Freddie asked.
Della stepped forward, "And they picked this week to take a trip to Stanker?"
"Well, they got a good deal on the plane fare. Usually round trip tickets to Stanker are 300 bucks, but they got a super saver deal for only 290."
"Wow, 10 dollars off... so worth it." Alexa muttered.
"They had to snatch that opportunity."
"If you just heard a loud crack that was my heart breaking." Carly said.
"Nora, we're really sorry that this birthday isn't going so great." Freddie apologized.
"It's okay. I've had worse birthdays."
"Dude, your parents abandoned you, nobody showed up to your party, and then your clown burped and had an aneurysm." Sam said, "No offense, but how could you have had a worse birthday?"
Nora began crying once more and Alexa sighed.
"Look, no need to bring up trauma because therapy does exist, but like I said, no one is coming to this party until they know we're actually here." Alexa said, "So let's just get our little cameramen to make a video for us, put it on the internet, and have the party of Nora's life."
"Oh! Thank you!" Nora said, hugging Alexa, "I could just..."
She began to gag and ran away from Alexa and threw up in her fireplace.
"We're never doing this again." Alexa muttered.
THE PARTY when on with people actually having a great time. Nora had even been invited to get mani-pedis with some of the girls next week.
"Best night ever!" Nora cheered.
"You're welcome." Alexa smiled, "Now, we've gotta go! Bet the traffic from your party is going to be so heavy."
"Oh, must you go?"
"Yeah, we really need to get to our hotel." Carly said.
"Uh, where's our luggage?" Freddie asked.
"Oh, I put all your bags down in the basement so no one would grope them." Nora said, "Follow me."
The group followed Nora into her basement and Nora allowed Carly, Sam, Della, and Chase to take a look into Nora dad's recording booth.
"Well... that sounds for them, but I'm gonna get our stuff and go."
"Wait!" Della called, "Go inside the booth beside ours! I wanna see if I can hear you scream on the other side!"
Alexa rolled her eyes and Nora gestured Alexa and Freddie inside the booth next door.
Nora quickly locked everyone inside the booths.
"I'm sorry, Carly, I couldn't hear you." Nora smiled, "Again, please?"
"I said, why did you close the door?"
"Oh, because I can't let you leave."
Alexa pressed her face against the glass and beat her fist against it.
"Oh, Alexa!" Nora smiled, "What did you say?"
"You're a freak, Nora! A freak!" Alexa shouted, "Why'd you separate me from the sane people?!"
"Sane?" Freddie questioned.
"Everyone can see the romantic relationship you and Freddie have. It's so nice to see." She smiled, "But I think it would be nice to see you guys get along again. No one is leaving."
"What do you mean, you can't let us leave?" Sam asked.
"I mean that tonight was the first time in my life I was ever popular. You're angels that were sent to me to change my life! I can't let my angles fly away!"
"Nora, we have to go!" Freddie shouted.
"No. I can't that happen."
"Okay, I'm calling Spencer."
Carly began patting her pockets and her phone was nowhere to be felt. Actually, none of them had their phones.
"Looking for these?" Nora smiled, holding their phones in her hands.
Nora only laughed and left the group alone overnight before returning with her chicken in her hands and a plate.
"I trust you all slept well." Nora smiled.
"Nora, I've never hated anyone more than you right now." Alexa said.
"Thank you."
"Can you please let us out of here?" Carly asked.
"Oh, no."
"Why not?" Chase asked.
"Because with you as my friends, I'm finally popular! I can't go back to being the lonely nub with only a chicken to talk to."
"People are gonna know we're gone. We're supposed to be at Webicon this morning." Alexa said.
"That's why I contacted them this morning, said I was Carly and Alexa and cancelled your appearance!"
"When our families don't hear from us, they're gonna call the cops!" Carly shouted.
"Which is why I used your cell phones to text message your families and tell them everything's going just fine."
"SO WHICH photo of myself do you guys think I should use on my SplashFace page, side smile or ponytail?"
"Look, Nora." Sam called, "If I don't get food in the next hour I'm gonna eat Chase."
"Get her some food Nora!"
"Fine, I'll get you food." Nora smiled, "If I can get something from Chase, Alexa, and Freddie."
"What?" Freddie questioned.
"A kiss!"
Alexa laughed, placing her hands on the glass, "Nora, I'm flattered, but you're insane."
"Oh no, I'm kissing Chase through the glass." Nora said, "You and Freddie on the other hand... have free range."
Freddie soon stood next to Alexa, "Wait, what?"
"Come on you two." Nora smiled, "We know this chemistry between you two is undeniable. Carly and Freddie were just a ploy to bring you two close together. Enemies to lovers."
"Nora, I don't think—"
Soon, a bang was heard from the other sound booth.
At this point, Nora had set it up so everyone in each both could hear Nora from the outside and they could hear each other from the inside. A tiny little window being in both booths so the groups could see each other.
Chase's face had been pressed against the glass by Sam and Nora rushed over kissing the glass as if she was kissing Chase.
Nora giggled, almost insanely as she rushed back over to Freddie and Alexa.
"I'm waiting." Nora smiled, "And I think everyone is hungry."
"Nora, Alexa and I are friends. Nothing more."
She held her smile, "Then no food."
Alexa was starving at this point. She'd do anything.
So, with a huff she grabbed the sides of Freddie's face and kissed him. It came as quick as it left.
"Yeah!" Nora cheered, "Anyone want Chinese?"
Nora left the groups alone once more and Alexa sat down in her booth with her head in her hands.
God she was hungry, but to kiss Freddie for it almost didn't seem worth it anymore.
Feelings came and went for Alexa and she liked Freddie and just like before Freddie had liked Alexa and she hadn't known, but maybe he fell for her harder because she said that they were just friends.
Nora had done her job without knowing it. Those feelings came because quickly and neither of them could talk about it because the others would hear.
Nora had done her job perfectly.
THE EVENTUAL rescue came from Gibby as he received a video message containing every 4th word.
He came to the rescue and Nora was arrested for kidnapping.
As for Webicon... maybe next time.
For now, because of the case, none of the iCarly and Do Something kids couldn't speak of Nora or what she had done publicly just yet.
As for Alexa and Freddie and that kiss they shared. That's a story for another time.
For now, we'll say that it would be talked about. If it's a good or bad conversation is up to you.
