FOUR. the randy jackson shrine
A LOT happened during the last couple of weeks.
Do Something had continued to grow in popularity and the same could be said about ICarly.
And of course, Alexa still had her invisible feud between the ICarly gang that they didn't know about.
"...I think that's why Ms. Briggs should stop adopting cats and find a husband." Della said.
"What are you talking about?" Alexa asked.
"Don't you think it's weird that Ms. Briggs teaches at school but hates kids?"
"I just think she's weird and old and needs a life."
"Exactly." Della smiled, "We've only seen Ms. Briggs stuck in school! What if we saw her outside of this place?"
"I would cry... a lot."
"Alexa," Della said, grabbing Alexa's shoulders and pushing her back and forth, "what if we had a new segment on our show where we interviewed teachers about their everyday lives."
"You said it yourself; Ms. Briggs hates kids. She's not gonna let us interview her."
"Okay... Oh! What if we just spied on her!"
"You want to spy on Ms. Briggs?" Alexa questioned, "She's mean and scary and you want to spend your free time spying on her?"
"Um... yes! I bet Chase has all the equipment we would need to spy on her too."
Alexa sighed. This was something that Della obviously wanted to do and who was she to tell her best friend no?
"Fine! But you're not spying on her by yourself. I'm going with you."
"Oh, yeah... I wasn't gonna go in the first place." She smiled, "You and Chase are gonna go and I'll be editing the footage for our website."
"How long have you've known how to edit?"
"As of right now, 23 hours."
CHASE HAD the equipment he needed in order to spy of Ms. Briggs.
He and Alexa had been sitting in her front yard and she had been doing nothing but vacuuming her floors.
"Can we leave?" Alexa asked, "All she's done is vacuum and cause pain to my eyes."
"Look, Della thinks this is a great idea."
"Then why isn't she here?"
"She didn't want to be arrested."
Alexa sighed and took the spy glasses off. They had been recording absolutely nothing since they've gotten there.
"Look, she's coming out."
Chase pulled Alexa down as Ms. Briggs came into view.
"We gotta go in." She whispered.
"In? Like inside?"
"I'm glad you know what in means." Alexa faced him, "You said Della would love this."
"I didn't say that."
"Words are words and they almost all mean the same thing." She argued, "We want to get the scoop on Ms. Briggs. We have to go inside."
"Alexa—"
"I dare you and we at Do Something always accept the dares."
Chase let out a heavy sigh and made sure the coast was clean when he grabbed Alexa's wrist and dragged her inside Ms. Briggs apartment.
"It's a fake pie!"
Alexa and Chase turned and saw Freddie and Carly.
"I feel like we've been set up." Alexa whispered.
"How?"
"Don't question me." She said and brushed past Chase, "What are you guys doing here?"
"There's a bee outside and—"
"I meant in Ms. Briggs apartment!"
Alexa didn't have her question answered as they heard the doorknob jiggle and the four of them ran into one of the rooms.
"Now what do we do?" Freddie asked.
"Suffer." Alexa answered, "That's what we deserve."
"You know, this might not be so bad." Chase smiled, leaning towards Carly, "Just you and me... and Freddie and Alexa, together, alone."
"Are you really doing this right now?" Alexa asked.
"We are in a serious situation right now. This is no time for you to bust a move." Carly said, "We cannot let Ms. Briggs find us."
Alexa felt up against the door, she squatted down and put her spy glasses close enough towards the doorframe that it could still get video of Ms. Briggs.
"We just have to wait it out for now." Alexa said.
And that's all they did for hours as Ms. Briggs continued to workout.
"I think I found the light switch." Freddie said.
Once the light was turned on they were instantly show the huge Randy Jackson shrine she kept inside.
Freddie let out a loud gasp and Alexa threw her hand over his mouth.
She pulled him close and continued to shush him.
Everywhere they looked... Randy Jackson covered every inch of the walls.
Chase picked the glasses up and put them on, recording the room he was stuck in.
"Why does she have all this stuff?" Chase asked.
"Could've been worse." Alexa said.
"What's worse than Randy Jackson?"
"Simon Cowell."
"Yeah, dog, you did your thing."
Freddie had bumped into the Randy Jackson cardboard cutout and Carly soon opened the door and saw Ms. Briggs coming close.
"She's coming! Hide!"
Carly turned the lights off and her and Freddie stood behind the cutout while Chase and Alexa crouched behind dolls she had lined up on a dresser.
"We're so gonna revenge on, Della." Alexa whispered.
"Well, good afternoon, Randy Jackson." Ms. Briggs cooed, "Oh, you are looking spiffy today."
Alexa took Chases spy glasses off and placed them on the dresser so Ms. Briggs could be recorded.
"Would you like to see how toned my gluteus are?" She said, stretching out in front of the cut out.
Soon, she left and the four of them sat on the floor.
Sam and Della were on the way to recuse them but for now, they sat on the floor eating Randy-Yos.
"Look, I'm gonna comfort Carly." Chase whispered.
"Comfort Carly over me?"
"I don't know who would want to comfort you." Chase barked, "Look, this is my one chance to show Carly I'm cool."
"By comforting her in a room full of Randy Jackson's?"
"I can sense you wanting to yell at me, so don't." He said, "Please?"
This had been Chase's longest crush and the fact that it was on Carly Shay was no surprise to anyone.
"Fine—"
"I dare you to comfort Freddie."
Alexa did a double take as she tried to process what he had just said, "I was going to let you do it!"
"Oh... well, you said it yourself. Here at Do Something, we do something. No dare excluded."
"I never said that last part."
"Words are words and they almost all mean the same thing." He smiled.
"You make me sick... get away from me."
Chase slid over towards Carly and Freddie held a box towards Alexa's face.
"Want some Fruity Randy-Yo's?"
Alexa smiled softly and grabbed the box from Freddie.
"So, what we're you two doing?" He asked.
"Spying on Ms. Briggs. Della thought it would be a cool idea for our show."
Freddie nodded, "I looked at your stats. You average 400,000 viewers each show. Impressive."
Alexa smiled. She meant what she said, she didn't think that Freddie was a loser. Nevel Papperman was a loser, but Freddie was just a nerd.
"Thanks." She smiled, "Do you still have that undeniable love for Carly or have you moved on?"
Freddie squinted his eyes. He didn't know if Alexa was going to make fun of him or... no he thought she was going to make fun of him.
"And if I say yes?"
"Then you have some competition." She pointed.
They glanced over at Chase who awkwardly sat next to Carly trying to muster up something to say.
"But I think if you wanna make Carly jealous all you have to do is move on."
"Move on?"
"Yeah, nothing makes a girl shiver in her boots more than losing the attention of a guy who actually cares about her."
Freddie watched as Alexa dropped the cereal into her mouth.
He knew that he couldn't just move on from Carly like that and Alexa made it sound easy.
But he would take the thought into consideration.
HOURS HAD gone by and by now Ms. Briggs was playing her bagpipes.
Carly had gotten a phone call from San letting them know that her and Della were outside.
"She needs a plan." Carly said.
Alexa grabbed the phone from Carly's hands.
"Call Ms. Briggs and keep her distracted for as long as possible and we'll leave out the front door." She said.
"Give us 60 seconds and go for the door."
Alexa closed the phone and gave it back to Carly.
Soon, the bagpipes had stopped and once they were sure they could come out, they slowly opened the closet door and slowly made their way towards her front door.
But that plan quickly turned into a bust when Sam could point out what was exactly in Ms. Briggs' fridge.
Sam and Della quickly tried to distracted her but Freddie had stepped on the bagpipes causing Ms. Briggs to face them.
"Surprise!" The four shouted.
"Yeah, happy birthday, Ms. Briggs." Sam smiled.
"Let's sing our public domain birthday song!" Della said.
The six teens sang a Jolly Good Fellow when they were suddenly cut off.
"Whoops, maybe we'll get it right in the decade" Alexa smiled, "We should go."
"Stop!"
"Happy... Hanukkah?"
"Kwanza?"
Ms. Briggs ushered the six to sit on her couch as she inspected her damaged bagpipes.
"Are they okay?" Della asked.
"No!" Ms. Briggs answered, "He dented my blow stick and punctured my squeeze bag."
Della quickly hit Alexa's shoulder when she saw a small forming on her face.
"Freddie will pay to have your bagpipes fixed." Sam said.
"And you think that'll get the six of you out of trouble?"
"It should." Alexa answered, "You don't know the things we've seen and heard today."
"You broke into a teacher's home, damaged property, impersonating a dairy agent. I could have you all expelled. I might even call the police."
"Or" Alexa stood, "you could let's us go and we'll pretend we didn't see your glutes."
"Look, Ms. Briggs we never meant to sneak into your house." Carly said.
"Then explain why you did."
"Well—"
Alexa sighed, cutting Carly off, "We wanted to showcase how teachers were outside of school because here at Do Something... we do something." Alexa faced the couch, "Who came up with that?"
"You—"
"I didn't want your answers, Chase."
"Oh, your webshows... I've seen them. Nothing more than mucus in the nose of the digital age."
"Did she just call our shows boogers?" Carly asked.
"Our shows are great." Freddie said, "Thousands of people watch it every week."
"Thousands?"
"Those are pretty big boogers." Sam smiled.
"Hmm," Ms. Briggs started, "well since you're so interested in showing your viewers what teachers do outside of school, I think I have a solution that will benefit us all."
"Having us run away and waving your fist in the air yelling, "you meddling kids"?" Della asked.
"No." She answered, "I won't suspend you from school or call the police if you let me perform an original bagpipe song on your webshows."
"We're not desperate." Alexa said, "I rather you call the police."
"Why would you even wanna be on our shows?" Carly asked.
"Because, I see this as a great opportunity to show the world some culture, to teach young people about fine music."
"Look. Ms. Briggs—"
"Put me on your webcasts or I will have you suspended for breaking into my house and I will file a report with the Seattle Police Department. Your choice."
THOUGH ALEXA had begged for Ms. Briggs to just called the police, they decided that Ms. Briggs would appear on ICarly and Do Something simultaneously.
Chase was able to work his "nerd magic" and have Freddie's camera broadcast both ICarly and Do Something at once.
"Our show may look a little different tonight and that's because we're here at the ICarly studio and broadcasting our webshows at the same time." Alexa said.
"Don't sound too excited." Della nudged.
Carly held the small paper in her hands as she read the script from Ms. Briggs.
She soon started and the six could only watch and they were slowly losing their entire audience.
"Hey, don't you have a green screen?" Alexa asked Freddie.
"Yeah, why?"
Alexa squatted down and grabbed the USB drive from Chase's backpack.
"Chase put all the footage that we got from Ms. Briggs' place and put it on here. All we have to do is show the people."
Freddie pulled the green screen down and put the USB in his computer and the footage they had footer at Ms. Briggs' was playing on the screen.
"We're getting the audience back."
"Of course we are." Alexa smiled, "I came up with the plan."
The next day at school Ms. Briggs was instantly surrounded and applauded.
"Della." Alexa called.
"Yeah?"
"You are so paying for the damages to my eyes."
"I know."
