your name is vigilante?
JADA WALKED DOWN THE BLOCK, wanting to get some fresh air before she called an Uber to take her to her apartment. She kept thinking about the Adrian guy and how weird he was.
She couldn't understand how someone's idol could be Peacemaker of all people. Idolizing someone like Harley Quinn could have been better! But Peacemaker? Well, maybe Smith had been right about Adrian having mental issues.
"Yo, look what we got here," a deep voice said from ahead of Jada, causing her to look up from her phone. There were four guys standing a few yards away from her, all of which seemed like absolute creeps.
"How much money is it gonna be?" another one asked, causing his buddies to snicker.
Jada rolled her eyes and turned down the alley to her left, wanting to disappear from them quickly. But, as soon as she took a few steps into the alley, she realized that it was just a dead end. "Great," she breathed out under her breath, not wanting to fight all of these guys at the moment.
One of them whistled, causing her to slowly turn around and face all of them, a bored expression on her face. "Where do you think you're going? You can't extend your hours for us?"
"Sorry, I don't waste time on ugly asses like all of you," she replied, raising her eyebrows.
"Ugly? You're the fucking ugly one, bitch!" one of them said, immediately getting angry and taking a threatening step forward.
Jada stood her ground. "Weren't you the ones that wanted to have sex with me a second ago?" she countered, crossing her arms.
"I'd rather do this, now," the angriest one said, curling his fist up and aiming it right at Jada's face. When he went to go punch her, she dodged his fist and pushed his arm to the side, using her other hand to punch him instead. "What the fuck!" he yelled, holding a hand up to face in shock.
"Oops, sorry," she teased, licking her lips.
"Let's get this bitch," one of them behind him said before they all slowly walked over, wanting to defend their friend.
"I'd really like to see you all try," she said, provoking them even more.
One of them bent down and jumped forward, trying to tackle her. She quickly grabbed both of his wrists, stopping him from moving any further, before she pulled him down more and kneed him in the nose. He yelped out in pain just as the other guy came from her left.
She threw the man's hands down and dove out of the way, causing the man to hit the opposite wall. "Oh, come on, that's all you guys got?" she taunted, pushing up from the floor in one quick motion, landing in a superhero pose before she got up.
"We needa double team her," one of them realized.
"Oh, finally a good idea!" she exclaimed, faking a smile on her face. She could have easily pulled out her gun and shot all of them, but she didn't want to have to deal with the police.
"Come on!" one of them yelled and they all ran at her once, all in different directions.
One of them tried to punch her, but she ducked down, causing his fist to go in his friend's face. "Fuck!" he yelled. Jada swept her leg under the two of them, causing them to fall over.
Somehow, though, one was able to grab the back of her hair and pulled her back. "Got you now," he seethed, taking out a pocket knife from his back pocket.
Before Jada could even realize what he was doing, he had let go of her hair and had fallen backwards. She furrowed her brows and turn around, seeing a knife stuck in between his eyes, blood dripping down his face.
She then looked out where the opening of the alleyway was, seeing someone dressed in a blue and black suit with a helmet that covered his face. Who the fuck is this? she thought, slowly getting up.
"What the fuck did you do?" she questioned him, a shocked look on her face. She didn't care that he had killed the man, but she had everything covered. And, again, she didn't want to deal with the cops. She just wanted to scare the men off.
"Helping you out, what does it look like?" he replied, before he threw another knife at another one, straight at his heart. The man fell against the wall, sliding down it.
"Oh, my God, what the fuck!" the one next to the dead man screamed, looking down at his dead friend.
"There's a lot more where that came from!" the blue and black suited guy said, a hint of joyfulness in his tone. He pulled a sword out from his back holster before he went up to the man and sliced through his stomach, making him bleed out.
Jada watched him carefully, unsure of who he even was. He obviously had a lot of weapons that he knew how to use, with a suit that look well-made. She then looked at the last guy that was to her left, seeing that he was too scared to even talk or move.
"Who's left?" the masked man asked sarcastically before he turned to look at the guy next to Jada. "You are!"
"Okay, no, no, no, no," Jada spoke up, holding her hands out to get him to stop. "Who the hell are you?"
"I'm Vigilante, duh!" he replied like it was obvious.
"Obviously you are, but who are you?" she questioned, not seeming to understand that 'Vigilante' was actually his name.
"I just told you," he said before he looked at the scared man. "Psh, this girl." The man nodded rapidly, not wanting to get killed by him.
"Your name is Vigilante?" she pronounced and he nodded. "That's original," she commented sarcastically.
"Eh, it's really not," he responded, not getting the sarcasm. "I kind of stole it from the news stations when they talked about me," he told her. "Now...can I get back to saving you?" he asked, taking another step forward towards the man.
"I didn't need saving," she corrected, giving him a look. She then looked towards the scared man. "Get out of here. If you tell anyone what you saw, I will come and find you and then kill you myself. Got it?"
The man nodded rapidly once again before he ran past Vigilante, wanting to escape with his life. However, Vigilante seemed to have a different idea. He pulled a two-tone pistol out of his sidearm, shooting the man without even looking over his shoulder.
Jada gasped just as the man crashed to the ground, dead. "Are you kidding me? I was letting him go," she explained in annoyance.
"Hey, no loose ties. Come on, that's like the number one rule when you kill people," Vigilante said with a shrug, before he went over to the two men and pulled out the knives from their bodies. "I thought you'd be against that mercy stuff."
She furrowed her brows at him, so confused. "I usually am, but I'm supposed to be doing something far more important than this shit, and I don't need the cops being on to me," she told him, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Important shit with Peacemaker?" Vigilante asked eagerly.
"Excuse me?"
"Me and him are best friends. We basically tell each other everything," he revealed to her.
"Oh, really? That's funny 'cause he's never mentioned you before," Jada told him, pursing her lips together.
"For privacy reasons, duh." He put his pistol and sword away, cleaning the blood off of the knives with a cloth that was in his suit. "He wouldn't want to give away where I am."
"Yeah, okay, sure."
"I think you're just jealous that Peacemaker and I are besties and you guys aren't. It's okay, I get it. You know what will make it better? If we were together! How about that, huh? You know, fighting crime and making out? Totally sweet, right?!" Vigilante suggested, being completely serious even though his tone suggested otherwise.
Jada scoffed, having enough of his mocking that she thought he was doing. "You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Now, I'm gonna go and I'm gonna leave these dead bodies to you. And if so help me, the police show up to my apartment tonight, you are fucking done." And with that, she walked out of the alleyway, leaving the man to himself.
"Oh, come on, you're not even gonna give me a chance?" Vigilante called out from behind her, but she paid no attention. It seemed like he had taken a quick liking to her back in the restaurant, even though Jada didn't know who he was.
Because she couldn't risk anyone seeing her like this, since there was probably blood splattered on her, she decided to walk back to her apartment complex. It took her ages to do so, but at least she was getting exercise and she was letting off some steam.
Why the fuck was the world so against her lately? First, it was Smith killing Rick. Then, it was Waller assigning her to this stupid Project Butterfly shit with Peacemaker. And now, it was this Vigilante freak? What the fuck did she do to deserve this?
She walked up the stairs at her apartment complex, wanting to say hello to her cats, hop in the shower, and then doze off to sleep. But, when she made it up, Harcourt was banging on Adebayo's apartment window. "What the fuck are you doing?" Jada asked, her nose scrunched.
"Peacemaker killed a butterfly and now the cops are after him 'cause he practically blew up the place," Harcourt responded angrily before Adebayo opened the curtains from inside, revealing her and another woman in pajamas. "New girl! You're driving! Peacemaker just killed a damn butterfly!"
"Oh, you gotta be fucking kidding."
First Vigilante and Jada reaction!! I cant wait for when she finds out he's actually Adrian LMFAO. But it seems like he's already gonna pretty attached to her after their few minutes of interaction last chapter...
