that's what she said.
JADA SNUCK UP TO PEACEMAKER'S TRAILER, a gun that wasn't registered to her name in her hand. If you really thought she was going to wait until the mission was over to kill him, well, you thought wrong.
Murn had sent all of them home, so Jada decided to take that time to kill Smith without anyone knowing it was her. Of course, some of the team would suspect her, especially Harcourt, but they would have no evidence since she wouldn't leave any behind.
She walked up the front door, seeing that it was left cracked open. Dipshit, she thought to herself before she slowly opened the door wider, keeping her hand tightly onto the gun. She smelled weed, making her nose scrunch up in disgust.
Once she walked further into the trailer, she looked over to see a shirtless Smith in bed with a naked woman and another shirtless guy wearing a helmet that looked extremely familiar. "Holy fuck!" Jada shouted, quickly shoving her gun away so none of them saw it. She also quickly looked away from them, not being comfortable in the situation.
"Dude!" Peacemaker yelled in shock, not expecting her arrival at all.
"My dream has come true," Vigilante muttered to himself, his eyes wide underneath his helmet. He didn't think he'd see the girl again so quickly, but he definitely wasn't complaining.
"Uh, who's this?" the woman asked, giving Smith a confused look.
"No one, she's just on my team. Jada, what the hell are you doing here?" Smith questioned.
"You know, I can just go —"
"Fuck, you were here to kill me, weren't you?" Smith asked, his lips pursed together.
Jada turned towards him, her eyes wide to fake innocence. "What? No! I just wanted to check up on you because of what I said. That was...mean, yeah, really mean. And I shouldn't have said it," Jada lied, even though it wasn't very believable. Her plans were now ruined, which infuriated her.
"Cut the bullshit. You've wanted to kill me ever since we started this mission and I figured out why," Smith replied proudly, not seeing to care that the mission was classified and there were two individuals who weren't supposed to know about it.
"Oh, really? Why?"
"Because I killed your boyfriend, Rick Flag," he answered, causing Jada to tense up slightly.
"Boyfriend?" Vigilante repeated, worry in his tone.
"Ex-boyfriend," Jada corrected, crossing her arms over her chest. She was trying really hard not to be impulsive and just shoot all of them.
"Oh, phew," Vigilante sighed with a confirming nod. Jada gave him a cringed look, her nose scrunched up.
"Look, I was told to — Wait, ex-boyfriend? You're mad at me for killing your ex-boyfriend? Most girls would be thrilled to have their exes killed!" Smith exclaimed, giving Jada a weird look.
"Yeah, I would like to watch mine get killed," the woman stated with a shrug.
"I don't fucking care. He was a good man and you killed him," Jada argued, an angered expression plastered on her face.
"Why'd you guys break up then?" the woman asked intriguingly, her eyebrows raised. It was like her breasts weren't out in the open for everyone to see. Jada just pretended not to notice them.
"No, you know what? I'm not gonna stand here and talk to three naked people, this is absolutely ridiculous!" Jada exclaimed before she went to go walk out of the trailer.
"He cheated then, didn't he? Judging by your reaction to the question. Been there, done that. Well, doing it right now," the woman said with a chuckle, looking at Smith who wore a smug grin.
Jada stopped in her tracks, turning back around. She licked her lips, glancing at all three of them, her eyes lingering on Vigilante for a second longer. She had to admit, he did have a pretty nice body, but she couldn't think about that right now.
"Fine, yes, he cheated. Happy?" she admitted, tilting her head.
"You're trying to avenge a man who cheated on you? That's stupid," Smith said, shaking his head.
"Yeah, you're worth soooooo much more than that. And I could show you how much more you're worth. You know, after I kill your ex even more than he already is for cheating on you. I would never cheat on you," Vigilante said, a grin on his face even though no one could see it under his mask.
"Thanks, but I don't need you saving my self worth like how you 'saved' me in that alleyway," she replied sarcastically, giving him a look.
"Wait, you two know each other?" Peacemaker asked with his brows furrowed.
"Barely," Jada answered just as Vigilante said, "Yes, I saved her life!"
"Dude, you didn't fucking save my life. I had it handled," she told him angrily, poking the side of her mouth with her tongue. "I'm not some damsel in distress that all men can fantasize over, Jesus Christ."
"I'd let you fantasize saving me any time," the woman whispered to Smith, even though it was loud enough for all of them to hear.
"Yeah, that's it, I'm going," Jada gave up, holding her hands up in defeat before she tried to walk out again.
"Waller told me who you were when she was telling me about Flag," Peacemaker called out, causing her to stop in her tracks once again. However, she didn't turn around to face him. "Said I might have to worry about you if I ended up killing him, but you weren't a big deal since the only reason you got as far as you did was because of him."
Jada sucked in a breath, looking over her shoulder at him. "That's what she said?" she asked, her voice breathy. She couldn't fucking believe it. The only fucking reason she had done so well in her career was because of her...boyfriend? There was no way. She was perfectly qualified on her own to rise up in rank.
"That's what she said," Peacemaker repeated before he snorted at himself, making Jada give him a look. "Sorry, sorry. I just thought you should know. You know, since Waller is the real person you should be going after."
Jada clicked her tongue, "Yeah." She glanced at the three of them again. "If any of you ever mention I was here, the last thing you will ever see is my bullet going straight into your face," she told them with a curt nod before she walked out of the trailer and into her car, sitting in the driver's seat to contemplate what he had just told her.
So everyone was right. I only got as far as I did because a man helped me. Wow. I can't believe it's so fucking crazy for a woman to be noticed without a man stepping in and helping. Guess I was wrong and those people were right. Great. Just...great.

Jada stood inside the truck they were to be taking on the mission to help load it up with supplies to get ready for it. "I'm gonna be honest about something here. Homunculi freak me the fuck out," Smith said to Adebayo as they began to load up the truck.
"Homunculi?" Adebayo asked.
"Yeah."
"It's plural for homunculus. It's a tiny miniature person," Economos explained. Jada rolled her eyes, taking the bags they brought and setting them down. After she did so, she hopped out of the truck with Economos and started to walk back inside.
"Yeah, I don't like what they're up to. I don't like what they fuckin' do," Peacemaker told them.
"How would you know?" Jada asked, looking back over her shoulder with her eyebrows raised. Even though Smith hadn't told anyone about their little encounter in his trailer, she still hated the guy.
Smith thought for a moment before he said, "Doll Man, you ever meet him?"
"Doll Man?" Adebayo repeated in confusion.
"He turns small," Murn told her monotonously.
"He calls himself Doll Man?" Adebayo questioned.
"Yeah," Smith answered. "Barrett M82?" he asked as he looked at the bag that held the Barrett M82.
"Yep," Harcourt said.
"Nice!" he exclaimed before he turned back to Adebayo. "You ever seen a one-millimeter finger? Gives me the heebie-jeebies," he shuddered.
"Thought you'd be used to that size after seeing your dick every day," Jada commented, making Economos laugh out loud.
"My dick is actually very, inhumanly large, thank you very much," he replied before he walked back outside with the bag in his hand. "Nobody told me I had to deal with fuckin' homunculi," he continued on about the topic.
"Well, who's saying you gotta deal with them now?" Adebayo queried. Jada picked up another bag and began to bring it outside after the two.
"You kidding me? I found a miniature spaceship in the apartment of the chick I had sex with. You guys know! The one who was really into having sex with me. She came, like, four times?" Smith bragged, trying to jog all of their memories.
"We know who she is. We don't need to know how much she enjoyed having sex with you," Adebayo told him and Jada nodded, finally agreeing with her.
"What if it's a clue?"
"It's not," Jada and Adebayo said at the same time, giving him the same look.
"Fair. I was just trying to slip it into conversation. Hope nobody noticed. My bad. Still, fuckin' hate homunculi," Smith went on, causing Jada to roll her eyes before she put the bag into the truck.
"Where's this tiny spaceship now?" Murn asked him.
"Adebayo's desk, under my lunch," Smith answered.
"John," Murn called out.
"Oh, fuck," Economos whispered as he headed back inside.
"Hey, I want it back when you're done with it, Dye-Beard!" Smith yelled, causing Economos to stick up the middle finger. "Oh, shit. Is Project Butterfly homunculi that team up with bard-bodies sluts that wanna control us?" he asked.
"You wish," Jada said under her breath, knowing that Peacemaker wouldn't mind to have a 'slut' he could sleep with.
"No, but who's the guy that's peeking out behind the trash can?" Adebayo asked, looking past Smith. Jada looked in that direction, seeing that all too familiar helmet once again.
"Fuck, it's — it's Vigilante. He's trying to be helpful," Smith told them, making Jada sigh in annoyance. What was with this guy?
"Hey! Get out of here!" Jada yelled with wide eyes, her hands placed on her hips.
"What?" Vigilante replied, stepping out from behind the dumpster. "I'm just looking from behind a trash can. It's a normal thing to do, especially when my two favorite people are here," he explained, making Smith and Jada glance at each other with a confused look.
"The hell it is!" Harcourt shouted since she had just come outside.
"Are you a psychiatrist?" Vigilante called out.
"What?" Harcourt said in disbelief.
"Then don't tell me what's normal! Maybe my secret identity is a psychiatrist and I know what's normal," he argued, holding his hands out before he began to walk away.
"Finally," Jada breathed out.
"If you're a psychiatrist, we're all screwed. Get the fuck out of here!" Harcourt told him sternly, making him spin back around.
"I was about to go, and then you had to say that! Now if I acquiesce, I'll look and feel small," he challenged, crossing his arms.
"Did you just learn that word today?" Jada asked him with her eyebrows raised.
"Maybe," he answered, still standing there.
"Vij, bro, come on. Be cool," Smith told him, having enough.
"I just wanna make sure you're okay. I don't trust these people besides Jada," Vigilante pointed out, making them all, except Smith, look at Jada in confusion.
"What the fuck," Jada muttered, staring at the guy in disbelief.
"I'm fine," Smith assured him.
"Just remember, even if they end up being okay to 'work with', they're still not gonna be good friends," Vigilante explained. "And none of them is the type to be a best friend!" he said loudly. "Jada is the type to be my girlfriend, though," he added sweetly.
"Okay, what the fuck is your problem?" Jada seethed, taking a threateningly step forward before Smith placed his arm in front of her to stop her.
"Okay," Smith said, trying to calm all of them down, but mostly towards Jada.
Vigilante chuckled. "I'm just chuckling even thinking about it," he said dramatically.
"Okay, bro."
"If one of them does become a friend, it should be her," Vigilante pointed at Adebayo, "because there's a bunch of rumors going around about you being racist and, you know, frankly, it's a little embarrassing for me. As if I become a racist by osmosis, even though I mostly kill white people, so...Catch you guys later! Especially you," Vigilante said, waving directly at Jada before he ran off.
"You've got to tell him to shut the fuck up and leave me alone," Jada told Smith, and he nodded slowly as he watched his friend run off.
"Hey, isn't that guy wanted on multiple counts of murder?" Economos asked as he walked over to the truck.
"Yeah, so how does he know you, Reyes?" Harcourt asked suspiciously, giving her a look.
Jada rolled her eyes and answered, "Long story short, he tried to save me in alleyway when these guys tried to fight me even though I didn't need his help. Now he's just been stalking me or something, I don't know."
"Hey, don't go getting all big-headed. He's actually obsessed with me, so that's why he's here," Smith told her.
"Um, okay?" Jada replied, not seeing how that was supposed to insult her since she didn't even like Vigilante.
"Shouldn't we have, like, arrested him or something, though?" Economos questioned.
"We have bigger fish to fry. We have a United States Senator to assassinate by the end of the day."
