11th street kids.

JADA HOPPED OUT OF THE TRUCK, double-checking that her gun was loaded up before going inside. "How many people have you killed?" Adebayo asked out of the blue, making Jada give her a weird look. "Sorry, that was, uh, a personal question, I shouldn't have asked."

"No, no, you're...fine. I actually don't really know the answer. If I kept track, I'd probably become mentally unstable like Smith by now," Jada replied and Adebayo nodded slowly.

"We're not even sure they're in there," Jada heard Harcourt tell Smith as they made their way out of the truck. "Just take your pistol."

"I finger bang you, I'm not using my pinky," Smith expressed, causing Jada to scoff in disgust.

"That's a disgusting phrase," Adebayo commented.

"You're just saying that 'cause lesbians don't finger bang," Smith told her.

"We finger bang more than the rest of the world combined," Adebayo argued.

"Okay, you're right. I just forgot women had fingers for a second, okay?" Smith admitted.

Adebayo scoffed. "How do you think we grab things?"

"Not in life, in sex," Smith corrected.

"Oh, so you just thought women's fingers just fell off during sex?" Adebayo asked.

"I don't know! I wasn't thinking, okay?" Smith exclaimed.

"Clearly."

"He just doesn't know the actual touch of a woman, don't blame him," Jada spoke up, making Smith glare at her and Adebayo laugh.

"Hey, what's the new helmet for?" Harcourt asked Smith, but he didn't get to answer because Vigilante had started to rev a chainsaw. "No!"

Adrian laughed. "What?"

"You're not taking that in there!" Harcourt reprimanded.

"I can't hear you! This thing's so fucking loud!" he yelled over the noise.

"Turn it off!" Jada chastised, her eyes wide.

Adrian quickly shut the machine off, not wanting to be yelled at by her. "You're not bringing that," Harcourt told him.

"Hey, I agree with Peacemaker. We can't go in there unprepared," Adrian replied and Smith nodded in agreement.

"We don't even know that there are butterflies in there," Harcourt said slowly.

"Oh, come on, please?" Adrian begged. Harcourt just stared at him, not backing down. "Ah, fuck! I'm never, ever gonna kill someone with a fucking chainsaw. It's so not fair!" he whined before he closed the truck. "Total fucking bullshit."

"Don't worry, you'll get your chance someday," Jada assured him as they walked away from the truck.

"You really think so?" Adrian asked with optimism in his tone.

"Yeah!" Jada said with a little too much enthusiasm before she looked at Adebayo and mouthed, "No." The woman snorted before she covered her mouth.

"Aw, that is so sweet of you to say that," Adrian told her and Jada just shrugged, playing it off humbly.

Harcourt and Adebayo then went over to each other to do rock-paper-scissors to see who they would be pairing up with. "Fuck," Harcourt whispered once she lost. Adebayo smugly laughed, making the blonde roll her eyes. "Vigilante, you're with me. We'll check the bags around back. Peacemakers, you, Reyes, and Adebayo question the employees in the front office, find out what you can."

"Hey, you know...I can go with Vigilante if you want. Since, you know, he likes me the most," Jada told her with a somewhat complacent tone.

"Really? You wanna go with him?" Harcourt asked with a shocked expression.

"He'll probably listen to me better than he will with you. I'm trying to save you the hassle," Jada replied. She honestly didn't know why she wanted to be with Vigilante. Probably because she really didn't want to be with Peacemaker.

"Yeah, okay, fine," Harcourt agreed. "Change of plans, I'm going with you guys and Reyes is with Vigilante."

"Aw, you want to be close to me, don't you?" Smith teased the blonde woman.

"Shut the fuck up and let's go," Harcourt scolded, walking swiftly past him.

"Hey, what was the ro-sham-bo for?" Adrian asked Jada once she started walking over to him.

"Don't worry about it," Jada assured him.

"That makes me worry about it more," Adrian voiced before they made their way into the building.

"So, yeah, we got an issue. The place is crawling with butterflies," Adebayo told them over the radio.

"Let's keep our guards up, then," Jada whispered to Adrian.

"I got your back," he whispered back as he followed her inside, holding their guns out in front of them. They carefully made their way around some boxes until they got to some where they could easily open one without being seen.

Jada quickly took out a pocket knife and began to cut the box open. "You cut that open so well," Adrian complimented.

"Shut up," Jada whispered, but her tone wasn't exactly annoyed. She then opened the box and took out a jar of the goo stuff that the butterflies eat, showing it to Adrian before she put it back. She pressed her finger on her earpiece and said, "That shit they eat, there's literally thousands of boxes of it in here. This could be the distribution hub for the whole country. I'm also wondering if there's a whole lot more butterflies than we thought."

"Copy," Harcourt replied.

Jada looked up at Vigilante, who gestured over to the front of him. She looked over the boxes to see one of the workers jump up high in the air, definitely not something a normal human could do. She looked back at him, her eyes wide.

"Hey, check it out," he whispered before he began to move from their spot. Jada quickly followed him, holding her gun out in front of her. They were able to make their way through that one part of the facility without getting caught, going through to another part.

Once they entered the new area, Jada noticed that there were a bunch of windows with workers on the other side of the glass. She instructed Adrian to crouch down with her as they peered through the windows, seeing what looked to be a lab that made the goo.

They continued to watch until a worker turned around, making eye contact with her. "Ay, mierda," she breathed out as she quickly ducked down. But the worker, that was a butterfly, let out a shrill scream to alert the other butterflies that they were there.

Jada and Adrian immediately started to run away as butterflies jumped through the glass behind them to try and catch them. They ran to a fenced area, where Adrian closed the fence door and locked it. The both of them shot at the butterflies through the fence, knocking some of them off the fence before they ran away.

They made their way into another area and Jada shut the metal door behind them and locked it. She heard the butterflies pound against the door, trying to get it open.

"There's a factory behind the warehouse, and some butterflies have trapped us inside of some sort of...computer room," Jada told the team into the radio, looking around the place cautiously.

"Copy. We're on our way," Adebayo replied.

"Be careful," Jada responded before she looked at Adrian. "What do you think this place is used for?" she asked him as she slowly walked around.

"Maybe where some butterflies wanna get it on," he joked with a goofy laugh. Jada rolled her eyes at his dirty joke, making her way over to a computer. "Sorry."

She tapped on it, but nothing came up. But, she then heard a growl come from the other side of the room, causing her to look over and back up. "Whoa," Adrian whispered and Jada realized that it was a gorilla.

She placed her hand on her earpiece. "There's a fucking g—!" She was cut off by the gorilla swinging it's arms at them, sending them flying across the room towards different places. Jada's back hit against the wall, causing her to groan as she fell to the floor.

The gorilla came charging at her so she quickly pulled out her gun and started shooting, hindering it for a few seconds so she could find somewhere to hide. She didn't know where Adrian was, but she hoped he had fell somewhere where the large gorilla couldn't see him.

She then peered out from her hiding spot, seeing that the gorilla had spotted Adrian, who was getting up from the floor. She aimed her gun at the gorilla once more, shooting at it to distract it from Adrian. The gorilla turned around and roared before Adrian had took out his katana and slashed its arm, making it roar even louder.

It turned around and swiped at Adrian, sending him flying against the wall once more. "Adrian!" Jada yelled before the gorilla started to dash at her. She quickly dove out of the way, trying to dodge it. She rolled underneath a table, which the gorilla picked up and threw against the wall to reveal her under the floor.

It picked her body up and threw her towards the other side of the room, making her hit the wall again, this time even stronger. She coughed out in pain, her saliva tasting like blood.

The gorilla made its way over towards Adrian again before the door bursted open with flames, hitting the gorillas skin and making it back down. The floor had shook and so had the ceiling, making Jada look up at it confusion. But, it had made the gorilla back down for a few moments, making her glad since she didn't want to die, or watch the gorilla kill Adrian.

She then saw Adebayo come into the room, and she tried to get up to warn her but it was too late. "GORILLA!" Adebayo yelled before the gorilla punched her, sending her flying in the other direction.

Smith came running into the room, his gun pointed at the gorilla. But it had turned and grabbed onto the gun, bending the metal. "Fuck!" Smith yelled before the gorilla punched him, sending him into a rack of supplies close to where Jada was. She tried to roll out of the way, her body in extreme pain.

Harcourt then came into the room and started to shoot at the gorilla from behind, making it grunt in pain. It then grabbed a shelf and threw it at the blonde, sending her down. It then ran at her to finish the job, but Adebayo had managed to get up and shoot at it.

The gorilla ran over to Adebayo and knocked her gun out of her hands, making her fall over. Since the gorilla was distracted with Adebayo, Adrian had managed to come up behind it and stab it in the side with his katana. The gorilla howled out in pain before he swung at Adrian to knock him over.

Jada crawled on the floor to try and get her gun, watching as Smith jumped onto the gorilla's back and started punching him. The gorilla flipped him over onto his back and yelled, "Die, human!" It went to go smash down on Smith's face before a chainsaw revved through the gorilla's body.

Jada watched as Economos cut through the gorillas body, a shocked expression on her face since she didn't expect him to be there or be able to do that. She grabbed her gun and looked up to see Adrian extending his arm out to help her up. This time, she took it and he helped her up, some of her bones cracking like knuckles from her body being bent out of shape.

"Economos?" Smith said out loud in shock.

Economos breathed out heavily, "Yeah." He then extended his arm out for Smith to help him.

Smith took it and exclaimed, "You fucking stud!"

"Yeah — yeah — yeah, I am," Economos exhaled before he laughed, "I'm — I'm a fucking stud!" Smith nodded along with a smile on his face, getting hyped.

On the way back from the warehouse, the team jammed out to 11th Street Kids by Hanoi Rocks. Even though they were all bloody and bruised, with thankfully not any horrible injuries, they were excited with their success.

"Accidents happen about every day, but that day was special followed by a heat wave," Smith and Economos sang along to the song as Adrian danced in his seat. Jada scoffed at him, followed by some laughter at their antics. "Rush hour just began, and I ran for my life."

Jada bobbed her head to the song, feeling the happy vibes all around. "Harcourt! Not bad, huh?" Smith called out with a grin.

"Yeah...not bad," she replied with a small smile.

Jada laughed at Adrian's dance moves, attempting to copy him since they were so stupid. Economos laughed out loud, watching it all unfold.

"Dude! You fucking killed a gorilla with a chainsaw!" Smith yelled excitedly.

"Who fucking does that?" Economos exclaimed, making Jada laugh even harder.

"You motherfucker! You do!" Smith pointed at him.

"Maybe next gorilla," Economos laughed.

"You motherfucker!" Smith repeated and they all laughed along happily as they continued jamming out. Normally, Jada would have rejected all of this, but she finally felt like...she was part of the team.

Adebayo had driven the truck back to their video store HQ, where they had started to tell Murn about the situation that had just happened. "Also, I don't mean to brag, sir, but it becomes a brag just by saying it, we defeated a gorilla!" Adebayo exclaimed.

"Technically, I think it was a super-gorilla since we pulled a butterfly out of its brain," Economos added.

"Yeah, and it talked," Jada informed him, moving her messy hair out of her face.

"No, definitely a super-gorilla. Last time I fought a gorilla, was at Burning Man four years ago. This was significantly weaker," Smith said enthusiastically.

"So...we guess this means butterflies can use any life form as a host," Harcourt brought up, focusing on a topic that was more important.

"Chihuahua?" Adrian spoke up excitedly.

"Probably wouldn't fit," Harcourt told him.

He chuckled, "Would be cool, though."

"That wouldn't be cool at all. Why would that be cool?" Harcourt questioned as she gave him an odd look.

"You tell me," he replied, making Jada snort at his stupidity since she was still on a high after their fun car ride.

She glanced at Smith, who also gave him a weird look. "It wouldn't be," she answered.

"There's your answer," Adrian told her before he laughed out loud crazily.

"Well, this is good work," Murn continued, ignoring Adrian. "We're gonna need to sort through this and see what we can find. Importantly, we want to see if we can trace where the raw amber fluid originally came from. Finding the source of the butterflies' food may be key to defeating them. But that can wait until tomorrow. You all have earned a rest."

Jada smiled excitedly, silently thanking Murn for the much needed rest that they all deserved. "Ah, the EconoGOAT killed it!" Smith complimented as Economos laughed. "Good game!"

"Yeah! I mean, it would have been a lot cooler if Economos came in and he was like, 'Hey!', and then he tossed me the chainsaw across the room, and I'm like 'Solid toss, bro', and then I killed the gorilla," Adrian went on, making Smith stop and stare at him. Jada grinned, being entertained.

"What are you talking about, man?" Smith asked in confusion.

"I had just said how much I wanted to kill someone with a chainsaw, like, fifteen minutes earlier, and then Economos just coincidentally comes in and kills someone with one? I mean, it kinda seems like he was trying to fuck with me a little," Adrian complained.

"Fuckin' Thimble," Smith replied before he walked off without him.

"Thimble?" Jada repeated in puzzlement.

"Oh, uh, don't worry about it," he told her awkwardly.

"Well, now that's gonna make me worry even more," she told him mischievously, repeating what he had said earlier. He chuckled, a goofy grin on his face. "So, I guess I'll see you later if I'm able to walk out to my car," she said with an arched brow before she walked past him, a smile on her face.

She walked over to her car, pulling out her keys to get it open. "Hey, Reyes," Harcourt said from behind him, making Jada turn around. "I was right."

"About what?"

"About Murn."

"Wait. He's a butterfly?" Jada questioned, her eyes wide. Harcourt nodded. "How'd you find out?"

"I confronted him and he told me," Harcourt revealed.

"Shit. Well, what do we do?"

"Nothing. We can trust him," Harcourt assured her.

"You sure?" Jada asked, not buying it.

"Yeah. If he was untrustworthy, why would he be helping us take down his own kind?" Harcourt challenged and Jada nodded slowly, understanding. "Just don't say anything to anyone else. Me, you, and Economos are the only ones that know. I want it to stay that way."

"Yeah, I got it," Jada told her. Harcourt nodded and walked away towards her own car. Jada breathed out in shock, not expecting that plot twist whatsoever. She wondered what Murn's plan was since he was a butterfly himself, but he did prove to be trustworthy up to this point.

Jada was just going to be forced to trust him either way.
