Tanjiro's pov - 2 years ago

"T-Tanjiro you're back!" Muichiro said, running up to me for a hug. "Muichiro give him some space" Yuichiro said, rolling his eyes while pulling Muichiro away from me.

"It's fine Yuichiro," I said, patting Muichiros head gently. Muichiro took my hand and looked me in the eyes "I am so glad you're back! I missed you so much" he said happily with his cheeks turning into a light shade of pink.

"I missed you too, Mui, '' I said and ruffled Muichiro's hair. "Will you stay here for night?" Muichiro asked me while holding my hand.

"I would love to Mui but I have to be home for today, I just came here to visit" I said, Muichiro looked sadly on the ground and let out a silent "okay..."

"Hey don't be sad, I'll come tomorrow as soon as possible okay?" I said, grabbing Muichiro by his cheeks gently. Muichiro looked at me and smiled brightly "okay, I'll be waiting!".

Muichiros pov

When Tanjiro left, me and Yuichiro headed back home. "You like that guy huh?" Yuichiro said blankly while looking at me. My face immediately turned red as I yelled out "N-Nii-san! Wh-what are you talking about?!" I yelled out embarrassed.

"Don't act stupid, it's clear you like them" Yuichiro said rolling his eyes. "i-I don't... I really don't know what you're talking about... Tanjiro is just a friend" I said quietly. Yuichiro just rolled his eyes again and kept walking.

...

"Oh you're back! You are right on time, I just Finished making dinner!" Our mother greeted us at the front door.

As we sat down at the table I felt... weird.. I had a strange feeling about something, like something was about to go wrong somehow.

"Muichiro? Are you okay? You are pale as a ghost" my mother said touching my cheek. I looked at the table in front of me and nodded slightly "yeah I am fine, just tired" I smiled.

"Mmm I see, you can get some rest after dinner, you've been working hard the whole day"

"I'll go now... good night"

I then walked into my room and closed the door behind me. I laid down on my bed and tried to fall asleep.

...

I woke up due to loud screaming and yelling coming from the kitchen. I looked to my right hoping I saw Yuichiro sleeping on his bed but no, he wasn't there.

The screams were getting louder, it was my mother screaming. Then there was a loud bang that silenced everything. I grabbed my pillow and held it close to my chest as I slowly walked towards the door.

As I opened the door I slowly walked through the hallway before looking behind the corner to the kitchen. My heart sank. My mother and father were lying unconsciously on the floor covered in blood.

"Mom! Dad!" I yelled out rushing over to them. I dropped on my knees and shook with them "WAKE UP! PLEASE WAKE UP!" I cried out.

Suddenly, the groaning I heard before was getting louder and louder. I slowly turned to look behind me and saw... a demon. It was standing there looking at me with his mouth and hands covered in blood.

I backed away and cried louder. It came closer and closer to me as I cried "NII-SAN! NII-SAN!" I cried out hoping Yuichiro is okay.

"MUICHIRO!" Yuichiro called out from another room. I quickly woke up and ran to Yuichiro. He grabbed my hand and ran outside with me. It was cold slowly night that made running worse than it already was.

I tripped and fell into the cold snow. "WAKE UP! WE NEED TO RUN!" Yuichiro yelled out helping me stand up. I looked behind us and saw the demon running towards us. I froze in fear... I couldn't move, I was too scared.

Yuichiro suddenly grabbed me by my shoulders. "Run somewhere! Hide! I am gonna slow him down!" "No, I can't leave you here!" "I said go! I'll be fine!" He then ran towards the demon. "NII-SAN!! DONT!" I cried out.

He didn't stop, he just kept on running towards it. I turned around and ran away with tears streaming down my face.

As I kept on running my legs started to give up on me, I couldn't run anymore. I dropped on the ground and panted loudly. "Mom...dad.." I covered my face with my arms "nii-san..."

Tanjiro's pov - Present time

I opened my eyes and looked around me. "Ugh my head hurts" I said to myself "where am I?... Where is Nezuko?"

"Ah you're awake" a girl with a blue butterfly pin walked into the room. "How are you feeling? Do you remember anything?" She asked.

I shook my head "no.. nothing.. Where is my sister?"

"Oh you mean that demon?"

I nodded

"One of the hashiras took her to master, she'll be taken care of later"

"What do you mean take care of?!"

"Not only her, the master is going to deal with you too. Do you realize that you are carrying a demon around?"

"She's not dangerous! She can control herself!"

"Tell that to the master, I couldn't care less. You'll join them tomorrow at the meeting, it's your chance to explain."

Next day

I sat on the floor waiting for others to come. Master was already there and most of the hashiras were too but one was still missing.

"Ugh where the heck is that emotionless freak, I am getting bored of him"

"Don't talk about him like that Sanemi, you know it's not his fault"

"He forgets all the time! I told him about the meeting like two hours ago!"

"It's still not his fault, he can't do anything about it"

I listen to their conversation while sitting on the floor in front of them. "Who are they talking about anyway?" I asked myself.

"Maybe someone should go get him? It doesn't seem like he will come any time soon"

"I'll go get him"

...

Soon a hashira with purple hair came back and behind her was a slightly taller male with long black hair with mint tips. Then it hit me "I-Is that... Muichiro?! No no that's impossible he died couple years ago!" I thought to myself and looked at the boy once more.

"Muichiro?" I said quietly but still loud enough to make him hear me. He looked at me with a blank look. "Those eyes... that look... it's him!"

"Tokito, you know him?"

One of the hashiras asked him. He looked at him and then quickly looked at me "it's me! Tanjiro Kamado!". His eyes widened a bit before he looked away from me "no. I don't know him" he said and went to sit next to other hashiras.

I looked at him one more time "it must be him! Why doesn't he remember me!?"

"You don't remember me? We have known each other since childhood! We hangout everyday! Until one day when your family was attacked by a demon! I thought you died t-"

"Stop!" He yelled out, still looking at his lap. He clenched his fits and took a deep breath without saying anything more.

Muichiros pov

"How does he know me? Do I know him? Did I just forget about him?" Those questions were circling my mind. I looked at him one more time. He stared at me with a shocked and disappointed look on his face.

He looked a bit familiar but I couldn't wrap my mind around him...

...

After the meeting ended I immediately stood up and walked away to be as far as possible from him. "Tanjiro... Tanjiro... that name is so familiar..."

I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned around to see him. "Come on Muichiro you really don't remember me?!" He almost yelled out. I pushed his hands away from me and looked him in the face. "No I don't! And don't touch me!" I said before walking away.

"Muichiro please! We know each other since childhood!"

"No we don't... just.. leave me alone!"

I ran away.

Tanjiro's pov

We then ran away... I sighed and thought to myself "well... at least he's alive.."

Suddenly a girl with pink hair appeared next to me. "You really know Muichiro?" She asked.

"Yes, I am sure of it"

"Well... he had amnesia after some traumatic experience he went through... maybe if you just talk to him, he'll remember you... just be slow with him, it takes a lot of time to make him remember at least someone's name"

She said before walking away. "Amnesia? So that's why he doesn't remember me... well I will do anything for him to remember me again!" I thought to myself confidently and walked the same way as Muichiro did.

I looked for him for some time before I spotted him sitting at the river having something on his lap.

"He's weird... he tells me that he's my childhood friend... but I don't remember a single thing about him" He said to someone.

I walked up to him and sat down next to him. He looked at me with a confused look before immediately looking annoyed. "What do you want?" He asked, clearly upset.

"Well I heard you have an amnesia" I started "yeah I do, got a problem with that or what?" He said with an even more annoyed tone

"No no of course not, I was just thinking that, when you have amnesia, it might be the reason why you don't remember me, I want you to remember me again!"

He sighed "can you just leave me alone, you're yelling too much". "No please Muichiro I want you to remember me! I thought I lost you once and I don't want to lose you again!"

"W-what are you talking about?!"

"I will explain everything! Everything I know and remember! But please let me try to make you remember me!"

"That's a waste of time, you don't have better things to do?"

"Please Muichiro I beg you!"

"...fine" he rolled his eyes. "Thank you!".

He looked down on his lap and stroked his crows back. "Oh so you were talking to a crow about me" I said.

"...H-how long did you listen?" "Not so long," I said as Muichiro backed away a bit from me.

"God you creep me out, first you come running to me telling me you know me, yelling in my face, embarrassing me in front of other hashiras and now listening to my conversations?!"

He yelled out clearly mad. "I am sorry, okay? I didn't mean to" I said in slight panic.

His face then turned completely blank again as he looked at his lap. "So let's introduce yourself to each other, I'll start, I am Kamado Tanjiro, I am 16 and I have a younger sister named Nezuko... now you"

"Muichiro tokito, I am 14" that's the only thing he said. "Alright, can you try to repeat what I said?"

He hesitated for a moment but nodded "Kanado... Ta..Tant..Tam.."

"Alright let's leave the name old for now, how old am I?"

"....16?"

"Correct and the last thing"

"... You talked about a family member... I don't remember the name.."

"Alright at least you remember this, we can practice like this everyday, you tell me something about yourself and I about myself, I can tell you stories from when we were kids maybe then you will remember"

"I doubt that... I will forget you by tomorrow"

"Well I am not gonna give up that easily!"

I said confidently while crossing my arms

"I will make you remember me even if it takes months!"

He looked away and then back on me slowly.

"You really know me from childhood?"

"Yes! I remember everything we went through! Until that one night..."

"What night?"

"Well..."

.............

"Tanjiro, where are you going?" My mother asked me "I am going to visit Muichiro, I promised him I'll visit today" I said putting my shoes on. "I see, say hi to his parents for me" "I will" I said and left.

Couple minutes later, I was getting closer to Muichiro's house but something felt off... I sensed something... the scene was getting stronger and stronger when I realized... blood.. It was blood.

I started to panic, I quickly sped up and ran towards the house. I ran inside to only see the unconscious bodies of their parents covered in blood.

I ran around the house looking for Muichiro or Yuichiro before noticing a blood trail. I followed the blood trail before noticing Yuichiro lying on the ground.

I quickly ran to him and shook him a couple times, nothing... he was dead. I searched and searched around the area, calling Muichiro's name but without success.

........

"After that I thought I lost you... but no, you are here!"

Muichiro looked at me with a confused look. "Brother? Parents? Demon?" He buried his face in his palms and groaned silently.

"This is too much... my head hurts" he said quietly. "H-Hey it's fine, I'll help you remember all of it" I said, grabbing his hands gently.

He looked up at me and nodded slightly. "I don't even remember your name already... how could you possibly make me remember my past.." he said still with a blank look but from his voice it was clear he was confused and worried.

"Don't worry, we'll manage" I said, smiling warmly. He nodded.
