Serena's POV

After everything that just happened, I stole a random car and drove as fast as I can not caring where I was going. I couldn't help but cry.

Telling Niklaus that I was in love with him wasn't easy all things considered and everything that happened just made me finally break down.

Suddenly I realized that I was passing Wickery Bridge, 'Something is wrong' I thought weirdly almost detecting some strange presence near me. I gasped when the car all of a sudden lifts off into the air and gets thrown at the side... And both me and the car go crashing down into the lake below.

As the car makes a huge splash into the lake I start to panic. I know I won't die from drowning obviously but it still is a pretty good way of a slow death which I did not want.  I needed to get out the car but as I was trying to open the car doors it was like they were jammed.

I managed to unbuckle my seatbelt, and I banged against the windshield to try and break it but it didn't so I swam to the back to do the same. My heart was racing so fast inside my chest and I was severely panicking now. I kept thrashing against the window until it finally shattered and as relieved as I was I swam out into the open deepness.

I immediately swam to the top,  and breathed air for what felt like the first in days. I ran my hands over my wet hair floated on top of the water for a few moments just to shake off the trauma I had just endured.

Suddenly stinging pain shoots through my hand, and I jerk up.

"Agh!" I yell out painfully. Suddenly, I realized that the unusual yellowy liquid that was in the water was coming towards me and the smell was all too familiar to me and I instantly knew what it was... "Vervain and wolfsbane" I whisper to myself. 'Some idiot must have injected it into the water supply' I thought rudely.

Seeing it get closer toward me, made swim away from it thrashing and splashing. I was never the best swimmer but if I didn't get away from this lake I would not only drown but burn to death as well, I got closer to shore but as if there was some invisible current, something dragged me down and I gasped trying to get out.
