Chapter 3 Vengeance for Love
Rapunzel watched her dear mother as she lay dying on her death bed. She didn't make any effort to stop the endless stream of tears that poured out of her eyes. There was no hope for her mother. The forbidden apple had saved Rapunzel while she was inside her mother's womb, but had left her mother to live a cursed life. She'd watched her mother hide the pain behind her bright blue eyes, and always succeeded in making Rapunzel's day.
And tonight, she couldn't bear it anymore. The eighteen year old had watched her mother battle the curse fiercely, but tonight was enough. She could not battle on anymore. Her mother gave into the curse. Rapunzel never understood why The Ice Queen would be so cruel. Rapunzel's heart fuelled with anger and rage as the thought of The Queen crossed her mind. The monster who took away her father from her. And the monster who was responsible for her mother's suffering.
She jerked back into reality as her mother's cold and feeble fimgers wrapped themselves around her wrist. She looked towards her mother and leaned forward. Her mother whispered something. Rapunzel leaned forward even more to make out the words her dying mother was trying to convey.
"Mother, please. Don't stress yourself." Rapunzel pleaded.
"Snow......white........" She said.
Her hand caressed Rapunzel's cheek, and fell back, lifeless on the bed. Her mother's blue eyes stared into nothingness. Rapunzel couldn't hold it in. Tears poured out of her eyes vigorously. She hugged her mother's body gently, and kissed her forehead. She then shut her mother's eyes closed. She needed to bury her mother and then soon, compose herself. She had to hurry. A knock came on her cottage door. Rapunzel got up, swept her long braid off the bed and quickly made her way to the door.
She slowly opened it, only to be faced by a tall, and handsome man. His dark, raven black hair fell in a mess on top of his forehead. His skin was as white as the winter snow. And his eyes were as grey as the storm clouds. Rapunzel smiled sadly at Prince Damon, her dear beloved. His eyes searched hers with worry. He pulled her close to her and placed his lips on her forehead, his fingers in her long, golden, silky and braided mane. She didn't push him away. He pulled her against his strong, muscled chest, letting her sob uncontrollably.
"Rapunzel, do not cry. We will take vengeance from The Queen. I promise you." He told her with firm assurance.
Rapunzel looked up into his eyes with hope and confusion.
"Damon, Snow White is your mother." She whispered to him.
He shook his head. He caressed her cheek with the back of his hand. He placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Have faith in me. We will make Snow White pay for what's she has done to you."
