... or don't understand you. 

Parents should be the people who always listen to their child's problems, give good advice, help & support their child and give it the feeling of Safety & Trust...

- But as we All Know - it's not always That Perfect... 

Many Modern Parents work too much & don't have time & energy to spend time with their children or don't listen to their needs & don't even Try to understand their problems ( if you often hear them say 'You think you have Problems? - That's nothing! - I have Real problems of Adult Life!'  or 'Solve your problems yourself' when you're asking them for help - You know what I'm talking about ).

If Parents focus only on Material needs & forget that their child also has the need of time spent with them. of feeling their love & their support - even if it's 'already a teen' or 'almost adult' as they say - the problem starts here...

If the child doesn't feel 'loved enough' by Parents - it looks for attention somewhere else ( rebelled friends they warned it about, other adult family members, Internet... ) or starts causing problems to tell them 'Hey! I'm here! - Notice me!'. 

And it all could be avoided by just spending more time together & parents assuring the children that 'they still love them' - but not just by saying - also by Showing that.

So dear parents - don't forget to tell your children things like 'I love you'. 'I care about you' & 'you can count on me cause I will always help you' & really show thay You mean it...

A hug from time to time also wouldn't hurt ( no matter of the child's age ) when you are at home together - because this small and simple gesture says more than words 

Maybe then your teen children would trust you again & come to you with every problem they have - instead of writing about their bad moods & problems online as most of them Do Nowadays... ( and many young depressions could be avoided as well... - because they wouldn't feel so 'hopeless' & helpless in the Modern world )
