Alex
Tiffany was board. When Future said they were going out, she hadn't been expecting to watch him flirt with some girl, while the rest of them sat uncomfortably in silence around the table.
As the song 'This Is How We Do It,' filled the nightclub, she wouldn't have minded going up and dancing, but she was stuck in the middle of the booth between Rabbit and Iz. Jimmy sat in his own world as far as she could tell because his eyes seemed to follow the same blonde girl around the club. The girl wad to Tiffany vaguely familiar, although she wasn't sure why.
''Why do they call you Future?'' She rolled her eyes as the girl lent closer to Future. Her shiny earrings catching the light, temporally blinding Tiffany.
''I had a lot of names,''Future lent closer to the girl so he could whisper in her ear all his nicknames, ''I was Maximum, Brimstone, Godfather D, Devastatin' D. Big D, that has a double meaning. But none of them worked... till I started hosting the battles at The Shelter. One day somebody said, You know what? You are the future of hip-hop in Detroit.' So you see, baby... sometimes you got to find your name,'' he then lent closer to her ear his lips almost touching it,'' and other times... your name finds you.''
''Want to smoke some ganja?'' She whispered and Future's lips turned upwards in a huge grin as he looked over at Jimmy. Jimmy nodded in congratulations before his mind went back to looking at the blonde girl, who Tiffany was sure she knew.
''Tiff,'' the voice startled her. She looked up from where she had been staring at the table to meet a pair of bright green eyes.
''What the fuck to you want man,'' Jimmy had torn his gaze away from the blonde to stare Jackson down.
''I ain't starting shit,'' he raised his hands up in defence, but he also took a step back just to be safe. He didn't practically want to be jumped by anyone who sat around Tiffany.
''Then what are you doing hear?'' Tiffany asked through gritted teeth. Future had stopped flirting with the girl, who even watched on wondering what was going to happen.
''You deserve a sober apology,'' he paused feeling the stare of seven pairs of eyes on him at once, ''I fucked up and...''
''I don't care Jack, just go,'' his mouth hung open as her words hit him.
''But...''
''Dude just leave,'' Future spoke up agitated that he couldn't go any further with the girl practically sat on him while Jackson was there.
''Ok, but you might want this,'' he through something down on the table, which Tiffany snatched up and shoved in her coat pocket before any of the boys could so much catch a glimpse. Then he turned and walked away.
''What did he just give you,'' Jimmy questioned.
''Nothing,'' she replied causing him to sigh and throw one of the nuts from the middle of the table into his mouth.
He opened his mouth to speak again, but the eager voice of Cheddar cut him off,''Rabbit, teach me to write rhymes. That's how to get the ladies, right?'' Jimmy laughed as he shovelled more nuts into his mouth.
''Or you could just talk to some girls Cheddar,'' Tiffany suggested.
''Yeah, but I wanna learn how,'' Cheddar whined.
''I'd listen to Tiff man, she is a girl,'' Jimmy added.
She was about to say something else, but the commotion of Future and his girl wanting to leave occurred. Wink had shoved them back down sitting himself down at the end of the booth next to Sol.
''Yo, I'm sorry, dawg. I didn't know Papa and LC were on their bullshit until tonight. I wouldn't be with them... except I'm promoting a show with them at Hip-Hop Shop,'' Wink defended himself concerning the altercation that had occurred in the carpark earlier on in the night.
''Those Free World bitches?'' Future scoffed, not excepting Winks excuse.
''Look, they're just one of the acts. If you want, I'll step out Rabbit. You're my friend. I don't want you mad,'' Wink offered, Future just shook his head, during his explanation.
''Man, do what you want to do,'' Jimmy replied shrugging his shoulders not caring.
Future seemed no longer interested in the conversation as he nudged the girl between him and Sol to stand up. She obliged with a smile on her face and got up with the freshly rolled joints clutched in her hand. Future took hold of her free one as they pushed past Wink and out of the booth.
''Respect yourself, sister,'' Iz called after the girl and Tiffany frowned a little confused by his words. Although the girl seemed to think he was flirting as she smirked towards him before pulling Future away.
''Damn. What the hell is his problem?'' Wink seemed offended as he watched Future walk away from them.
''Who, Future?'' Jimmy questioned not catching on.
''Yeah.''
''He thinks sometimes you talk shit,'' again Rabbit lent over eating from the bowl on the table again. Tiffany was sure he must have eaten all the nuts by now, seeing the amount he had eaten throughout the night.
''Also thinks you shouldn't be trusted,'' Tiffany added looking right at Wink.
''Who's he to say what's real? 'Cause he hosts the battles?''
No one gave him an answer as Iz spoke, ''Ain't that Jeanene?'' His comment making a silence fall over the table for a second before Cheddar pipped up.
''I thought she was pregnant.''
''Pregnant?'' Sol questioned while Tiffany frowned as she looked over at Jeanne, who sat on one of the high tables a glass of wine in front of her. Jimmy had been right she had lied, which led to Tiffany wanting to find out why. She, however, wasn't sure how'd she'd find out.
''I'm out, I'll be outside,'' Rabbit shuffled his way past Cheddar who also moved to get up, but Jimmy stopped him ''By myself.''
Tiffany watched him leave. He didn't bother giving a second glance back at the table, but instead just left. Then not long after she saw the blonde girl he'd been staring at all night pull her jacket on, looking as if she was about to leave.
''Wink, whose the blonde girl?''
''What?'' Wink asked baffled by her question.
''The one leaving what's her name?'' She asked him because Wink new most people through the many connections he had. If you wanted to know who someone was, he would be the first to ask.
''Alex I think,'' the colour immediately drained from her face as she realised why the girl looked so familiar.
''Can we leave and go somewhere else,'' there was silence, before she then croaked out, ''Please.''
''I'll find Future, meet you by Rabbit's car,'' Sol offered notching her distress.
''We can go my mom's she ain't home tonight,'' Wink offered and Tiffany just nodded her mouth having dried up making her unable to speak.
-----------------------------------------------
Five minutes later, followed by Future and his girl the group left the club in search of Jimmy. Her heart stopped when she noticed him standing toe to toe with the one woman she hated most.
''Rabbit? You and your friend want to bounce to an after-hours spot?'' Wink called out the moment the group reached him.
''Rabbit?'' Alex questioned under her breath before she then said,''Let me ask my friends,'' Tiffany glared at her as she moved away to go speak to her friends.
''Where are we going?'' Jimmy asked unaware of Tiffany's annoyance.
''My house,'' Wink replied.
''What about your mum?'' Rabbit rose an eyebrow unsure.
''Working nights,'' Wink replied a smirk evident on his face, seemingly rather proud of himself.
''Can some of us ride with you?'' Alex had come back from talking to her friends it seemed that they could all come.
''Wink can I ride with you?'' Rabbit's jaw dropped as he heard Tiffany speak.
''Wait what?'' Jimmy and Future said at the same time staring her down.
''There's isn't going to be enough room, Rabbit I'll go with Wink. Cheddar you wanna join,'' Cheddar hesitated for a moment, before he slowly nodded his head.
''We'll meet you guys there,'' Wink added throwing his arm around Tiffany's shoulder and leading her away, with Cheddar not far behind.
Jimmy, Future, Iz and Sol just watched stunned as she got inside the car with Wink. Not one of them realising that they were getting themselves into a car with someone that had led to Tiffany being heartbroken just the night before.
