Don't Call Me That

16

"Excuse me?"

"Yeah, I said it. I called you it. Yeah. GO. Does it look like anyone wants you here? Yeah, that's what I thought!" I tell her.

"You are so judgmental!"

"No, Avery, I'm not! Your cousin is. You are. You sit around like you aren't but in reality you are just lying. Stop lying. Every can see that you are!"

"You know what Tyler, I thought we were friends but now, your just somebody that I used to know. Don't talk to me, Don't look at me, because I don't want your faggot disease to rub onto me!" She spits out.

"Don't call me that!" I tell her.

"I can call you what ever I want!"

PRESENT DAY

I wake up, sweating and breathing heavily. It was Avery, the fight we had gotten into 30 years ago. I missed her dearly, but I certainly didn't miss this.

I hear a knock on the door, so I get dressed and make my way downstairs. It's my mom.

"What the hell do you want?" I yell.

"What I want is to move back in"

"Really?" I ask, surprised.

"Yeah. Since grandma died, I didn't have anyone back at the nursing home!"

I sigh, "Fine, mom!"

She smiles in happiness as she hugs me.

"You get my room!" I yell.

"Okay!"

Later that day, my mom takes me out to dinner. After we eat, we go see a movie, "The Excorsist Part Three: Luna's Awakening" It was stupid but at some points scary.

"How'd you like the movie?" I ask my mom as we walk out of the theatre.

"It was okay. It was good for a low-budget film!"

"Yeah, I guess you're right." I tell her.

I drop my mom off at the house and go to Oliver ad Craig's house. I knock on the door continuously before Craig answered.

"What the hell do you want? Oh, sorry, hey Tyler!" Craig says, laughing.

"Hey, can I come in?" I ask.

He nods as he opens the door for me. Their house is pretty small, but it is only the two of them.

"Hey Oliver!"

"HeyTyler! How's it going?" He asks.

"Not good," I tell him, "My mother's moving back in, and I'm afraid we're going to have a repeat of the last time we lived together!"

"Don't worry!"

"Don't tell me not to worry, because it's just going to make me worry even more!" I yell.

Craig walks over to us and puts his hand on my shoulder. "Hey dude, chill. If anything happens you can just come live with us! We have a spare room."

I look at him, obviously angry at this point, "You don't know what happened the last time I moved in with Oliver. My ex came and tried to kill me, and then I went to prison for 25 god damn years!"

"Tyler, I think it's best for you to go." Oliver tells me.

"Oliver, I'm sorry, I'll take Craig advice and think about it. Good night, you guys!" I tell them.

I slam the door behind me, and when I get in my car, all the tears start flowing out like a river.

******

"Where have you been?" My mother asks as I walk into the house. At this time it is about 10:56.

"Uh, Olivers!"

"No you weren't. You were at some guy named Craig's house!" she tells me.

"Craig is Oliver's husband!" I yell.

"No, he's not. I found this on the locator. The residence of the house our Craig Foster and Thomas Lung. Do you know a Thomas Lung?"

"No Mom! Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I ask.

"Do you think that Craig is cheating on Oliver?"

"It could be. Mom, when was the last time that file was updated?"

"Two hours ago!" she says.

"Oliver has been talking about Craig staying out late on certain nights!" I tell her.

My mom walks over to the couch and sits down, seemingly interested. "Look's like Craig isn't who he says he is."
