"Clary I don't want to go." Casey admitted to his younger sister as his eyes drifted to Alec who was speaking to his parents, the three of them smiling brightly.

"Casey, that's not even funny." Clary said bluntly as he waited for Magnus to meet them. "If we stay here any longer we will forget who we are."

"Maybe that's not a bad thing."

"Casey!"

"I mean it Clary. Imagine, no demons, no mortal cup. Only our mum, dad, friends and lovers - happiness Clary. I'm sorry for shouting at you earlier, but Jonathan means the world to me. But he's gone and if I stay here - it will stop hurting." Casey told his sister softly and Clary smiled sadly.

"Casey you can't base your life decisions on Jonathan. I know you miss him, and I know you love this world - but it's not our world."

"But I finally get to be with Alec." Casey said his voice breaking as tears stung his eyes. "I get to be his husband, maybe we can even have a family some day. I love him Clary, I love him with all my heart and I can't lose him again."

"Casey, this Alec - he was never yours to begin with. These people are different, they walk and talk and have the same names as the people we love, but they're not our people. And we're not theirs. When we leave, this world will still go on. This worlds Casey will still marry Alec and they will be together as husband and wife. You may not have gotten your happy ending in our world, but in this world Alec and Casey do."

"Clary -"

"Your Alec needs you Casey. And so does Jace and Isabelle and Simon and Raphael. Mum is still not awake and Valentine is still hunting you. Our world still goes on Casey, it will just go on without us. So you have to ask yourself, as much as you love this world can you leave the people from ours to fight and possibly die alone?" Clary spoke to her brother with a tender yet firm tone. She took his brothers hands in her own and smiled softly.

Breathing shakily, Casey shook his head. "You're right." He admitted hesitantly. "At least let me say goodbye."

Clary smiled softly at Casey and nodded. "Of course Casey, say your goodbyes and then meet Magnus and I in the basement." With a quick embrace Clary turned to leave until Casey called out after him.

"Clary." He shouted causing the redhead to turn round. "I'm sorry for being so horrible. It's just with Jonathan I..." he trailed off, unable to explain properly.

"Casey it's alright, I understand." Smiling once again Clary left just as Casey felt a pair of arms wrap themselves around his waist.

"Well hello there future Mr Casey Lightwood." Alec purred in his ear and Casey closed his eyes tight to stop any tears from spilling. At least this time he could say goodbye, but he wasn't sure if that made it more or less painful.

Turning round, Casey placed his hands on Alec cheeks. His hazel eyes stared into his, the smile falling from his pink lips as he saw his sad expression. "Casey love, what's wrong?" He asked frantically.

"Nothing." Casey assured shaking his head, his voice barely above a whisper. "Nothing at all. Clary just wants to speak with me. She says it's important."

"She probably just wants to call dibs on maid of honour before Izzy does." Alec laughed, his hazel eyes alight with excitement at the thought of Casey Morgenstern becoming his husband.

"Yeah, probably." Casey laughed. And then he kissed him. He kissed him with all the passion and love that he had. The kiss told the tragic tale of their love that burned bright and quickly, destroying everyone in its path. It told Alec of the laughter and tears he had caused him and how he wouldn't trade any of their love away, not even the pain it caused.

"I love you Alexander." He breathed. "And I will love you until my dying breath." And then without allowing him to reply he quickly turned on his heel and left the room wiping away the tears streaming down his face.

The sound of Casey's shoes echoed through the basement as he ran down the stairs, his vision slightly blurry due to unshed tears. His eyes were met with a rather panicked Magnus Bane who stood beside the fading portal.

"Casey what took you so long? Your sister and Jace are already gone." Magnus announced as he gently pulled the brunette towards the portal.

"Jace? But -"

"No time to explain. You need to go home now." Magnus ordered.

Casey looked at the portal, the portal that would take him to a chaotic world where his mother was comatose and his father psychotic. A world where the love of his life was marrying another and someone whom he regarded as his little brother was undead. A world where demons plauged the earth and people were power hungry.

But it was also the world were his little sister was. It was the world were Luke and Raphael were by his side, and the world where Isabelle was a walking form of sass and confidence.

Casey hugged Magnus, an action that shocked the warlock but nonetheless he hugged the young shadowhunter back.

"Goodbye Magnus." Casey smiled as the portal engulfed him.

He felt the familiar nauseous feeling as the portal transported him to where Magnus instructed him to think of; home. And when finally the feeling stopped Casey slowly opened his eyes, his jaw slackening at the sight before him.

"Oh shit." He swore.
