The warm morning sun hit Casey's face as he stood outside and shock rippled through him as someone pulled him into their arms. Initially he thought it was Clary, but Clary didn't wear cologne or have a large build and he most certainly was not a raven haired boy.
"Casey that was so stupid of you, that vampire could've killed you." He scoulded as he stepped back, seeming not embarrassed in any way by his abrupt hugging.
"Yeah and I could've killed him. Doesn't mean I would've." Casey sighed. "You worry too much." He smiled and placed his hand on Alec's cheek for a second.
"Shouldn't we get the hell out of here?" Simon said breathlessly.
"Why?" Jace snorted.
"They're right downstairs." Simon retorted, emphasising each word.
"Let them come after us. They'll just turn unto a bunch of fried eggs out here." Jace scoffed. "I thought you said you watched movies?"
Simon looked slightly bewildered and didn't form a response. Casey stood back and waited as Clary embraced Simon, telling him that he didn't have to die for her.
Casey shook his head and sighed slightly, astounded by the fact that his sister was so oblivious to Simon's true feelings for her.
How she didn't realise now that Simon's feelings stretched more than friends was beyond Casey, but he assumed it was purely because the feeling was unrequited.
Finally Clary and Simon stopped hugging and Casey ran forward, wrapping his arms around him before he could speak. A laugh escaped the brunette as he wrapped his arms around the raven haired boy, hugging him tightly.
Both Jace and Alec watched as the brown haired boy embraced the two, jealousy seeping through them. But neither would admit that they had feelings for either of the siblings.
Jace would never admit that the readhead was the first person he thought about and Alec would never admit that the raven haired boy was all that he ever thought about.
Casey hugged him again tightly. "How dare you get into that kind of trouble." He huffed. "Don't you dare do that again."
"Yes sir." Simon laughed.
Above, Alec turned to Jace, addressing a sensitive topic. He knew that Jace had feelings for the readhead, and whilst he might have had feelings for her older brother, Hodge's words played on loop in his mind.
"Look, can I just say one thing?"
"You will, whatever I say. So shoot." Jace sighed, folding his arms.
"You think you know Clary, but you may not. Think about who her father is."
"Do not start this again with me Alec." Jace hissed.
"She just came out of nowhere."
"Her and Casey have no one." Jace replied, agitation building.
"Just listen to me for one second." Alec pleaded, his voice getting louder.
"Alec stop." Jace roared and Casey's head snapped up so fast he nearly got whiplash.
He saw how tense both boys were and knew that they were having another argument.
"Just stop." He added, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I'm older than you Jace, I'm not in your shadow." Alec mumbled.
"If you really feel that way about her, then why did you help us tonight?" Jace questioned.
Alec's eyes drifted down to the ground below the steps where Casey was smiling, hugging Simon once again. Jace followed his gaze and scoffed.
"Casey." He spoke, amazed at the hypocrisy of his parabatai. Alec panicked, but soon realised that Jace automatically assumed friendship was present. "So does Casey know the things you've been saying? Because if you think that Clary is supicious then surely Casey's worse. He grew up with Valentine. He held him in his arms and raised him for years.
"You're treading on dangerous ground Alec. And if you want to be friends with Casey you'll stop these ridiculous allegations. Because Casey doesn't seem like the type of person to give third chances." Jace threw his parabatai another look before storming off, leaving Alec to stare at the raven haired boy.
He was beautiful and every drop of his angel blood shone through. His dark hair shimmered in the sunlight, his ivory skin peaking out under the sleeves of his leather jacket. Alec swallowed, guilt suffocating him.
As if feeling his eyes on him, Casey turned and caught Alec's eye. He smiled at him. Alec forced a weak smile in response. Casey's eyebrows furrowed in confusion and she left Simon and Clary to walk to him.
"Alec, are you okay? I heard Jace shouting. What was that all about?" He asked, his eyes glowing.
Alec couldn't tell him. He couldn't tell him the accusations that he had made about his sister for he knew that Jace was right. As much as he hated it, Jace had been right. Casey was not the type of person to give third chances.
And so he plastered a smile onto his face and shook his head. "I'm fine, and nothing important. You know how Jace can be."
Casey nodded in agreement before smiling.
"So, breakfast?" He asked.
