Casey, Isabelle and Alec rounded the corner just in time to see a vampire grab Clary. Casey growled and Alex grabbed an arrow, extending his bow. The vampire saw this and flipped Clary round, and wrapped his hand around her neck; a silent threat.

"Okay." Alec shrugged nonchalantly and fired the arrow at the wall. The impact resulted in the wall crumbling where it had been hit and a beacon if sunlight fluttered through, burning the vampire to ash as Clary ducked out of its reach.

Casey watched as Clary grabbed her seraph blade and pierced a vampires abdomen with it resulting in him combusting, Jace doing the same to another vampire moments later.

They all stopped to watch Clary who stood in shock, her blade still in the air.

"I killed him." She mumbled.

"He was already dead." Jace shrugged.

"Shut it smartass." Casey hissed, hitting Jace on the back of the head. Jace mumbled incoherently and rubbed his head as Casey walked towards his red headed sister.

"You okay?" He asked, placing his hands on his sisters arms as she retracted her blade. Clary nodded. "Then let's go find Simon."

The five rounded the corner, blades swinging, bow in hand and whip twirling. They would succeed. They would save Simon.

They entered the room and their eyes landed on Simon who was being held by the same vampire from earlier, a knife pressed to his throat.

This was someone whom Casey regarded as a brother, and he would not allow him to get hurt.

"Simon." Clary yelled and reached forward, only to be pulled back by Jace. Casey glared at his sister for being so impulsive and reckless and possibly having compromised Simon's chances of escape had she have succeeded in reaching him.

"It's not going to do any good." Jace whispered.

"Listen to him." The vampire drawled. "Clary Fairchild." His gaze fluttered to Casey and he grinned, causingher to tense. "Oh, little Mister Fiesty. Or should I call you Casey Fairchild? Whichever you prefer."

Casey clenched his jaw, but didn't answer. He wouldn't take the bait, wouldn't allow himself to be provoked. Not when someone he loved had a knife to his throat.

The vampire pouted, his fangs glistening. "Not so chatty now, are we? Put the blades away. I've had more than enough of your friend for one day. I'd love to cut his throat, don't give me a reason."

Nobody moved and this agitated the dark haired vampire.

"Put it away." He shouted and reluctantly all weapons were put away.

"Simon." Clary spoke. "Simon are you alright?" "I wouldn't say alright -" Simon began nervously, raising his hands.

"Stop talking." The vampire hissed. "Now." He smiled, turning his attention back to the group. "If you would all just follow me."

He walked backwards, pulling Simon along with him. Momentarily Casey wondered if it was awkward for the vampire as Simon was taller than him but he didn't dwell on it as he rushed forward, the group following.

They ascended steps, Alec stepping protectively in front of Casey, whose eyes were focused on the quivering boy with glasses.

"Come on let's go." The vampire shouted and Casey was beginning to become incredibly annoyed and had an urge to stab him. They reached the end of the steps, walking into the next room with their hands raised.

"Get down there now." Barked the vampire. "That's right get down there now. Or I'm going to kill him."

"Just give us Simon." Casey pleaded as they backed away slowly. "We just want Simon."

"I'm glad you do, because we don't. We wanted you, maybe your sister if that was our only option. But you."

"Well here I am you fanged bastard." Casey hissed and lunged at him, only for Alec to pull him back. Casey was getting seriously sick of this vampire. He seemed to have so few words in his vocabulary, the most being now and kill.

"Open that door or I'll kill him right now."

"Listen to him." Jace roared, his blonde hair falling into his face.

"But Simon will die." Clary cried and Isabelle kicked the door open.

Sunlight streamed through and the vampire took refugee behind one of the pipes, using Simon as a shield from the sunlight that could cause him death again.

"Clary go." Simon cried. "Casey, get out of here."

"Go go." Jace said, shoving Clary out the door as Alec tugged Casey out.

"Take him." The vampire gasped and shoved Simon forward.

"I don't know how I can thank you." Simon stammered.

"Don't thank me, you mean nothing. This is about Valentine and the chaos he can bring."

Jace pulled Simon out of the building but Casey wriggled out of Alec's grip and turned to the vampire hidden in the shadows.

"Go." The vampire hissed.

"Your name." Casey whispered.

"What?" "What's your name."

The vampire stared at him, as if debating why he could possibly want his name. He wondered if it was so he could seek him out in the future to kill him, but the look on his face said otherwise.

"Raphael." He answered.

"Thank you Raphael." Casey smiled and stepped outside, slamming the door behind him.

Darkness enveloped Raphael once more as he gazed at the steps upon which Casey Fray had stood moments before.

He hoped that he would save them all.

But he knew very well that he could destory them all.
