Casey opened his bleary eyes, to find someone staring at him. He had jet black hair and hazel eyes. He was utterly gorgeous, and unlike his blonde friend he didn't seem to know it. He gazed at Casey with some unknown emotion in his eyes, his arms crossed.
"It's rude to stare." Casey pointed out as he stood up and ran a hand through his hair. Casey turned to face the boy, only to find his cheeks so red, you could've lit a fire from them. He pointed and Casey looked down to find himself in nothing but his tighty whities. Casey shrugged as he looked around for his glasses, making no effort to be fully clothed in front of this Greek God of a male. "I'm Casey." He announced, still looking for his glasses.
"Alec." The boy replied and Casey smiled, Alec now being his favourite name. "You won't need your glasses anymore." The hazel eyed boy added, almost as if he could read Casey's mind. Turning to face the boy, Casey arched an eyebrow, signalling for him to explain further. "The drawing of the first rune on your body triggered your Shadowhunter blood, you know have perfect vision."
"Well shit." Casey pouted, flopping back down to the bed, still practically naked.
"You say that as if you're not happy." Alec remarked, the corners of his lips pulling upwards into what seemed to be a smile. "They were expensive." Casey whined and Alec laughed, moving towards the door. He stopped and turned, pointing to the clothes that sat upon the chair.
"You might want to get dressed. I'm sure not all of the Institute wish to see your tightie whities." Alec snorted, throwing that million dollar smile again.
"Ah but you're not complaining." Casey winked. When the words fell from his mouth, Alec's grin fell and his facial expression became colder, confusing Casey. "Get dressed." He said sharply and stormed out of the room.
"Alrighty then." Casey huffed and threw up his arms as he stared at the empty doorway. "Wonder who pissed in his cornflakes." He grumbled, grabbing the black clothing and tugging it over his body. "Do Shadowhunters eat cornflakes?" He pondered further as he left the room, his eyes meeting the most boring looking corridors known to man. The raven haired boy followed the sound of voices - which for the record were very loud indeed -until he found the source.
"She's not a mundane." Was the first words that Casey heard as he entered the room. There stood Jace, the raven haired boy and whom he could only assume was his sister. They seemed to be arguing over his sister and Casey faintly recalled mundane being a shadowhunter term for human.
Casey quickly bounded towards his sister and wrapped his arms around her, sighing in relief with the knowledge that his sister was okay. Clary's laughter was muffled against her brother's shoulder. Sitting beside his sister, Casey made eye contact with the golden eyed boy.
"Morning gorgeous." Jace teased, but Alec didn't understand the inside joke and tensed slightly.
"Oh God, I thought I imagined saying that." Casey groaned, running a hand through his hair.
"Nope." Jace grinned and Casey pouted. "Who's clothes am I wearing?" He inquired, looking down at the black tshirt that was slightly too tight.
"They're mine." Alec spoke, his voice rough. He refused to make eye contact with brown eyed boy, but Alec felt his intense stare. "Thank you." Casey spoke sincerely. "I want them back." Alec grumbled in response.
"What Alec means to say is that you're very welcome." His sister corrected, holding her hand out to Casey. "I'm Isabelle by the way. Alec and Jace's sister."
Isabelle and Casey shook hands before Casey turned his attention back to his sister. "Are you sure you're okay?" "Am I okay?" Clary echoed. "Casey you nearly died."
"No I didn't." Casey snorted. "Yes you did." Jace confirmed.
Casey turned to the blonde and narrowed his eyes. "You are not helping."
Isabelle smiled mischievously as she watched her brother glare at Jace. She stood up. "Jealous of Jace are we?" She tutted. "Surely, you couldn't have a crush on a mundane?" Isabelle teased, but unfortunately Alec didn't take the bait. But his cheeks did go awfully red.
"We have to report this to the Clave." He announced, getting a I'm- super - pissed glare from Jace in return.
"You know what Alec, dial it down a notch." Jace sighed.
"My brother doesn't have a dial." Isabelle snorted. "I love you Alec, but you have a switch that's always on."
"I love you too." Alec replied. "But this just -" He continued, waving his hand in the air only to be interrupted by Jace. Casey stood and let Jace take his place, siting at the edge of the bed and opted for the chair beside Isabelle.
"You'll probably find this awkward, and I know I only just met you, but your brother is gorgeous." He whispered, causing Isabelle to laugh.
"You're probably the first person that hasn't fawned over Jace. Most of them completely ignore Alec." Isabelle replied, having no problem with Casey not being straight. This made Casey feel content and he knew he and Isabelle would be friends.
"Jace is really good looking, but he's . . . what's the word I'm looking for?"
"Arrogant?" Isabelle offered.
"There it is." She laughed.
"I think you and I are going to get along just fine." Isabelle smiled, nudging Casey who returned the grin.
"You - you're beautiful too." Casey stammered blushing slightly.
Isabelle smiled softly at Casey causing his heart to beat slightly faster. "Thank you. So are you Casey."
"What is with him?" Alec exclaimed. "No seriously, what is with him?"
"Looks like Jace poked the bear." Casey whispered, beginning to feel more comfortable with the beautiful woman. "You should go sort that out."
Isabelle sighed and stood up, taking Alec by the arm. "Walk with me big brother." She said and led him out of the room.
Casey stood up and stretched. "I've been through this explanation twice now, so Jace I'm going to leave you to tell Clary everything, because I am going for a walk. Isabelle can't be far."
"Isabelle or Alec? Or both?" Jace retorted, throwing Casey a wink, clearly knowing that he was attracted to both siblings. Casey huffed and threw a pillow at him. He turned to his sister and bent down, kissing her forehead. "Listen to Jace, you can trust him."
"But mum said -"
"I know what mum said. But these people, are our people Clary. We're shadowhunters, and they can help us. So listen to him."
"Okay." He agreed.
"I can stay if you want me to." Casey told his sister, upon seeing the nervous look in her eye.
Clary shook her head. "No it's okay. I'll be fine." "I love you Clary. We'll find mum."
"I love you too Casey."
Casey walked out of the room, this time the room before him being much more interesting and all the technology surrounding him amazing him. He caught sight of the brother and sister duo rounding the corner and ran to them.
"Isabelle." He called, causing the girl to turn and face him.
"Casey." She smiled. "Izzy is just fine."
Casey nodded, a small smile on his face as he turned to face Alec. "Em, we've had a really awkward first meeting. So let's try again. I'm Casey Fray." He smiled and held his hand out to Alec.
Alec stared at him, deliberating what to do. Isabelle rolled her eyes and nudged her brother in the ribs and so Alec reached forward and placed his hand in Casey's.
"Alec Lightwood." He replied.
