Lollie Parker

When Lollie was younger, back when she was only known as Winter. She had this toy her dad gave her when she was two.

Two years old, Lollie sat on the steps waiting for her dad to get home.

Once he was in sight, she ran off the steps and into his arms.

"Hey, pumpkin. Guess what I got."

Lollie smiled at him and shrugged her shoulders.

"It's Mr. Bear! He's gonna be you're new best friend."

So, it was.

Until now.

She was wearing her black skirt and a white t-shirt as she sat in her closet.

Lollie threw her clothes out of her closet and if you looked around it was a complete mess.

Her door was pushed opened and Maya, Riley, and Noah came inside.

"Wow." Noah said, looking at the mess of Lollie's room.

"Come on! We're gonna be late!" Maya said.

Lollie wasn't paying any attention, she kept throwing her clothes around the room and one hit Maya's face.

Lollie huffed and stood up.

"Oh, hey. When'd you get here?"

"We just walked in." Riley said.

"We don't have the time! Tacos remember!"

"Oh, yeah." Lollie said, "Go without me."

"What?" Riley questioned.

"Okay, Noah let's go." Maya said and grabbed his hand.

She tried pulling him out from the doorframe but he didn't move.

"Why?" He asked.

"Um. No reason, it's stupid actually."

Lollie dropped the stuff onto her bed and sighed, "You know what? It can wait. Let's go."

"Yes!" Maya cheered.

Noah let go of Maya's hand and walked towards Lollie.

"What are you looking for?"

Lollie shook her head, "Nothing. Let's get going."

"I agree."

Noah looked over Lollie's head and into her closet.

"Oh. You're looking for Mr. Bear."

"No, no I am not." She said, "But if I was. Have you've seen him?"

"Who's Mr. Bear?" Riley asked

Noah faced the girls, "This bear Zander gave her when she was two. It's been in her closet ever since we moved."

"It's literally the only toy he's ever bought me. I need to find it."

"Do we have to look now?" Maya asked.

"No." Lollie answered, "It can wait. Let's go."

Noah grabbed Lollie by the arm and pulled him back, "We are looking for your bear, Lollie."

"Do we have-"

"Yes, we have to." Noah said.

Maya sighed and stomped her, "Bobblehead."
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie rushed downstairs with Maya, Noah, and Riley beside her.

Lollie looked over and saw Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, Auggie, along with her parents, her sister, and Fran, all stood downstairs.

"What's going on?" Lollie asked.

"Is this an actual emergency?" Mr. Matthews asked.

Lollie furrowed her eyebrows, "What are you talking about?"

"You're mom said that you were making a ton of noise upstairs and wanted to see if you had... company." Topanga said.

Lollie clanked her heeled boots together and smiled.

"Oh, my..." Fran said.

"She's been upstairs looking for her bear." Noah said.

The five adults, including Mariah all, sighed in relief.

"It's the bear my dad gave me when I was two. I need it."

"That's the emergency?" Mr. Matthews asked.

The girls shouted, "Yes!"

"Did you get my tacos?" Mr. Matthews asked.

Maya huffed, "No."

"Why not?"

"Mr. Bear is missing."

"Who?"

"Mr. Bear?" Bailey questioned.

"Bailey, sweetie." Fran started, "It's the bear her father gave her when she was younger."

"Lollie, why can't you just look for Mr. Bear when you get back?" Topanga asked.

Lollie smiled, "You're right. It can wait. Let's go."

"Ah, no, no, no. We're looking for this bear now." Noah said, "I remember when my own father took my dog and he thought I would never find it and I did. Finding that dog was the best day of my life. So we are gonna find that bear." He faced Lollie, "Okay?"

"Okay."

The knock on the door caused everyone to face it.

Lollie walked towards the door and opened it to reveal Lucas, Farkle, and Zay.

"What are you guys doing here?" Riley asked.

"We were told there would be tacos." Lucas said.

Farkle smiled, "Three tacos please."

"Uh, may I have pancakes?" Zay asked.

Lollie faced Maya, "You called them here?"

"I wanted them to know what it's like to want a taco and not get a taco." Maya said.

"What could be worse than that, you-" Mr. Matthews was cut off when they heard the festive Mexican horns play.

"The bobbleheads are gone!" The taco said.

Maya and Mr. Matthews threw themselves onto the couch.

"So... we're all here to look for your childhood teddy bear?" Lucas asked.

"Oh boy." Topanga said.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie's parents finally split up and Bailey got with Finn.

Lollie sat in her room when Noah busted into her room.

"My daddy got me this dog. Now we can play animals together."

Lollie continued to look at him. They had only been living together for a few months and having more kids around Lollie's age was weird.

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why do you want to play with me?"

Noah looked down at his dog and held it by the ears.

"We both have animals, now. Why not play animal doctors or something."

Lollie stood up and shut her door.

"Animal doctors are called veterinarians and if we play. My bear goes first."

Noah smiled and nodded, "Okay."
﹏﹏﹏﹏

"I was remembering too hard." Lollie said.

"Noah, it was very nice to play with Lollie, but Auggie it wasn't nice to eat the face off of Riley's bear. And in fact, you would think in doing that, that would teach Riley not to eat someone's cookie." Zay said.

Riley faced him, "Get off that."

"I do not wish to." Zay said.

"That was the first time I had the guts to even approached Lollie by myself."

"You know what?" Mr. Matthews said, "If this means this much to Lollie, let's respect her feelings. Let's find that stupid bear."

"You know, I would, but I got that big game with, uh, sports." Farkle stuttered.

Lollie quirked her eyebrow.

"Yeah. Yeah, yeah, and I would too, but I got the, you know, the big science fair with, I don't know." Lucas said.

"Why did you two switch characters?" Noah asked.

"We panicked!" Farkle shouted, "We're gonna be trapped in here looking for a stuffed animal! We'll do anything to get out of it."

"You guys can go if you want to. I'm not forcing you to stay." Lollie said, "You all can go. I'm gonna head upstairs and keep looking."

It kinda hurt Lollie that Farkle and Lucas didn't want to help her find something that meant so much to her.

Noah sighed and looked back, "Who's up for a taco?"

Maya ran over and jumped onto his back.

"If you want tacos... we've gotta find the bear." He said.

Maya sighed and hopped off his back.

"Well, I'll stick around here as long as it takes because I am a supportive friend." Zay said.

Lollie put her arm around Zay, "You deserve someone special."

"As do you." He said, "Someone who's not going to go to the science fair or someone who's got a big game."

Lollie looked at Lucas and back at Zay, "You're right."

"Hey, Lollie, what about just this once, we can be the unsupportive friend?" Maya asked and held onto Riley.

Lollie approached them, "How many times do I have to say it? Go."

Maya jumped out of Lollie's arm and headed towards the door.

"I have a story." Noah said.

"Hey, a story." Maya smiled.

"Once upon a time, there was a little, tiny Lollie, a big sister Mariah, and an adorable little me."
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Mariah was only twelve at the time when she was left alone with the two, four year olds.

Mariah held Lollie in her arms as she slept, she was clutching onto the bear.

Noah sat beside Mariah his head resting onto her arm; the dog tucked in between his legs.

Bailey and Finn walked into the home and saw the three.

"I'm a good babysitter. Now that'll be ten fifty. I want it sitting on my dresser."

Bailey and Finn smiled and sat down on the couch.

"You did a good job, sweetheart." Finn said and kissed the top of her head, "We can take them to their rooms now."

Bailey went to grab Lollie, but Mariah moved her arm.

"It's okay. We're watching a movie."

"Huh?"

"It's the little engine that could, you know if he tried."

Finn whispered in Bailey's ear, "Let's leave them. She'll be begging to get them away from her."

The two adults headed upstairs.

Hours later they both peaked around the corner and saw Mariah asleep with Lollie still in her lap and Noah by her side.

"Huh?"

"She loves them. Gotta get used to it."
﹏﹏﹏﹏

"I think that's when we all got pretty close in time. That just made us closer than what we were before." Lollie said.

"Whoa! Great story! That was so good. Guys, let's go." Maya said.

She looked around and everyone had their heads in their hands as Auggie and Zay were hugging each other.

"Oh no." Maya said.

"We have to find that bear, you guys." Zay said.

"Oh no." Maya repeated.

Maya's phone went off again for Paco's Tacos.

"Everybody has gone taco loco! I don't think there's anybody in New York City that doesn't have one of Paco's Tacos!" The taco spoke.

"You're wrong, Paco!" She said.

"We have to find that bear, you guys." Zay said.

The group stood up and began to look.

"How is it possible that I can end up in a situation like this?" Maya said.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie and Lucas looked around in her room, but nothing seemed to show.

She ran her hands over her face and sighed.

"Lucas?" She asked, "Do you have anything from when you were a kid that you still hold on to?"

"One thing. It's kind of dumb though." He said.

"What is it?"

"When I was like four years old, my Pappy Joe gave me something called a sack of gold. It was a little canvas bag and it had drawstrings to open it."

"So? You're rich?"

He sat down beside Lollie and laughed.

"I thought so." He smiled, "I kept it for years. Then one day, I saw that Zay had his own little sack of gold too. And I said, "Hey, Zay, you got a sack of gold?" And he said, "Yeah." And he opened it up, poured the whole thing in his mouth, chewed it, and blew a bubble."

"His was bubblegum?"

"Yes. His was."

"And yours was real?" She asked.

"Yes. I believed it was. And I still believe it is. 'Cause I am never gonna open it up to find out any different."

"It's funny about these things we hold on to. And how life lets us know when it's time to let it go."

"Yeah. Sometimes it's just a little bag of bubblegum. But if the right person gives it to you, then it's gold." He said grabbed ahold of Lollie's hand.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie and Lucas walked downstairs and heard Topanga's voice.

"We're looking for Lollie's lost teddy."

"A bear?"

Mariah walked up to Josh, "It's one her dad gave her."

"Well," Josh said, "Can't Finn get her another one?"

"Finn didn't give her the bear, bub."

Lollie sighed and came away from the staircase, "But I think my time is up; looking for the bear is hopeless. It's gone now and it's time for tacos."

"Really?" Maya asked.

"No. No, no giving up." Josh said.

"Yes, give up. Yes." Maya said.

"No, it's important we find it." Josh said.

Lollie sighed, "Why?"

Auggie came running downstairs and hugged Josh.

"Uncle Josh!"

"Mr. Auggie."

"How's college?"

"Oh, dude, you kidding? Dude, you kidding? Dude, the people, the parties, you kidding, dude?"

"You want to stay at ours tonight?" Topanga asked.

"Just a night? How about forever?" He asked.

"Has it been a rough adjustment?" Mariah asked.

Maya looked at him, "It was a rough adjustment for us in high school."

"What about college?" Zay asked.

"You think you're ready. You think you're ready." He said.

"What's the matter, honey?" Mariah asked.

"I wasn't ready!" Josh shouted, "It's hard. I wasn't ready. My roommate and I, we don't get along at all, And I don't think it's my fault. I think it's his fault. He says "schnoop-aloop" at the end of everything. Who does that?"

He turned and faced the group, "Now ask me a question."

"What time is it?" Zay asked.

"Eleven-fifteen. Schnoop-aloop. Ask me who I am."

"Who are you?" Farkle asked.

"I'm Schnoop-aloop's roommate. You know what people say when they see me? They say, "Hey, that's Schnoop-aloop's roommate." My name is Josh. How did this happen to me? I'll tell you how it happened. I grew up. You know what I know? High school is your last stop before you grow up. So, you don't give up on that teddy bear. You hang on tight. You find that bear. You understand what's important, Lollie?" Josh said.

"Yeah, I do." She said, "Lucas?"

"After you."
﹏﹏﹏﹏

The couple stood in the line at the taco place.

"I didn't know tacos could even be this good."

Lucas looked down at her, "You've never eaten here?"

"No. Is it as hype as Maya makes it?"

"Yes."

Lollie smiled, "Then when should have them together, just us."

"When?"

"Whenever."

The two of them made it to the front of the line.

"Welcome! What can I get for you two?"

"How much is three full bags of tacos? Plus a bobblehead." Lollie asked.

"We are not giving out any more bobbleheads, ma'am."

"I really need that bobblehead. I'll pay for it. I'll do anything, I need it." Lollie begged, "Please."

"No can do."

Lollie licked her lips and sighed, "My friend really wanted to come here and get that bobblehead. She helped me look for my stupid bear my dad gave me and she missed this event because- she my friend. I don't even know why I bother looking for it, knowing that I never touch it but know that it's not there, it filled a giant piece of my heart."

"Sympathy does not work. You're total is fifty-two dollars and eighty-nine cents. Bobblehead excluded."

Lollie pulled out her wallet and handed the man a hundred, "Keep the change." She whispered.

She turned and faced Lucas.

"Pancake place is down the road. So you'll wait for the tacos and I'll get the pancakes."

Before Lucas could speak Lollie already was out the door.

She came out the door of the pancake place.

She headed back down to Paco's Tacos, seeing Lucas standing outside.

"Ready?" She asked.

"Yeah, but I have something for you." Lucas said.

He dug through one of the bags and pulled out a bobblehead.

Lollie smiled and held it in her hands.

"No way. How'd you get it?"

"It was your story, Lollie. He said he understood what that bear meant and that his mom helped him look for a toy like yours when he was younger."

"Did he ever find it?"

Lucas shook his head, "No, but he knew it was time to let it go."
﹏﹏﹏﹏

The two of them crawled back into Lollie's room and headed downstairs.

"Lollie!" Finn called.

"Yes?"

"Where have you guys been? We haven't seen you in half an hour." Zay asked.

"An hour." Maya said.

"A half an hour." Zay said.

"I don't get it!" She shouted.

"Lollie found what we needed to find." Lucas said.

"Yeah. Lucas and I found out that we were looking in the wrong place, so then we looked in the right place."

"You found the bear?" Farkle asked.

"No." She said, "You find the bear?"

"No. Sorry." He said.

"It's okay. I know you tried."

"Remember when Auggie wanted to give up Mr. Googly and grow up?" Riley asked.

"But then I didn't. I wasn't ready." Auggie said.

"Yeah. Good for you. But at some point, I think we are ready." She said.

"How do we know when that is, Riley?" Auggie asked.

"I think something inside us tells us. I think it actually comes to tell us. Lollie, I don't want to let you down, but I think your bear is gone." Maya said.

"Yeah. I don't want to let you down either."

Lucas revealed the three bags of tacos.

"Tacos!" Maya and Mr. Matthews shouted.

"Lollie!"

"I know getting the tacos was important, Maya. I tried hard to get them."

"You didn't have to cry. It's not that important." She said.

"Yeah, I did, or else he wouldn't have given me one."

"What?" Maya asked.

Lollie pulled the bobblehead out of the bag and handed it to Maya.

"Bobblehead! Oh! Bobby, I will hold you tight and never let you go." She said.

"Yes, you will, and that'll be okay."

"Thanks, Lollie." Maya said.

Maya looked at Lollie and pulled her into a hug.

"This is what's important."

"So, Lollie, we're not gonna keep looking for the bear?" Auggie asked.

Lollie let go of Maya looked at Auggie.

"I would like to, but it's time for him to go."

"He knew that you didn't need him anymore." Lucas said.

"So, he waited till you were asleep and kissed your eyelashes goodbye." Riley said.

"Grabbed his tiny travel hat and his little suitcase and he thanked you for your years together." Zay said.

"And he told me to tell you he forgave you for eating one of his cookies. Then he hopped out the bay window and got on the G train to Beartown." Farkle said.

"I think that's exactly what happened." Maya said.

"I don't. I think someone needs him more than what I did. Thank you anyway."

Lucas smiled, "That's what we're here for."

"Hey, Auggie?" Riley said.

"Yeah?"

"It's a great story that you chewed his face off because you wanted to hang out with Maya and I. Never lose that, okay?"

"Okay. Can we hang out?" He asked.

"No. Get out of here." Maya said.

"You know what? I think it's time I got out of here." Josh said.

"What happened to forever? I'll get your laundry." Topanga said.

Mr. Matthews faced his brother, "Josh, you can stay with us as long as you'd like."

"Yeah, you can." Mariah said.

Lollie hit her sister's shoulder; Mariah didn't look at Lollie when she hit her back.

"I know. Thank you, but looking at you guys, I just get this feeling that there are some good friends to be made back at my dorm." He said.

"With Schnoop-aloop?" Auggie asked.

"Maybe, Josh just needs to get to know him better." Riley said.

"Maybe," He said, "I just need to let them get to know me a little bit better."

"Yeah. You know, you're not a bad guy at all." Zay said.

"Oh, yeah? Thank you, Zay."

"You're welcome."

"Hey, Maya and Noah, Lucas and Lollie, are gonna be going out on dates and holding hands and all scared to death and Lucas isn't gonna think anything at all about ditching one of his best friends."

Lucas looked at Zay, "I'm not ditching."

"You abandoned me for her." Zay said.

"Okay."

"You want to go to the movies?" Noah asked Maya.

"Yes."

Auggie looked at Farkle, "You want to go to the movies?"

"What?"
﹏﹏﹏﹏

It was dark upstairs and all the lights were off, except the bedroom light on the far left.

The bear sat in the corner of the room.

"You coming to bed soon?"

Zander looked up and nodded, "I'll be there in a second."

Katherine nodded and headed back into the room.

He stood up and held the bear.

When the bear arrived at his house it came with a note attached to it.

It simply said, "Not needed, I enjoyed it, but it's time for it to go. Lollie."

He held the bear in his hands and sighed.

"Goodnight, Mr. Bear."
