Lollie Parker

Everyone has their safe place, whether it's a person, place, things, they are the most comfortable around them/that.

Noah had his safe place and Lollie had hers.

Lollie wasn't going to willingly tell anyone where her safe places were. It was her safe place for a reason.

So when Noah came busting into Lollie's saying, "Riley's getting rid of her bay window." was confusing.

"How? How is she gonna get rid of a bay window?" Lollie asked.

Noah shrugged his shoulders, "Maya's with her. Just come on."

Lollie sighed and stood up. She pushed her glass to the bridge of her nose.

"Let's go."

She opened the window and headed out with Noah trailing behind her.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Upon their arrival, Lucas and Farkle walked through the door.

"You're changing the bay window?" Lucas asked.

"Oh, look what you did. You made Hee-haw show up out of nowhere." Maya said.

"Lucas, Noah, Lollie, how does this affect you? You didn't grow up with us." Riley asked.

"Of course we didn't grow up with you. That would be weird don't you think?" Lollie asked.

"We didn't have to." Lucas said.

"We know this place has a lot of meaning to you. That makes it a special place for me because both of you are special to me in... whatever way you'll eventually tell me." Noah said.

"High school's coming up." Riley said, "We're changing. Look around, guys. This is a little girl's window. It needs to change with us."

"Hey, Huckleberry, Noah, Lollie. It might've been okay to have known you as long as we've known Farkle."

"Yeah, being friends with you guys has changed me in the best possible ways. I wish I could've always had that." Lucas said.

"We could do it. I say we've known you since you were a little kid." Riley said.

"Well, how do you do that?" Noah asked.

"A musical number." Riley said.

"No!" They shouted.

"In the town of old Austin, Texas." Riley sang.

"And someplace in New Mexico."

"Why?"

"Lived Bucky McBoing Boing, Huh-hurr." Maya sang.

"Will you please be kind?" Lucas asked.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Noah pushed Lollie with his little hands.

Lollie looked at him getting ready to shove him back but stopped and looked at him.

"Why are we little?" Noah asked.

When the two were maybe eight, Noah developed a small lisp. Lollie, on the other hand, had her two front teeth missing.

She only shrugged her shoulders and looked at Maya and Riley.

Maya jumped down and held Lollie's cheeks, "You're tiny." She faced Noah and smiled, "You're tiny."

Lollie sighed and removed Maya's hands.

"Huh-hurr, huh-hurr, you talk like that for sure." Maya sang.

"I am dreaming of a hero-" Riley started.

"Riley, have some dignity, woman!"

"Who will treat me like a princess." Riley continued.

"Like me!" Farkle said.

"Not you."

"Okay." He said and walked out.

Lollie smiled and dashed out the room, "Baby Farkle wore glasses?"

"I'm not a baby."

Lollie looked at him, he looked like the kid from Stuart Little. Lollie only smiled at him.

"Hold on."

He walked back inside, "No, the other."

"Farkle!" Maya sang.

"Okay."

Farkle came back out and sighed, facing Lollie and smiled.

"Baby Farkle, we would've been the best of best friends."

"Aren't we that now?"

Lollie smiled and nodded.

Farkle peaked back inside and grabbed Lollie's hand.

"Come on."

He dragged her into the room and began to sing, "A freak-face became our best friend."

"Hey!"

As Noah danced with Maya and Riley, struggling in the process. Lollie walked up to Lucas.

"You are very big from this point of view." Lollie said.

Lucas smiled down at her, "How come I've never seen baby pictures of you?"

"The same reason I haven't seen baby pictures of you."

"I have baby pictures."

"I would like to see it."
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie rubbed her hands over her face and sighed. Her blue hair falling in front of her was a sign they were back to themselves.

"No. Maya, nothings forever. We can't be seven years old our whole lives." Riley said.

"Why can't we?" Maya asked.

"I like remembering who you were." Farkle said.

"I was nothing like that. I was a little boy just like all of my friends." Lucas said, "Look. Gets a frame with a picture I have a picture."

As he swiped through photos, Lollie looked over at him.

"Huh."

It was a picture of him and a group of kids. Lucas still looking the same in the photo.

"It's time to forget about the past." Riley said.

"Why do we have to?" Maya asked.

"Huh." Lucas repeated.

Yet another photo of him and some kids but Lucas still looked the same.

"Maya, what's important now is, "who are we going to be?"" Riley asked.

"What happens to who we were?" Maya asked.

"Hey, guys, something's seriously wrong." Lucas said.

"You are never touching this bay window." Maya said.

Riley slowly grabbed the curtain and looked at Maya.

"Lollie tell her to stop." Maya said.

"What am I supposed to do?"

"Something. Anything."

"We don't really have the same memories as you guys do with the bay window. I don't think there's much I could say or relate towards."

"Actually. We do." Noah said.

"And what would that be?"
﹏﹏﹏﹏

It was a chair.

An old rocking chair.

It was old and was in the Parker household for years until Fran made them get rid of it.

Lollie and Noah loved that chair.

The chair had no sentimental value to the Parker family. It was an old rocking chair from the thrift store.

Noah and Lollie would read in the chair, color in the chair, slept in the chair.

So when Fran told them to get rid of the chair the two of them were devastated, to say the least.

Lollie and Noah would beg and plead for the chair to stay, but they didn't budge.

So, they protested. It didn't last long.

It lasted for about four hours. They didn't last long because their tiny bodies told them to go to sleep. They cried for hours. They didn't speak to anyone unless it was with each other. That lasted for a week.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

"Lollie was so upset, you should've seen her."

"I was upset? You said you wouldn't even eat until they bought the chair back."

"Anyway... we can relate. In some type of way. We wanted to keep the chair because it was something we cared about our safe place if you will and when someone got rid of it we were upset, but we also got used to it not being in our lives anymore. We found other things or people to call our "safe place." Noah said.

Maya only smiled at him.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

"How could you let them do this?" Maya asked Mr. Matthews and Topanga.

"I didn't." Mr. Matthews said, "What did you guys do?"

"Riley, this is your favorite place in the world." Topanga said.

"I'm just a teenage girl rearranging her room a lot."

"Uh-huh. What's really happening?" Topanga asked.

"Just because we're going to high school, she thinks we should destroy our childhood." Maya said.

"Okay, you know, this raises an interesting question. Who here knows-" Mr. Matthews started.

"Stop."

"Stop what?" He asked.

"You were about to teach us something, weren't you?" Riley asked.

"No."

"Sure, you were." Noah said.

"It's the weekend and you can't stop. Bring it, Hambone." Farkle said.

"You need help, Mr. Matthews." Maya said.

"You're not allowed to teach us anything today." Lucas said.

"I wasn't gonna teach you anything." He said.

"Yay!"

"Because you already know this one."

"Oh." Riley said.

Farkle smiled, "Yay!"

"The truth is, people, get comfortable with what's familiar." Mr. Matthews said.

"Yeah, and when you get too comfortable, you don't allow yourself room to grow." Topanga said.

"The worst thing you can do is fold your arms and refuse to accept what's gonna come anyway." Mr. Matthews said.

"Yeah." Riley said.

"Hey, Riley, is that my shoe?" Lucas asked, "Can I please have that back?"

"No." Riley smiled.

Lollie furrowed her eyebrows, "Why do you have his shoe?"

Riley continued to smile and gave the shoe to Lollie, "You can have the shoe now."

"Can I have my shoe back?"

"No." Lollie said.

"Honey, it's totally okay that you want to create space for new memories. Let's just keep the old memories somewhere safe. You may decide that you want to visit them again later." Topanga said.

"Fine. You see, Maya? One of us is completely okay with making room for the new." Riley said.

Mr. Matthews and Topanga began to laugh.

"Okay. You guys are laughing." Riley said, "Is it because I'm so right that it's funny?"

"No."

"Oh. Then why are you laughing?"

"It's just a little memory that we've put away." Mr. Matthews said.

"Yeah. Let's take it out and visit."

They explained how the day Maya found out her dad had left for good.

"Yeah, that's the day I decided that change wasn't a good thing." Maya said.

Maya sat down at the bay window, Lollie following behind her.

"Sometimes it is, Maya." Lollie said.

"I don't want to go to high school." Maya said.

"Why not?" Riley asked.

"We've always been together. What if something changes? What if something happens? People drift apart in high school." Maya said.

"Maya, how could that even possibly happen?"

"How could it possibly happen that the bay window would change? How could it possibly happen that people just leave?"

Lollie knew where she was coming from.

"It's not easy when people leave. I would know. My dad left to remember. I get it."

"Maya, sometimes change is good. It leads to a wonderful growing up. Don't you want to be big girls?" Riley asked.

"No. This was the first place that I ever thought was safe. Even if my whole world changed, this place never would." Maya said.

"Then we'll put it back. We'll put it back, Maya." Riley said.

"Riles, I know it's not just the bay window we're saying goodbye to." Maya said.

"It's us, right? You think you're gonna say goodbye to us?" Farkle asked.

"Maya, we're not going anywhere." Noah said.

"Not in high school, not any time. It's always gonna be us." Lollie said.

"Very good." Mr. Matthews said.

"That's it?" Lucas asked.

"Yeah."

"That's what you wanted us to learn?"

"Leave me alone."

"It's his day off." Topanga said.

The two of them left the room.

"Maya, we're never leaving. No matter where we go, we're never leaving. And Farkle told us that he'd always love us equally no matter what." Riley said.

"I'm as good as my promise." Farkle said.

"Lucas? Noah?"

"Right here."

"Always."

"Maya, high school's just the next place. Your safe place is us. Your safe place is Riley." Lollie said.

"And I'm all yours."

"From the day we met."
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Maya and Lollie were helping Riley redecorate her bay window. It took a while for them to rearrange the entire bay window but they officially got it done.

"Ready for this change?" Riley asked.

"Whatever you want." Maya said.

"I can't wait to see what's next. I hope it's good." Riley said.

"Promise me we'll always be together." Maya said

"We will always be together."

"Then it's good." Maya said.
