Lollie Parker

Lollie sat at the train station eating a muffin, twirling hair between her fingers, and reading a book.

"Well, another year we're not going to be cheerleaders." Riley said.

Lollie peaked up from her book and looked at the two.

"Why do you make me do these things?" Maya asked, "Pom-poms are stupid and pyramids made of humans freak me out. And what are these?"

"These are your legs." Riley told her.

"Have you ever seen anything so white?" She asked.

"One time when I looked into the sun." Riley said.

"These need to be put away. We have to go to Demolition right now and get clothes. Because you know they're gonna find out we took these things." Maya said walking away.

"But my curfew's in fifteen minutes." Riley said.

A figure sat down in front of Lollie, blocking her view of the two girls.

"Hi." Farkle smiled.

"Hey."

"Um, how are you?"

Lollie closed her book and lifted her glasses off her face.

"I'm good, thanks for asking. How about you?"

He smiled back at her, "I'm great actually."

"That's good." She smiled.

"So, I was wondering... if you wanted to hang out more often... as-"

"Friends?" Lollie asked.

"Yeah." Farkle sighed, "I mean- I've only really been friends with Maya and Riley, and with Lucas also being my friend I guess I want new friends now."

Lollie smiled at him, "Sure."

"Sure?"

"Yeah, thanks for asking."

Farkle smiled, "Great. I'll see you soon."

Lollie sat at the dining room table with the rest of her family eating dinner.

This time, Fran decided to join them.

"Then poof, it was gone." Fran laughed.

Lollie only smiled at her grandmother.

"How was everyone's day?" Finn asked.

"What happens every single day. Nothing." Noah said.

"Come on." Bailey said, "Something exciting had to happen to someone."

"Well-" Mariah started.

"If it's about you and your boyfriend... no one wants to hear it." Noah said.

Mariah rolled her eyes and slouched in her seat.

"Well, I have a great story to tell you." Fran smiled.

Lollie opened the door to her room and flipped the switch on.

She looked at her bed and saw Auggie, Riley's little brother sitting on her bed.

She put her hands over her mouth to stop her from screaming.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Do you want to play with me?"

Lollie shut the door and sat down beside him.

"What are you doing here?" She asked again.

"Riley is with Maya instead of watching me."

Lollie sighed and pulled Auggie into her lap.

"Look at the walls." She said.

"I can't see the wall."

"Right. I have books that cover my entire wall." Lollie said, "I have books that I haven't read, books I've read a thousand times, books I read as a kid, and coloring books."

He faced her, "Coloring books?"

"Yeah."

She put Auggie on his two feet and stood up.

"I have coloring books galore. I have coloring books with flowers in them, I have coloring books with animals in it, and I have coloring books with pirates in them."

"Pirates?" He smiled.

She sat down on the floor in front of the bookshelf and pulled out five coloring books.

"They all have pirates in them. They range from big pictures of them to ones where you have to take your time to color."

Auggie grabbed the book on top and opened it.

"I'm going to go downstairs and get some crayons. Don't move."

He nodded and she exited the room.

She ran to Noah's room and banged on his door.

"What?" He sighed.

"Riley's kid brother is in my room."

"So..."

"He came alone."

"Oh."

"What do I do?"

"Tell mom?" He questioned, "I really don't see why this is a big issue, Lollie."

"It's just..." She pushes past him and entered his room, "I know he doesn't want Riley to get it trouble and I just-ugh."

"Look, Lollie, I'll help you so don't say I have never done anything for you."

Lollie nodded and the two of them headed downstairs.

She grabbed the box of crayons and they headed back upstairs.

They entered Lollie's room and saw Auggie flipping through the coloring book.

"Hey, Auggie."

He faced Lollie and smiled.

"This is my brother, Noah. He's gonna play with us."

Auggie waved at Noah.

The two kids sat in the group with the box of crayons.

Auggie automatically dug his hands in the box.

It has been almost an hour and Riley hadn't shown.

Noah had left the room and returned with styrofoam swords and makeshift pirate hats.

Another hour.

Auggie fell asleep on Lollie's lap as they looked out the bay window.

She heard the door creak open and thought nothing of it.

"What is Auggie doing here?"

Lollie shut her eyes and faced her mother.

"Surprise?"

Auggie walked hand in hand with Lollie up into his bedroom window.

"I had fun, Lollie."

"I did too, Auggie."

"Do I have to go home now?"

"My mom said you had to Auggie. It was not safe for you to sneak out without Riley knowing."

Lollie opened Auggie's bedroom window and he went inside.

She looked inside and saw it was made like a pirate ship.

"Was this for Riley?"

Auggie nodded, "But Maya came."

Lollie nodded and sighed.

"I'm glad you had a good time, Auggie. I hope we can do it again."

Auggie nodded and hugged Lollie through the window.

She was hesitant but hugged him back.

"Goodnight, Auggie."

"Goodnight."

Lollie shut the window behind her and headed back inside the apartment building.

She knocked on the door and Riley answered.

"Hey." She smiled.

"Hi."

Lollie held her hand out and gave Riley the coloring books and crayons for Auggie.

"What's this for?"

"You're baby brother has been at my house for about two hours. He's here now. I thought he would like these."

"You're not joking."

Lollie shook her head, "I know you wanted to watch the show with Maya but maybe should've squeezed in some time for, Auggie."

"I'm such a horrible sister."

"I'm pretty sure he still has his ship set up. Go play with him Riley and let him know you love him."

Lollie walked away from the door.

"Thank you."

Lollie only smiled her way and headed home.

"You did the right thing last night." Finn told the two.

"It was nothing." They replied.

"It was something. You watched Auggie and he had a good time, even after you dropped him off, Lollie. You two did a really good thing." Bailey said.

"Kind of reminds me of when you two were younger and wanted to run away when Mariah said she wanted to watch the doll movies instead of you two." Fran said, "Wanna hear it?"
