Lollie Parker

Lollie stood at her locker.

Nothing from Noah in the past couple of days.

He was joint to the hip with the others.

"Still no decision on Africa?" Maya asked.

"No."

"How can I pretend that this isn't happening when you keep bringing it up, Maya?" Riley asked.

"Africa is seven thousand five hundred seventy six miles from New York." Maya said.

Lollie sighed, "Why'd you look it up?"

"Because you're already too far away and you're standing right here." Maya said, "We need to face this, Lollie. This is the end of us."

"How could you say that?" Riley asked, "How could you even think that?"

"This isn't the end of us. It's only the end of us if I say yes. Which I haven't done yet."

"We'll be together forever no matter how far we are." Riley said.

"Do you remember our third best friend Kerri Abelson?" Maya asked.

"Oh, yeah." Riley smiled, "What happened to her?"

"She moved across the street."

Lollie sighed, "I'm not Kerri Abelson. I'm Winter, I'm Lollie, I'm Ollie, and right now I'm right here."

She shut her locker and walked into the classroom, Maya and Riley following behind.

Once the three of them walked inside, it was silent, Maya and Riley taking their seats.

"I'm still here." Lollie softly smiled, "No need to lack such emotions. Nothing's happening right now."

She walked towards her desk, she grabbed Lucas' face, "Especially you."

"It's because it is happening, Lollie." Farkle said.

"How would you know?"

"Look at the board."

"Belgium eighteen thirty-one." Mr. Matthews said, "The Netherlands was a group of friendly states who thought they would stay together forever..."

"I don't like that." Lollie said, now sitting.

"Belgium eighteen thirty-one is us." Farkle said.

"...until Belgium made the decision it was time to go."

"Uh-oh!" Maya shouted, "Smackle, do something!"

"What do I do?"

"You-"

"Ask important questions! He erases it if you ask important questions!" Farkle said.

"Gotcha." She stuttered, "Why are we here? What is the meaning of love? Is there a destiny that shapes our ends? What's the deal with artificial intelligence? If it's artificial can it be intelligent? Yes."

"It was decided that Belgium would no longer be part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, but its own independent country. Belgium was free." Mr. Matthews said.

"Did people visit it?" Noah asked.

"People like who?"

"Belgium's friends."

"Did they visit or did they forget her like Kerri Abelson?" Riley asked.

"Oh, yeah." Farkle said, "What ever happened to Kerri?"

"She moved across-" Lollie started.

"I don't care. She's gone."

"At that point, Belgium was no longer part of a group, but its own sovereign nation... ready to meet the world on its own terms."

"What if it wasn't ready yet?" Lollie asked.

"What if none of us are ready for this?" Lucas asked, "I'm not ready for this, Lollie."

"So, Belgium eighteen thirty-one was gonna be about our own freedom when we left this place?" Farkle asked.

"That was my plan." Mr. Matthews said, "But sometimes things happen in life earlier than what they're supposed to."

"So, what do we do?" Zay asked.

"We do our best. Like we've always done. We leave our good mark and we hope that people remember us fondly."

"Whatever happens, I will remember you all fondly. I hope you will all do the same." Lollie said.

"I'll remember you fondly."

Lollie smiled, "Who are you?"

"Kerri Abelson."

"That's great." Lollie muttered.

"How is a decision like this made? Is it tougher to leave something you love or stay when you could be missing an opportunity?" Mr. Matthews asked.

"Well, it depends." Zay said.

"On what, Mr. Babineaux?"

"What you're leaving behind."

"Anybody else?"

"To be fair, I think it's important to know what's waiting for you wherever you're going." Lucas said.

"Right. Lucas, Zay, Noah, and Lollie all left someplace that they loved." Mr. Matthews said.

"They were right to love Texas and New Mexico." Riley said, "We had the best time in Texas."

"And we've had the best time here." Lucas said.

"New Mexico was fun." Noah said, "Hopefully we can go there together."

"So, Belgium left the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, then what happened?" Farkle asked.

"Everyone was happy forever. The end." Riley said.

"Okay. Anyone else want to try?"

"The United Kingdom of the Netherlands fell completely apart." Maya said.

"Maya," Mr. Matthews smiled, "you looked something up?"

"No. I didn't have to. You don't really have to be smart to know what's coming. It's Farkle who's always been smart. It's Farkle who wanted to know what Belgium eighteen thirty-one was ever since it went up on the board. It's Farkle who's always loved us and tried to protect us."

She stood up and placed a kiss on his cheek, causing him to faint.

"Sorry, Smackle."

"Lollie," Mr. Matthews said, "I know you. I know you'll seek out the advice of everyone close to you. I know you'll listen to what we've all got to say. And I know you're decision will be the right one."

"No matter what it is?"

"No matter what it is. We'll always be there."

﹏﹏﹏﹏

The door of the Parker household opened showing Maya, Riley, and Mr. Matthews all standing there.

Lollie turned and faced them, "You're late to the advice party. Come inside."

Riley smiled grew, "Where's-"

"I want advice from them later." Lollie said, "Right now, I just need your mom, your dad, Auggie, your grandparents, Mariah's boyfriend."

"My names-"

"I know your name. I needed advice from Eric, Shawn, Katy, Nona, Mariah, my own parents, Janitor Harley, Mr. Turner, Mr. Minkus, and Feeny."

"Noah?"

"He's upstairs. We'll talk to him later. I wanted advice. Who's better to give me advice than all these who've somehow been a big influence on my life." Lollie said, "Oh, and those two!"

She pointed towards Morgan, "I don't even know who they really are."

Eric slid his way toward the front, looking at Mr. Feeny.

He made his way towards him and Lollie.

"Fa-ha-fa..." He whispered, "Fa-ha-hay... Fa-fa-fa..."

He took a deep breath, "I'm not talking to you!"

"And I'm not talking to you."

"Fine."

"Double fine."

"I taught you that!"

"And I taught you everything else."

"Then why don't I know anything?!"

He walked away from the both of them, "Hey, Morgan. Hey, Morgan."

"My brothers."

"My sister."

"Yeah, you know we haven't all been in the same place for a long time." Mr. Matthews said.

"I don't think we've ever been in the same place together." Morgan said.

"No."

Lollie stood up, "We're doing this one at a time."

It started off with Shawn, Katy, Topanga, and Cory. Riley and Maya joining with.

"All right, look, as much as I'd hate to see you go anywhere, when I left Philadelphia to come to New York, that worked. If we didn't do that, I never would have met Katy. If we didn't do that, I- I wouldn't be happy." Shawn said, "We wouldn't have, Maya."

"Oh, guys, I'm not actually your daughter though-"

"I'll never forget when we first saw you in the hospital delivery room." Katy said.

"I don't want to be rude." Lollie said, "But whatever is happening right now can that wait till after the advice-"

"Wow, I'd really love to rewrite history, but-" Maya started.

"History is History." Mr. Matthews said, "First thing you have to know to teach History."

Mr. Turner stood up, "Matthews, as your former English teacher, I say let 'em write what they want to."

"Hey, Jon." Shawn smiled.

"Hey, Shawn."

The two of the took of them gave each other a huge embrace.

"Hey, Shawn's wife. Boy that makes me happy saying that. Hey, Shawn's wife!"

"Hey." She smiled, "Thank you for everything you've done to help make Shawn who he is."

"Yeah... I'll never forget the time I saw him in that hospital delivery room."

"Hi," Lollie said standing, "I feel like this is gonna be a very emotional and impactful story... whatever it may be. So, if we can flip to the next page."

Lollie was wearing her flared jean pants, her white heeled boots clanking against the wood floors, her yellow tank top tucked in her pants and her black cardigan hanging off her shoulders as she made her way in between Shawn and Katy.

"Get to it." She muttered.

"She's right." Shawn said, "This has- nothing to do with us. Just gonna... leave-"

"Give it." Lollie said as she took the folder and sighed, "Maya, I think this maybe yours." She smiled, talking through her teeth.

Lollie handed Maya the folder.

"You want to adopt me?"

"Yay!" Riley smiled.

"I don't know how I feel about this." Maya said.

"Yay!"

"You know, Maya, I talked with Shawn and your mom about this." Mr. Turner said, "I always regretted that I never adopted Shawn."

"Well, you know, my parents tried to adopt Shawn, but he preferred to stay a street urchin." Mr. Matthews said.

"I know this is a difficult decision to make." Shawn said.

Lollie chuckled, "You want to know another difficult decision? Mine. You know... the one where I go to Africa or not."

"Yeah, can you hold your little Lollie horses?" Shawn asked.

Lollie began to laugh and tightly grip Shawn shoulder and smiling, "Yes. I'll hold. My little. Lollie. Horse. For your dearest Maya Hart, who's not or maybe is at this point, going to Africa for x amount of years." She said through her smile.

"I've never seen her like this." Topanga said.

"And hopefully you'll never have to see it again." Lollie smiled.

"Take all the time you need." Shawn said, "Can you let go of my shoulder now?"

"Is it hurting?"

"Yes."

"Good."

Maya smiled, "I'm Maya Hunter."

Maya stood up and hugged Shawn, Katy soon joining in.

"Da- Dad- Daddy... Dad... Daddy... Dad... Hey, Dad?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"For everything I'm gonna do. Oh, and Riley and I are going to Africa."

"Awh." Lollie smiled and hugged Maya, "¿Podemos apurarnos? Antes de matar a Shawn."

"Um, translate." Shawn said.

Lollie looked up at him, "All you need to do is get someone new down here."

So, he did.

Mr. Matthews parents, Alan and Amy sat with Lollie, Maya, Riley, Topanga, and Mr. Matthews.

"We can only give you our parents' advice." Alan said, "We raised you to be good people and we know that you, Lollie, will make your best decision."

"But then you leave." Amy said, "You leave for college, you leave New York and now you're gonna fly across the ocean and take away someone who means so much to my grandchildren."

Riley began leaning into her grandmother, "Me too. Me too."

"Shawn gave better advice." Lollie said.

﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie sat at the table with both Morgan and Auggie.

Riley, Maya, Topanga, and Mr. Matthews remaining on the couch.

"Tell Lollie not to go away." He pouted.

"I'm the youngest. I'm the "baby" and so are the both of you." Lollie said.

"I know what it's like. You think no one is listening to you or your ideas, but they are. You're very important and they'll take everything you say into consideration."

"Do they?" Lollie asked, "Because there's two of you and I didn't know who to invite."

Morgan smiled, "How do I know everything's gonna be okay?" Lollie asked.

"Life knows that in order to be the best person you can be, sometimes it's good to stay and sometimes you gotta go."

Blond Morgan came downstairs, high-fiving the other as she left.

Auggie now sat in Lollie's lap.

"I was once the youngest, just like you."

"Is there gonna be another one of us?" Auggie asked.

"Yeah, I'm confused." Lollie added.

"Just you." Riley said.

"Good."

"Just know that Lollie is gonna make the right decision. She always does. Trust her. Being the youngest is really important. You're the one they hold on to."

"Is this advice for me or for Auggie?"

"Both of you."

Brunette Morgan sat down beside them, "Or not."

﹏﹏﹏﹏

Josh sat at the table with Mariah, Lollie, Maya, and Riley.

"You love my sister?"

"Ye-"

"Don't tell me, tell her."

"I love you."

Lollie looked at Mariah, "Do you love him?"

"I-"

"Don't tell me tell him."

"I love you, too."

"Awh." The girls smiled, "It's kinda gross because you're old." Lollie said.

"Lollie." Mariah said.

She held her hands up, "The point of that was... I've never seen Mariah happier with a guy. You treat her right and that's good. I don't want you breaking my sisters heart."

"Not planning on it."

"Good. Whether or not I choose to go. You'll be the shoulder she cries on. You'll be her helping hand. You'll tell her that things will be okay, and that everything is gonna work out in the end. I'm not asking you to do this... I'm telling you."

Lollie looked at Mariah, "Whatever's between the two of you I hope you're happy. Same for you Josh. I want this to work, but I don't want you kissing in front of me... kinda of gross."

﹏﹏﹏﹏

Mr. Feeny sat with the girls, along with Topanga and Mr. Matthews.

"You don't need me for this." He said.

"You taught my mother everything. There's gotta be something you can teach me."

"Africa... Nelson Mandela. I'll think you'll flourish there just as you flourished here."

"You're telling me to go?"

"I told your mother to go to Harvard. Why didn't she?"

"She always said she knew someone was going to be at Pennbrook." Lollie said, "She said it was her better offer."

"And now you have an offer. And I'm sure you'll chose wisely because if you're anything like your mother, you're a great test-taker."

"What about me?" Mr. Matthews asked.

"Don't listen to him."

﹏﹏﹏﹏

Eric came inside later on, limping.

"I just got hit by the subway! Okay, so what's the problem?"

"I got the opportunity to go an art school in Africa."

"What?!" He shouted, "Who's gonna play, Lollie? Wait a second, I can play Lollie."

"Eric!" Topanga shouted.

"Urr-ich!"

"I hope you can surprise me with some wonderful advice." Lollie said.

"I am. Now, listen, when I was elected Senator in two thousand-aught-fifteen, I've come to realize that what might be a clear decision for some is not clear for me." He said, "Look... listen to your heart. Your heart is what's gonna tell you what to do. And then go and find your favorite quiet place. Mine is under the ocean."

﹏﹏﹏﹏

"Your son holds great friendship."

"Farkle talks highly of you."

"I think highly of him. He's always there. He's the best I could ever ask for. I'm glad I know Farkle. You raised him well."

"And I still am."

﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie sat with her parents and Nona, "Hit me something please."

"What's wrong?" Finn asked.

"Still lost."

"I already told you, Lollie. We've got your back." Bailey said, "We're not going to replace you and we're not going to forget you."

"If anything I'll forget about how I've already told you how I became a Nanny." Fran said.

"It's like your life's a sitcom, Nona."

"I know what I would want you to do." Finn said.

"What?"

"Go to Africa."

"What?"

"You think Noah is mad at you?" Finn asked, "He isn't. Not anymore anyway. He was upset that you didn't tell him, but if you go... he's gonna miss you."

Noah sat down next to her, "Go."

"Why?"

"Because... this is your big opportunity... take it."

Lollie stood up, "Where are you going?" Noah asked.

"We are going to Topanga's."

﹏﹏﹏﹏

"Something happened to me and Farkle, Lollie."

She smiled, "What was it?"

"Well, we were studying molecular structures, and it occurred to us that we are all made with particular molecules." Farkle said.

"And if anything changes, then we're simply not who we were. We are actually different."

"Very interesting."

"What?" Riley questioned.

"If Lollie leaves us, we will actually be different." Farkle explained.

"And that's when it occurred to me that I was feeling sadness. I identified it as sadness, because I was crying."

"You don't cry."

"I don't cry." She said, "But now I know it was because nothing has ever made me sad enough before." She stood up, "I just want to say thank you for these feelings, Lollie."

She stuck her arms out. Lollie stood up and hugged her tightly as did Smackle.

"Thank you for teaching me that beauty is not only sink deep." Lollie smiled, "You're getting better with hugging."

"Hey, Lollie."

She faced him and sat down, "Hi, Zay."

"Just want to let you know that I'll make sure Lucas is okay."

"You will?"

"Oh, I'll walk him and feed him and make sure he never forgets about you."

"I will never forget about her."

"That's a good boy." Zay smiled, "Good boy."

"Hi, Zay."

"Hey, Lollie."

"You are the one that closed our circle, it was never complete without you."

"Smackle, I'm feeling something."

"Sadness! I'm good at emotions now."

"I've loved you since the first grade."

She faced Farkle, "I didn't-"

"I always will love you, wherever you are."

"I love you, Farkle. Ever since the first grade."

"Guys, no decision has been made yet." Maya said, "There's a good chance she's not going anywhere. Actually I know she's not going anywhere because life knows there's no replacement for her because nobody cares about me as much as she does, so that's how I know she's not going anywhere, so ha."

"Hey." Josh said walking inside.

"I spoke to you earlier so I wouldn't have to speak to you now." Lollie said.

"I was thinking about you guys and what you all must be feeling. Thought I should come over."

"Thought wrong, Uncle Boing." Lollie said.

"I know what this is." Maya said, "Life is trying to replace you. Life moves fast. Life does a good job. Life gave me a commitment to my boyfriend. Wait, you're actually leaving. You're really gonna go."

Lollie sighed, "You guys are gonna be fine. We will all be fine. We have to be fine."

Lucas stood up and walked towards the door, gesturing for Lollie to follow.

Smackle stood up, "Smackle."

The two of them sat on the steps.

"No matter want happens in my life, you will always be my first girlfriend."

"You saying that to make me stay?"

"No." He smiled, "Years from now, whenever anybody asks me, "Who was your first girlfriend?" I will always answer, "Lollie Parker.""

"And I will always say "I loved my first boyfriend, Lucas Friar.""

He smiled, "That night when you came into my room and gave me this charming bracelet that I wear everyday, you said "I love you." and I said nothing." Lollie said.

"You didn't have to."

"But I should've. Because I love you." She said, "My mom never says too when she says she loves, Finn. She said it felt like she was forcing herself to love someone, so whenever they "I love you." there's no too because they know. I appreciate everything you've done for me this far."

"And I will continue to do whatever I can."

"Why?"

"Because you know I won't stop."

"I hope that you get to be a veterinarian someday."

"And I hope that you become a more talented artist than what you are now."

"So, what are we now?" She asked.

"Oh, I'm still your boyfriend."

She laughed and rested her hand on his shoulder.

Maya and Riley soon came out, "Bay window?"

"It's about time you've asked."

The two of them stood up from the stairs, Maya grabbing Lollie's hand and the three of them were off.

Hearing her footsteps coming back, Lucas stood by the doorframe.

Lollie stood in front on him, still being very short compared and rested her hands on his face.

"You're one of my many quiet places and no matter how far I am, I hope you continue to be that a part of that."

"Always."

﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie, Maya, and Riley stood at the doorway of Riley's bedroom as they listened to Auggie talk to Ava.

"Your turn now?" He asked.

"Yeah." Riley said, "I don't think that we can do any better than that."

Auggie and Ava, hand in hand left the room; Maya and Riley sat at the bay window.

Lollie lingered a little longer before she sat down, "Goodbye, Lollie." Maya cried.

"It's never goodbye. It's see you later." Lollie said.

"Well, see you later."

﹏﹏﹏﹏

All gathered at Topanga's seeing Lollie sitting alone in a chair, looking at them.

"You all came." She smiled, "For me?"

"How are you joking right now?" Noah asked.

"Prevents me from crying my eyes out, duh." She said, "But, I do appreciate everyone coming at such a late notice."

Lollie chuckled again and held a small smile, her eyes tearing up and her smile slightly trembling, "I appreciate you all highly, but I'm really excited to go to Africa. To explore. See a new world, but just because I'm there and you're here doesn't mean I'll miss any of you any less."

Lollie knew that she didn't want to leave off on a bad note with anyone, especially Noah.

Lollie had everyone seemingly on her side... everyone but Noah.

Zander entered the small café and knocked gently on the door, "Hey, we got to get ready to catch a flight, kid."

Lollie sighed, dragging her suitcases behind her as she walked towards the exit.

She turned and faced them again, the small smile never leaving her face as she waved goodbye to the others.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Everyone entered the Parker household with silence and without Lollie in tow, but that didn't stop her from calling Noah as soon as she got to the airport.

Noah smiled, knowing she couldn't see it, "You've always wanted to travel the world, Lollie."

"I know." She cried, "I just wish you could go. I wish all of you could go."

"This is your dream, Lollie. We're not gonna stop you from doing what you want. So, have fun. Go crazy. Make friends." Noah said.

"If I wanted to make new friends I would."

There was a knock on the door.

Noah stood up and answered.

"But it's not really a dream if I can't do it with the people I love the most."

Noah smiled just as hard as she didn't and hugged her.

Everyone spoke simultaneously as they gathered around in a group hug.

Lollie was telling the truth. She was actually excited to go to Africa. She had the opportunity to go to a school and live her dreams, but she knew she wouldn't fully be happy there.

She had grown closer with Zander, but Finn stepped into the father figure role when he didn't have to. Mariah and Noah becoming the best siblings she could've asked for, and her mother, the person who had been with her every step of the way. Lollie couldn't leave that. She couldn't leave the home she had grown up in just yet.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie sat at her bay window, Lucas by her side.

"What changed your mind?" Lucas asked.

"My family has always been here and moving away with Zander was something really ready for." She answered, "Besides, there are always better opportunities, betters school, but better Lucas Frair or a Farkle Minkus. I love you both. I can't see my life without either of you."

Lucas smiled, "I love you."

"Love you, always."

Winter "Lollie" Parker, was the new girl in town. She didn't think she wouldn't make friends, grow bonds, or fall in love, but hey, that's life. She took the world in her hands and made it her own. Lollie was golden and she wouldn't change how she made her friends, made a sibling bond with her brother and her best friend, and fallen in love with the country boy next door.

Lollie Parker knew she could take on the world.
