Dear lord, when I get to heaven
Please let me bring my man
When he comes tell me that you'll let him in
Father tell me if you can
Oh that grace, oh that body
Oh that face makes me wanna party
He's my sun, he makes me shine like diamonds
-Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey
It was 5 am, and the sun was rising up to it's fullest, and Harry and Louis are yet to leave the beach incase people starts to crowd. Luckily, it was empty, just like Harry's heart, Louis concluded. The sands were covering the cerulean eyed boy's bare feet, as he hugs his knees to his chest, resting his chin on his knees. His thoughts were as deep as they could go, but he managed to look calm and collected, even if he was a storm in the inside. Harry on the other hand, looked troubled and confused, glancing at Louis every now and then, before staring straight ahead. It concerned the blue eyed boy to no end.
Louis' mind went back to Xavier. Was he worried at Louis' disappearance? Or had Hayden informed him after he left, knowing Harry was gonna follow him? He sighed. Yes, Xavier was kind to him, and he was also attractive as hell, but Louis was not into him at all. He thinks of him as his older brother, or his best friend who helped him, but never beyond that. He respects the man, but he would rather keep it friendly, and professionally.
"Lou." Harry mumbled beside him. Louis looks up, trying not to flutter under the emerald eyed man's gaze. "Why were you with Hayden?" Harry had a jealous glint in his chartreuse eyes, and his hand was formed into a fist. If he was a cartoon character, his face would be as red as a tomato, and steam leaving his ears.
Louis wanted to laugh at the way Harry seemed to react, but he figured that it was not a wise choice. "What does it look like? Dinner of course." He explains, waiting for the curly haired man's response.
"That didn't look like a normal dinner for me." Harry scoffed, rolling his eyes immaturely. "Holding each other's hands, and having such deep, and personal converstaion, wasn't exactly the epitome of a normal dinner."
"Whatever you say, Harry. You don't see me attacking you and your boy toys." Louis snapped, feeling angry all of a sudden. How unfair; Harry can be jealous all he wants, and stops him when he's out with someone else, but when the man himself fucks someone else other than Louis, the latter doesn't have the right to?
"I told you they don't matter to me."
Louis wanted to vomit. "They're humans too, Harry! They have feelings too, and possibly heart broken after you left them after you had your ways with them. They thought that they could be with you, just like I did, thought they could get you to commit. But, clearly, we were wrong. So, don't say they didn't matter when they allowed you to fuck them, and then still accept you after you left them." He rambled, he was just so done with Harry's shit. "Unfortunately for you, I'm done being a fool and falling back in your arms."
Harry was quiet by the time Louis had finished; his bottom lip was under his teeth, and his eyebrows were pulled together. He looked sorry. Louis was now tempted to reach out and hug the man, but he remembered what he said earlier. "I know, I'm sorry."
"Forget it, Harry."
The familiar silence lingers once again, but this time, the sound of the waves calmed Harry down, as his mind fills with thoughts that can drown him anytime soon. He knows that what he did to Louis was unforgivable, but he really wants to gain the boy's trust and prove to him that he's genuine, and sincere now. But first, he should apologize to everyone that he had hurt, and end things with his boy toys after apologizing. Changing himself for the better should be his priority first, before anything else. Although, for now, he should be there for Louis as much as possible, and try to regain his trust.
He glanced at Louis and spoke. "You were my sun."
The feathery haired boy gazed back at him, confusion written on his face. "Were?" Harry nodded at him.
"You were my sun, but I never look at you except in frustration. I basked in your warmth, but I always complain. On days when you were gone, I never looked out for you. I never looked at you until you were leaving, and in the beauty of the sunset I saw yesterday, I had wondered how I've never seen you before." Harry explained, giving a soft look of admiration towards Louis' stiffed direction.
Louis was speechless. The fact that he used to be Harry's sun-- in a bad way-- amazed him, yet a pang of pain was burried deep inside. He didn't utter a word, nor did Harry, but they gazed at the sunrise that was too aesthetic, and made a reside in Louis' heart, finding solace and peace.
Harry's thoughts quickly vanished as he drinks up the beauty of the sun in front of him, and the beauty of the moon beside him. He had concluded that Louis was the epitome of the moon—beautiful, calm, and could light up every edge of darkness within him. He wanted to touch Louis, but he fears that he will be rejected, and the thought of his chances slipping away terrified him. He was tempted, but the desire of regaining the trust of the boy was stronger than ever. He will try to be the man that he truly should be, and respect Louis, but that doesn't mean that he would let the boy go. The thought of Louis leaving made his chest hurt in the most painful way there is, as if a bullet had made its way inside. He just hopes that he won't make another mistake and let Louis go.
"We should go back, now." Louis said.
"If I'll take you back to that punk, it means that you won't ever see me again, because you'll avoid any contact with me— and fuck, Lou. I can't let you do that. I may be an asshole who had hurt you, but I'm an asshole who's trying to fix things with you, and become someone better for you." Harry stated, feeling a heavyweight on his shoulders and in his heart.
Louis shook his head, lips pursed. "Harry, I need to heal."
"Heal with me, please." Harry softly said, taking Louis' hands in his, and staring at him with a hopeful look. "Heal with me, Lou, but I can't promise you that I won't hurt you, because I'm only a human being who happens to make mistakes, but I can assure you that I will do anything for you. I will commit to you, and only you, no one else but you, Louis Tomlinson. Not only will I give you myself, but also the whole galaxy. Just give me a chance, Lou, and I promise that you won't regret it."
Louis was in tears by the time Harry had finished. The emerald eyed man looked so hopeful, and so determined, and it made something inside Louis, flutter. "I don't want the whole galaxy, Harry-- I only want you." He spoke as if he was walking on eggshells, and the look on Harry's face made him smile. "I'm giving you a chance because I know something or someone had hurt you so much to the point where you don't know how to love yourself. I hope I won't regret this, Harry, I had been hurt too many times already."
Happiness was an understatement in Harry's case. By the time Louis had finished his sentence, he launched himself into the boy, and wrapped his arms around his petite body, holding the boy as if he was gonna disappear anytime soon. Unknowingly, he was holding his home, his world, and the center of his universe; maybe in time he will know, but for now, he was contented in holding the most precious boy in his life.
"Don't let me go, Harry. I'm tired of sleeping alone."
"I'm here now, Lou."
