The Escape-PartEight

I stand rigidly as I think of the plan.

Loki and Thor are going to get the ship and free the gladiators, I don't know what Valkryie or Banner are doing, and I'm going to. . .well, I'm going to do something. . . I think.

Darn, I should have paid more attention to the plan! Loki kept distracting me...

Oh, I know! I'm going to incapacitate as many guards as I can, you know, with my mind powers. Ok, I can do this. It's not that hard. Just focus and explode their minds, or something like that. Haven't figured it all out yet, but I'm sure I'll get it.

Stealthily, I look around a corner and spot my first victim, a random dude in armour-ish gear. Mustering my courage, I close my eyes and delve into his brain, finding my way through his memories. I concentrate on putting pressure onto his skull, a force pushing outward.

He yells in agony, so I know it worked. Disoriented, he stumbles blindly.

I smirk, and continue my work.

~Loki's POV~

"Loki, I thought the world of you." Thor says to me, as I stand beside him in the elevator.

"I thought we were gonna fight side by side forever, but, at the end of the day, you're you and I'm me. I don't know, maybe there's still good in you, but, let's be honest, our paths diverged a long time ago." He continues, in a sad fashion.

I make a face and nod, "Yeah, it's probably for the best that we never see each other again."

"It's what you always wanted." Thor smiles, and claps me on my back.

I almost feel bad about betraying him. But, not that bad.

(Y/n) knows that I'm going to betray Thor, and she's perfectly fine with it. In fact, she's perfect! The way she moves, albeit not too gracefully, the way she talks and doesn't bend to anyone's will, the way her h/c hair falls in beautiful disarray. The way her e/c eyes sparkle when she sees me.

Focus Loki!

Fine, but I'd rather think of her. How she doesn't care what planet we live on as long as we're together. Thinking of her creates this odd warm fuzzy feeling inside me, almost making me...nauseous. But, I love the feeling, and I want it to blossom. Even being apart from her for this long is excruciating.

"...Loki? Did you listen to anything I've said?"

"Wha?" I glance at Thor. We're in an elevator and I think I've been talking to him, but I can't remember our conversation.

Thor sighs, "Let's do 'Get Help'."

"What?"

"'Get Help'."

"No."

"C'mon, you love it."

"I hate it."

"It's great, it works every time."

"It's humiliating."

"Do you have a better plan?"

"No."

"We're doing it."

"We are not doing 'Get Help'." I state plainly.

But, I find myself wrapping my arm around his shoulder and limping out of the elevator, despite my resolve.

"Get help! Please, my brother's dying!!! Help him!" Thor shouts franticly, but then he lifts me up and throws me onto the four guys.

I groan.

"Classic," Thor says.

"Still hate it. It's humiliating."

"Well, not for me it's not."

I moan, standing to my feet. Then, I proceed to type in the codes to open the door.

Thor and I pick up the guards guns, and we shoot the guys on the other side, and I get to work on those codes.

~Your POV~

It's been awhile, and I have incapacitated everyone I've come across, and now I'm on my way to the rendezvous with Bruce and Valkryie. I run to the roof, and see Thor flying a cool spaceship.

"THOR, OVER HERE!" I yell, waving my arms at him. He sees me, and hovers so that I can get into the ship.

As soon as I'm in I notice something's off.

"Thor," I ask cautiously as he takes off again, "where's Loki?"

"He's not coming."

"What? No, we can't leave without him!"

"He betrayed us."

"Of course he betrayed you! I was going to betray you. He's Loki for crying out loud!" I shout. What do I do? I can't think straight, I'm panicking. I take a deep breath as Bruce gets on the plane and try not to freak out too much.

"Where's Loki?" Banner asks.

"He betrayed us, so I left him."

I think back to the gun I'm holding, taken off the last dude I hurt. I glance at the back of Thor's head. Inhaling deeply, I point it towards him.

Suddenly, pain shoots through me, and I'm being electrocuted. Shaking violently, I sputter curses and collapse on the floor. Sparks dance at the edges of my eyes, and my vision is blurred with tears.

It hurts so much.

"Knew you'd do that." Thor says simply. He must have put a taser thing on my back.

Errrrr, I continue to shake and shudder, feeling nauseous. Please blackout already!

You want me to black out?!

No, you want you to blackout because you're in excruciating pain.

Good p  o       i         n          t . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
