FINALLY A FRICKIN CHAPTER! However it's nothing real special. Like the title of this chap, it's to prepare you for the story. Good thing is, you get to see Loki back in action and better than ever next chapter!!!! And possible new kits?

Asguard had been peaceful for a couple of years after Loki's actions to take over Midguard. Everyone was in peace and living life to its fullest.

However, in the palace everyone was waiting anxiously for the arrival of the new kits that their prince's cat was going to give.

Most of all, was Loki, who spent his every waking moment with the mother. Adara was now 7 weeks pregnant and it was really starting to show. Her stomach was frighteningly big to the God but the mortal assured him that it was suppose to be that way. In another week, Jane would stay on Asguard until Adara had her litter. Until then, Loki was given strict instructions that the cat was to eat lots of fatning foods and at least walk twice a day. Above all, don't stress her out.

If Loki could pick the one thing he liked about this, it was the walks. They would go early in the morning and late in the afternoon, just before supper. His pace was slow due to Adara's large stomach, but he didn't mind. They would go to the beach, or adventure past the gardens behind the palace.

And this morning, was perfect for a walk.

Adara's perspective

Slowly I walked next to Loki, occasionally bumping into him but said nothing. My body felt like it was working on over drive with the little life forms in my stomach. I found myself eating way more than I should've and I would occasionally snap at Loki. I felt bad after it would happen but he would always insist that it wasn't my fault.

I sighed making him look at me. "Are you all right?"

I flicked my tail in annoyance.
"Yes." I clipped the sentence short.

There was a silence that hung in the air as we walked through the forest. Loki looked like he was amused with this conversation which we've had possibly a million times.

"What if you don't make it back in time? I don't want to have to go through this alone." I growled.

"I have promised you once, I'll be back before you give birth."

I growled as Loki chuckled patting my head for reassurance. I started to tire and nudge his leg letting him know that it was time for a break. Together we laid down under the shade of a large tree. It was starting to warm up now but the breeze felt nice against my fur.

I laid down, using Loki as support as his hand rub my stomach. "If I didn't know better, I'd say that you're more excited than I for the kits." I smiled a toothy grin.

I felt Loki's body go tense. I knew he was still slightly uncomfortable showing his true emotions but I had to give him credit. He was trying. "Well... I've never really had a family of my own." He whispered like the trees were listening to us.

I purred, "grandpa Loki....." I tested, "I like the sound of that."

Loki grumbled a little pulling out his book, "I'm not that old."

We laid that that for a few hours as the sun rose and the wind blew. Birds would sing their songs while the occasional flip of the page cut through nature's sound. I drifted in and out of sleep thinking about what the future would hold for me and these kits that would be my family.

I wasn't ready for it, but I knew that my master would never leave my side nor I his. We'd get through this together.

I growled in annoyance, pacing back and forth occasionally loosing my balance.

"Adara, calm down. Loki's only been gone for an hour." Jane said looking through some papers.

I huffed, "I know, but I feel as though I should be out there fighting with him." (Here's a hint for future chapters ;) )

"It's not like you're not doing anything. You have your own battle here."

I sat on my hunches stubbornly agreeing with her. It's not easy but then again, it's not easy being pregnant.

"Where are you going?" Jane asked quizickly to me. I was getting ready to leave before turning with a growl.
"I'm going to go see Selphinr " And like that I was gone.

Boom. Adara, your so snippy, you need to have the kits soon and Loki, get ready to hear grandpa Loki!~
