Loki - Training
About: you are about to join the Avengers, but before you get to be part of their team, you have to pass an exam. Loki is by your side once you take the exam and when you fail, he will train you to pass it and that takes a turn.
All the Avengers sat around the kitchen table, including you and two Asgardians. They all smiled at you, excited from the news you just received.
"Welcome to the team, Y/N," Tony said to you while flashing you a wink. You tried to keep the grin off your face, but an enthusiastic chuckle left your lips.
"You're an Avenger!" Thor cheered as he took a bite of his Poptart. Tony smiled proudly at you, almost like a father.
"You can't go on missions with us yet," Natasha reminded you. You nodded in understanding. "You have to pass our fitness exam first, but I reckon that shouldn't be a problem." She wrapped an arm around you and ruffled your hair.
"Alright, who's going to take care of her and that exam?" Tony asked, looking around the table and eyeing everyone. Clint shook his head.
"Sorry, family dinner today," he muttered, taking Thor's Poptart and taking a bite before handing it back to him. Thor then looked at his brother Loki, who sat on a chair with his shoulders slumped in boredom.
"Loki can do it," Thor proposed, unnecessaryly pointing at him. "He's good at observing people." Tony considered his words, before nodding in agreement.
"He doens't do anything else anyway other than observing people. What do you say, Mischief?" Loki sputtered, then caught your gaze. You squirmed in your seat under his icy glare and were relieved when he threw it at Tony.
"What if she doesn't pass?" he inquired, his grip around his coffee mug tightening. Tony shrugged and stared at Natasha for answers. She grinned.
"Then you'll get to train her until she passes that exam," she said with a honeyed voice. You gulped as you looked at Loki, who looked as if he wanted to stab you every second of this coversation, over and over again. To your surprise, he leaned back in his seat with a smirk.
"Fine, what do I get in return?" All of the Avengers rolled their eyes and Thor glared at his little brother.
"Our respect," Pietro said with a smile. Loki huffed, but agreed anyway.
The next hour you were on a grass field, you could think of it as Tony's backyard like he told you. Loki stood with his back to you, fiddling with clipboard, some important looking papers and a stopwatch. You hopped towards him in your yoga trousers and a sportsbra, excited that this was the big moment before you got to join the Avengers on a big mission Natasha told you about earlier. The adrenaline rushed through your body like a wildfire. You were so ready to get this exam over with.
"Hi, my fellow Avenger," you chirped as you jumped into his sight. His face scrunched up in disgust.
"Shut up, mortal. You didn't make the team yet," he mumbled as he scribbled something down on the papers. Your smile vanished and you shifted awkwardly from one foot to another until his gaze settled upon you. "One lap around this field in less than three minutes and you're one of us, I guess." He sounded disintrested, but you filled with excitement. Three minutes? You looked around the field. This was almost to easy to be true.
"When do I start?" you asked him, looking up at him with big eyes and a huge smile. He smirked down at you.
"Ten seconds ago." The smile around your lips disappeared and you darted away from him, starting your run, frown deepening as you thought that through. It was a false start. If that was the cause for you not passing the exam, you would definitely put the blame on yourself for not paying attention.
You kicked your legs from underneath you as fast as you could and by the time you reached him, you were out of breath.
"Did I make it?" you asked hopefully. He looked down at the stopwatch with a smirk, that quickly faded as his mouth fell agape, eyes widened comically. "Did I?" He blinked and then stared at you and replied in a cold tone:
"No."
"What?" you squeaked. "What's my time then?" He glared at you over his shoulder as he walked away from the field.
"That's of none importance. You failed the exam," he said casually, staching the stopwatch in his pocket.
"I can do better. If you show me my time I could improve," you reasoned, badly wanting to see how much you screwed up. He shook his head as you sprinted to his side, jogging to keep up with his rapid pace.
"You failed, mortal."
"What now? I can't be an Avenger?" A sudden sadness washed over you as that might be the hurting truth. Your heart squeezed painfully. You worked so hard for this and it was all gone in more than three minutes.
"I don't know. According to Agent Romanoff I'll have to train you until you're worthy of being an Avenger. Which, you are now not," he sneered. You breathed a sigh of relief. You still had a shot to make this work. You wanted to be part of their team so badly.
"Alright," you said softly. "When does the training begin?"
"Now."
Once Loki led you to the gym of Stark Tower, he put his clipboard aside and held his opened his arms.
"Try to put me on my back." He raised an eyebrow when you gaped at him. "Come on, little one, fight me."
You stood there, arms limp at your side as you approached him.
"Do you really want me to-?" You squeaked when his hand took a hold of your wrist and with a flick of his arm, he hauled you onto the floor. Your knee hit the wooden floor a little harder than you expected and you winched, rubbing the sore spot.
"You're slow, little one," he said with a smirk. "Try again." You looked up at him from the floor and got up.
"I don't want to hurt you," you said as you carefully stood in front of him. He laughed in your face and tackled you to the ground. You grunted and frowned.
"You can't hurt me, mortal," he snickered. "Again." Your frown deepened and you straighened your posture. He lurched forward and your instinct made you lunge to the side, dodging his attack. He turned around like cat and tried to grab your arm, but once again you avaded his quick hands, only you were quicker. "You can't keep avoiding me, little one, attack for once!" Just as he was distracted by saying these words, you were quick enough to sneak behind your back and kick the back of his knees so he collapsed onto the floor. Your hand swiftly grabbed his shoulder and turned him around onto his back, locking his frame into place. He grunted.
"I win," you chirped. He rolled his eyes and pushed you off him.
"Because I let you," he huffed.
After a month, you still hadn't done the exam again. That was because your personal trainer didn't let you, and used you weren't ready yet as an excuse. You also found yourself dreading to get up in the morning. You didn't want to train with him anymore, because every time you did, you felt like an idiot who couldn't compete with a God.
Although those feeling overshadowed everything else in that moment, you couldn't look past the feelings that you started to develop for your trainer. You shook your head, convincing yourself of it that he wasn't fond of you to say the least.
In your usual training outfit, you had find the strenght to get out of bed and head to the gym. Loki wasn't there yet, but you started warming up anyway.
A few minutes later he showed up and he was in a shitty mood that reflected yours, but you wouldn't let it show. You also never said anything when he threw nasty comments at you when you were working out to get in shape.
"Are you ready for today?" he asked as he approached you. You licked your lips and nodded, covering your exposed tummy because his eyes seemed to linger there instead of meeting your eyes. "Good, start with fifty push-ups and then we'll see." You groaned inwardly, but didn't utter a word of resistance towards him.
With a barely audible sigh, you got into a high plank and started doing your first push-up. Your arms screaming in protest of yesterdays treatment.
Fifty agonizing push-ups later, you smiled through the pain. You've made that. Thank God for that.
"I'm done," you said with a smile towards him. He was reading on the bench and shook his head disapprovingly.
"Those weren't push-up, darling," he tutted. "Your but keeps poking out, you need to use have a straight back, use your core to hold that position." He smirked. "Again." You closed your eyes.
"Please, my arms hurt," you pleaded with him. He sighed and put his book down before strolling over to you. He crossed his arms over his chest and frowned.
"You can do fifty sit-ups instead, then," he said with a pompous smirk. You wanted to glare at him, maybe stick your tongue out and tell him to- no. You can't do that. He's your only shot to be an Avenger. You laid down onto the ground and hitched your knees up. "Wait a second, little one." He went to sit on his knees in front of you and plached his hands on your ankles, pulling them apart so he could sit between your legs. You bit your lip as his eyes met yours, a smirk playing around his lips. Your stomach fluttered and you took a sharp breath to calm yourself. "Fifty sit-ups, now."
You frowned and cursed him inside your head. You scrunched up and did you first sit-up. Loki pushed you down again and your eyes widened as your back hit the floor again. Just because he was good-looking and extremely attractive didn't mean you didn't hate him a little in that moment.
"One," he counted. And like that, you did fifty sit-ups. Your abs were crying by the time you finished and you limply stayed like that once you did the last one.
"Good," he said softly, patting your knee. "Turn around, push-ups again." You closed your eyes as you did as he told you, your arms already yelling at you to stop as you got into a plank. You were so tired already. Your muscles were still sore from yesterday and the day before yesterday.
You did one push-up. Loki tsked.
"Not great, darling," he said. He sat beside you on his knees as one of his hands went to your tummy, pushing you up a little. "I told you to have a straight back when you're doing this." You did your second push-up, gritting your teeth in the process. "Your but keeps poking out, Again."
He placed a hand on your ass and pushed it down, which made holding your plank more difficult. Dispite your protesting arms, you did another.
"Deeper, that's not a push-up," he said. "Come on, you can do it," he said as he placed his other hand between your shoulders and pushed you down again. You squeezed your eyes shut as you pushed yourself up again. "Do you call that a push-up. I'm losing my patience, dear," he drawled. He put pressure on your shoulders and forced you down so deep your sore arms collapsed from under you.
Not being able to hold yourself up, your face crashed onto the floor and pain burned your nose. You whimpered and your hand flew to your face by instinct. Blood streamed onto the floor. You kept your fingers clamped around your nose and just lay there.
"Come on, don't give up now. Try again."
You kept still, fighting the urge to cry, whether it was from your aching muscles or the pain that wrecked your nose. Loki rolled his eyes and grabbed your shoulder before forcing you to lay on your side. He noticed your bloodstained hands. His eyes went wider and he hauled you up by your shoulder so he could get you in a sitting position. You squeezed your eyes shut.
"Y/N," he called, letting his fingers trail along your cheek. You pulled away from him and forced yourself to stand up, hand still clutching your bleeding nose.
"I don't want to be an Avenger anymore," you said quietly, eyes threatening to spill tears. "You've been nothing but mean to me and if you're going to treat me like that, I don't want to be part of the team."
He gave you a terrified look, blended with shock. You turned around and walked away - to your room, where you took care of your bleeding nose.
At the time the Avengers had gone to sleep, youretreated from your room, then went to the living room and settled down on the couch. You popped open your phone and went through all the social media accounts you had.
Heavy footfalls startled you and you looked behind you for the intruder. Loki entered the room and stopped in his tracks to stare at you. You did the exact same. He opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again.
"You passed," he whispered. You frowned. "You passed the exam from the beginning. I owe you an apology as well." You blinked at him.
"So, what does that change?" you asked him, your eyes back to you phone until you felt him sit beside you.
"I changes everything. You're an Avenger," he whispered as he took the device from you and placing it onto the small table. "You're one of us."
"I don't know if I want to," you said, avoiding his gaze. He closed his eyes and took your hand in his.
"I'm terribly sorry of how I treated you. I shouldn've done that," he said. "I just thought you were fun to hang out with and I figured once you got the news of being an Avenger you were going to ignore me like the rest." You swallowed at the new piece of information. "The others know you passed the exam, Y/N. I just wanted to spend some time with you."
You nodded, staring down at your hands.
"Then you should have said that. Throwing nasty comments at me about how my but keeps poking out doesn't make me like you. Neither does it when you make me feel stupid or clumsy." He bit his lips.
"I really am sorry." He squeezed your hand and gave you a pleading look. You smiled.
"What was my time?" you wanted to know. He carefully mirrored your smile.
"Two minutes and fourtynine seconds," he admitted.
"Minus the ten seconds," you said, proud that you actually did it.
"I'm sorry," he said again. "For you nose too."
"Yeah, that still hurts," you admitted. Loki smiled and leaned in. Your breath hitched when his lips descended on your nose, kissing it.
"My mom used to kiss my injuries too. It always made it better," he explained as he let a finger glide up the bridge of your nose. You smiled. And although he was really mean towards you, he had sincererly apologized to you. And besides, you couldn't ignore how your skin tingled when his lips met your nose, the way your heartbeat fastened and your stomach fluttered.
"It actually does feel better. My lips hurt too, tough," you whispered. He chuckled and happily filled in your intentions.
