Loki - Rejected
It has been a couple months since Loki and Thor came and live in Stark Tower. You had started to develop some feelings towards the God of Mischief and desperately tried to be his friend.
Loki was reading a book on the couch and you held yours close to your chest, strolling over to the couch as well.
'Good afternoon, Y/N,' he spoke in his usual silky voice. You smiled brightly and sat down on the other side of the couch. He never looked up from his book, but did came and sit closer to you, picking your legs up from the floor and placing them on his lap. You bit your lip as you opened your book and tried to focus on the words. One of his hands was resting on your ankle while the other was holding up his book.
'Hello,' you whispered. You had a good moment, for as long as it lasted. Thor came into the living room and tapped his brother on the shoulder.
'What?' Loki snapped.
'Brother, I see you are enjoying lady Y/N's company. Are you two a thing now?' Thor boomed with an enthousiastic voice. Loki scoffed.
'Of course not. She's a mewling-' he looked over at you. Your throat started to get dry and you stared at him. 'Get off me,' he sneered as he pushed your feet from his lap and got up. Straightening out his clothes as if dirt was on it. Your mouth hung slightly agape, not believing what was happening. Why was he suddenly so mean towards you. He walked out of the room, forgetting his book and leaving you with Thor.
'I'm sorry, Y/N,' Thor apologized for his brother. 'I'm sure he didn't mean it. He can have quite a temper sometimes,' Thor laughed away.
'It's alright, Thor,' you assured him. 'I'll bring him his book.' You got up, picked up his book and went after Loki, who sat in the library.
You looked at Loki from around the corner and then approached him with a smile.
'Hey, Loki, you forgot your book back there,' you chirped. He rolled his eyes at you and snatched it out of your hands.
'Leave me alone,' he sneered and pushed you against the wall as he made his way out of the library. You coudn't help it, you were a little upset, but the way you saw him didn't change. You had a huge crush on this man and just coudn't be angry at him.
But as the months kept going, you noticed Loki got more distant and emotionless around you. You wondered what you could've done wrong, but nothing crossed your mind. Maybe he has just a bad day, you convinced yourself. You made your way to the gym, knowing Loki would be there.
You spotted him. Drenched in sweat and rubbing his face with a towel. He picked up his gym bag and took long strides towards the exit, where you blocked his way.
'Hey!' you said excitedly. He sighed.
'What do you want?' he asked you bitterly. You ignored that fact and concentrated at how you could see the muscles through his shirt.
'I have this amazing idea. There is a concert of the Arctic Monkeys and I have like two tickets. And Thor said me you liked that band as well, so maybe we could go together,' you proposed. He scoffed. He seemed to consider your offer for a few moments before he pushed you aside so you hit the doorpost. You gasped because it did hurt.
'That's the worst band in all the realms,' he lied. You frowned. 'And I'm not going with you.' Your heart stung at his words, but you remained positive. You would go and ask him what was wrong. This had been going on for months and you just wanted to be his best friend again. No, you actually wanted to be his girlfriend, but if being friendzoned meant you would be able to spend time with him, then so be it.
You decided you to make some tea. Two cups to be exact. One for yourself and one for Loki. You knew Loki would most likely be in the library. So, you headed there and indeed found the sexy God sitting on the couch, reading.
'Hey, Loki,' you said careful. His eyes snapped up at you and seemed to shot daggers at you.
'What?' he snapped. He raised himself from the couch and walked towards you in two steps. You gulped.
'I-I' you stuttered. He rolled his eyes before he glared at you again.
'Let's make this clear, you pathetic mortal. I know you like me. A lot, but I don't. I want you to disappear from my life and leave me alone. I despise you,' he spat in your face. Tears started to brim in your eyes. You swallowed the lump that seemed to be stuck in your throat as you looked down at your feet, your fluffy socks around them.
'I-' you cleared your throat. 'I came to bring you tea. I'll leave you alone now.' You handed him the tea, which he hesitantly took from you. You turned around, holding one hand in front of your mouth to hide the sobs, but he heard them. Loki felt guilty. He had made you cry.
As fast as you could, you ran to your room, leaving the tea on a bookshelf in the library. You let yourself fall on the bed and sobbed. Your crush had just been so cruel towards you. You even wondered why you even fell in love with him in the first place, but your brain easlily answered that question. He was smart, sweet when he wanted to be, and very handsome. He just was rude towards you, what was an indication that he didn't like you, not even as a friend. You wept until you had no tears left to cry. It must've been around five in the morning when you finally fell asleep.
When you woke up, you decided that it would be better if you just forget Loki and try to focus on other things, but only the thought of that made you cry again. You didn't leave your room for the first weeks, only to grab dinner, when you were sure the Avengers and Loki had finished their meals and weren't present in the kitchen anymore. And every night, you still cried yourself to sleep.
The months that followed went by as if you were high. It was if you were walking continuously around in a daze. You didn't cry anymore because you just felt empty. You didn't talk to anyone and isolated yourself from everyone in the Tower. Natasha had once tried to approach you, but you had just ignored you. The months had been lonely, but you were surviving. Large bags were formed under your eyes because of the lack of sleep you were getting. And because you weren't eating on a regular schedule, you were getting thinner. Your ring fell off your finger every five minutes so you decided to just don't wear it anymore. And your jeans were getting to big, only for you to wear oversized jumpers with just your knickers underneath it, and leaving your hair unbrushed.
You were on your way to the library. It was late in the afternoon and you had ran out of books to read in your room, so it was an emergency to visit the library. You opened the door and it closed behind you. You walked around for awhile before you spotted Loki, on the couch, looking up at him from his book. You froze and gazed at your feet. You would come back later. You turned around on your heels and started walking towards the exit.
'Y/N?' Loki called with a rushed voice. He got up and dropped his book, walking towards you and grabbing your wrist. He looked shocked at you once he realized how much weight you dropped.
'I am already going,' you whispered and tried to get free from his grasp. He looked worried about you. Loki gently pushed you against the bookshelf and observed every inch of your miserable looking body. 'Please don't,' you said, scared that he might yell at you again. You weren't sure he if you would survive something like that again. All he could do was look at you as you trembled under his fingers. Your bottom lip quivered and his heart ached at the sight of you looking like that. A small sob left your lips. 'Please,' you begged him to let you go to cry. You weren't ready to face him yet. He didn't listen and pulled you into a warm hug. As quietly as you could, you sobbed onto his shoulder.
'I'm so sorry,' he whispered near your ear. 'I'm sorry. Sorry. I'm so sorry,' he whispered over and over again. Once you were done crying he pulled away slightly, enough to study your face. His hand lifted to cup your cheek, while his other hand remained on your waist. His eyes searched your empty ones before he slowly leaned in. You looked away and stared at everything but him. He gently turned your head back to his. 'Can you forgive me? I can't bear to stand a live without you. I acted like a dickhead because... I love you,' he whispering his explanation against your forehead, his lips grazing against your forehead. Your heart fluttered at his words. Your eyes looked up in his eyes and he smiled a little. You let out a little sob before Loki connected his lips with yours. His lips moving against yours while he wiped the tears that streamed down your face away. He pulled you closer and held you tightly as if he was afraid that he would lose you if he'd ever let go of you.
You pulled apart and you gazed into his eyes for a second.
'I love you too, Loki,' you whisperd. He smiled. Then he picked you up, one hand under your knees and one hand around your waist. 'Where are we going?' you still whispered. He kissed the top of your head and stared down at you lovingly.
'I'm going to prepare a nice meal for you, darling,' he spoke against the top of your head. You smiled and kissed his chest, patting it and murmuring a 'thank you', but before you reached the kitchen you fell asleep in his warm embrace, knowing everything would be alright.
