Loki - A heart of glass
"We have an assignment for you little one," Tony said to you with a rough pat on the back. You pulled your eyebrows to your forehead, mouth open wide - with worry or astonishment, you weren't sure yet.
"What's it?" you asked. Just then, Thor walked into the kitchen.
"Point Break'll tell you," Stark assured. Thor chewed and swallowed the last bit of his Poptart, wiping his hands to his armour.
"We politely ask you to keep an eye on my little brother," Thor explained. "After what he'd done to New York, we don't trust him to be alone just yet." You shrugged, not really amazed by the fact you were their victim. After all, you were the newest Avenger and most of the time, you got the dirty babysitting jobs.
"Why not?" you reasoned.
He's hot.
But you weren't going to admit it aloud to any of them. They wouldn't approve for sure.
"He's still in a cell, so if he's annoying-"
"Yeah I know, I know," you interrupted Thor. "Where is he?" You weren't to disappointed with the assignment they gave you, quite the opposite, actually. A wide grin crawled on your face as your thoughrts wandered off to the God -where you would probably spend hours. You would get the chance to see his magnificent emerald eyes, his-
"Seventeenth floor," Stark interrupted your indecent thoughts. You snapped out of it and nodded, going off to your prisoner.
First, you gathered some supplies to keep you busy, if Loki would decide to give you the silent treatement he gave the others ever so often. But you would have fun. You considered just looking at his face as just pure, exciting fun.
The door to where Loki was kept opened and you stepped inside, putting your bag of supplies to the desk before you stared at the glass cage in the small room.
A raven-haired God stared at you from the minute you'd set foot in the room, his upper lip curled in disdain. He crossed his arms over his splendid chest, his armour tightening around him deliciously. You shook your head and hoped he couldn't read your mind, but since Tony put on those magic dampening cuffs, you guessed he couldn't.
"Hi, Loki," you chirped, turning towards him with a smile of excitement. He only rolled his eyes and turned on his heel, went to sit on the small cot and faced you again with a dull expression. "How are you today?"
He huffed, then looked straight into your eyes.
Your stomach twisted and you bit back a smile.
"I'm trapped in this fish bowl. What do you think?" he snarled. You could only think about how sexy that velvetty drawl sounded. Damn.
Shaking off those dirty thoughs, your hand dived in the bag and you took out some paint and some brushes.
That seemed to spike his interest, because he went to sit up a little straighter.
"I could escape right now," he bluffed. You knew he couldn't though. He had tried this with all of the Avengers before, so you wouldn't be fooled.
"You won't," you said back, getting closer to the glass wall and sitting down with your paint supplies. He frowed and slowly leaned forward, his arms on his knees as his lips curled into a sexy- menacing smirk.
"What makes you think that? What have I to fear?" he said in a silky drawl. His tongue darted out to wet his lips and it made your stomach jerk in response.
However, you a professional answer.
"Me."
He laughed, leaning back against the glass wall, some of his hair falling before his eyes. He stretched his long legs and put his hands behind his neck, lazily gazing at you.
You diped your brush in the paint and started to paint on the glass wall separating you.
"Are you even allowed to do that?" he asked you after you painted a heart.
"Probably not." He snickered.
"What's that?"
"A heart."
"Why?" he mocked, one of his eyebrows lifting in surprise. He found it rather silly for you to draw something so childish.
"Because it looks like you need some love," you muttered, maybe that was a hint, but maybe not.
Loki, I have a crush on you.
No. That sounded stupid. He would laugh in your face and you would end up hurt.
He laughed then, without mirth. There was bitterness attachted to that laugh and he stood up then, strolled over to the wall, dominating you with his height. It was meant to be intimidating, but you found yourself being turned on by that.
God, what was he doing to you. And he seemed unaware of it. He's so innocent. Beside the fact that he tried to take over your world. Okay, maybe not so innocent.
Cinnamon roll.
"There is little light in my life, little one. Most people don't see me, for that, they don't give me any love," he sneered, looking at you down his nose.
You shrugged.
"Then I'll draw you a sun too," you managed to say and put a bit of yellow paint on your brush. Loki's face softened then, and all that sorrow and anger left his features and to your surprise - he smiled.
He went back to sit on his little bed though and it was quiet for awhile.
"Why are you painting a rabbit?" he asked in a lazy tone. He was back at crossing his arms over his chest as he stood up, approaching the painting while he tilted his head slightly.
Your stilled your movements and cocked up an eyebrow at him.
"It's a cat,'" you stated.
He held his head more to the side and scowled at you so called cat. He brought one of his hands up to his face and rubbed his long fingers over the slight stubble on his chin.
His eyes slowly decended on you again. There was a long silence where you only gazed at each other before he spoke again:
"Oh, I see."
He cleared his throat.
"Yes, I'm so sorry dear. It's clearly a... cat." He eyed your painting again as you dabbed your paintbrush into some more paint. "Yes, it's obviously a cat." His eyes shot back to you. "Do cats on Midgard have... big ears?"
You frowned at him and he tried to hide the smile that was making its way up to his face.
"Can you do it better?" You didn't wait for an anwer as you shoved the paint and brushes through the small window, closing it soon after. He smirked and took your supplies.
"I'll try."
It had been several hours - and Loki's cat did look better than yours - as some kind of alarm went off.
Way to late, you realized it was the fire alarm. You shot up and Loki mirrored your movements, the paintbrushes now forgotten.
"What's that?" Loki inquired, looking around the room and flinching at the loud sound.
"There is a fire somewhere," you panicked. You ran over to the door, and your fears were confirmed. Stark Tower was all electricity - as Steve put it ever so often - and so the doors clicked into their locks automatically. "It will not open."
Then your smartphone went off and you picked up the call.
"Y/N, uhm, there is a fire," Starks voice ran through the phone.
"Really?" you sneered. "What am I supposed to do! I'm locked in here with Loki! We can't get out!"
"Hush, darling. Keep Loki in his cage. It will soon be fixed. Don't worry. You'll be safe." With that, he ended the phone call.
"What the fuck!" you shouted.
"What's wrong?" Loki questioned, eyeing everything around him.
"He says we're supposed to stay!" you bursted out.
"What?" Loki drawled. "I'm not staying now. Let me out." You nodded and ran towards the red button Stark explicitely told you not to press - so you slammed it.
But no matter how many times you knocked your palm on it, the door of the glass cage didn't open.
"Alright, sweetie, look at me," Loki snapped you out of your panicked haze. Your gaze shot up to him. "Do you have something sharp around here? A hammer? Perhaps a bat?"
"Thor kept a hammer under the desk," you muttered before sprinting to the desk and diving underneath it, tearing the hammer from underneath it and got back up.
"Okay, now, focus on me, darling," Loki said once you were in front of the glass separtating you. "I want you to put all your strenght into it and slam that thing onto the glass until it breaks." You nodded. "On three. One, two-"
You swung the hammer onto the glass, but there was just a creak.
"Where did you learn to count?" Loki retorted, rolling his eyes. "Harder." You did it again and again, until there was a little hole.
"Give it to me," Loki said, his hand digging though the hole. You put the hammer in his hand in he shattered the glass in no time.
He was out and stood before you, tugging at his magic dampening cuffs with frustration.
"I can't fucking teleport," he growled and then there was an explosion near the fuse to your left and fire gathered and quickly spread across the room. He ran towards the window.
"Are you leaving me here?" you shouted over the flames. His one leg was already swung out of the window and he gestured for you to come closer.
"Not if you come here right know." You whimpered as the fire raged through the little room. You started to cough when you reached the window and suddenly everything happened in a haze.
Loki took you by your waist.
"Don't let go of me," he warned as your were hanging out of the window, on the seventeenth floor of Stark Tower. He kicked his heavy Asgardian boots against the window below and the glass shattered.
"Trust me?" he asked, his face inches from yours. Swallowing the cough that made its way up your throat, you nodded.
He let you go.
Caught your hand in time and swung you through the window before following suit. He crashed onto you, but shifted to his feet, quickly hauling you up before running down the stairs and making your way out of the Tower.
Breath ragged, you reached the exit.
Tony had his phone to his ear and lowered it when he saw you.
"Y/N!" he called, a sigh of relief left his lips. "I've been trying to call you. I'm so sorry." He then spotted the God. And the Avengers soon all approached you, their weapons at the ready to fire at Loki.
You reacted quickly and threw yourself in front of him.
"No," you stated, arms shielding him from their view. Or most of him. Okay, not much. "He saved me."
"He saved you?" Thor inquired, gesturing from Loki to you.
"Actually, brother, she saved me first, by breaking into my cage. Then I saved her ass by throwing her out of the window,' Loki said lowly, jaw tightening with each word.
"You threw her out of a window?" Tony shouted.
"It was better than he discribes it," you muttered. "He really meant no harm. And here we are. Alive, no thanks to you."
"Sorry," Tony muttered. You smiled at him.
"Hey, it's okay. We're alright," you soothed.
A pair of arms wrapped around you from behind and a God placed his head on top of yours.
"Does that mean I am to be trusted? I mean, I did save one of your precious Avengers. I think I'm very trustable," Loki said, and you could picture the smug grin on his face. Thor frowned at his brother, but Natasha spoke up.
"I think he proved himself to be loyal. Welcome to the team, lackey," she said.
"It's Loki," he growled, his grip around you tightening, but you found yourself loving it. In fact, it brought some of the dirty thoughts you had earlier back.
"Stark?" Thor then asked.
"Mhm?" Tony murmered, looking at his Tower with tears in his eyes. The poor man.
"Do you have another house where we could stay until you... rebuild the Tower."
You laid in bed, the cover around your body and you were slowly dozing off. You were indeed in one of Stark's many other houses.
You jerked up when the door of your room closed with a loud clack. You smiled to yourself when a dark, familliar silhouette appeared next to the bed.
He just stood there for awhile, Loki, gazing down at you.
He was swift in his next movements when he sat down at your side. Then again, time past where you only stared at each other. He leaned in, slowly this time. And his face was getting closer and closer to yours. You forgot how to breathe in that moment. Your nails dug into the bedsheets in anticipation.
Your eyes closed on their own accord and you took a sharp inhale of breath. The weight of a hand slid over your leg and rested next to your hip. Cold fingertips touched your jaw and grazed your cheek.
You moistened your lips and then it happened. His lips crashed on yours. Hands flew in your hair and pulled you closer. Hungryly, he devoured your mouth with a passion which made you lightheaded. He briskly pushed you into the mattress.
You moaned into the kiss, all those thoughts released at once and it was too much to bear when his tongue slipped past your lips. His hands roamed through your hair. Yours slid around his neck.
You pulled apart for breath. His breath upon your face made your head swin and revel in the aftermath of the heavenly kiss.
"You were right," Loki whispered. His index finger traced your nose, then your lips.
"What do you mean?" you asked, taking his hand and placing kisses on the inside of his wrist. You waited so long to kiss him, anywhere.
He pulled away and his hands slid in his trouser. No, not in that way. You are so dirty-minded.
He presented you a piece of glass.
And it took you a moment to realize it was a part of your painting on his cell.
The heart.
"I need someone who can love me," he whispered, leaning in so his lips were touching yours.
"I already love you, Loki," you whispered back against his lips. He smiled and kissed you again.
Due to fatigue and school I wasn't able to write a lot. My health is not on point as well. The last month has been rough for me. I'm going to write as much as possible during the holidays.
I hope you enjoyed this oneshot. Please don't forget to vote.
Have a nice day and if it's night, please go to sleep. You really need it.
Love you, always
xx
