Cookies
It was almost Christmas! And you were so excited about it. You had already decorated the Christmas tree and lightened up the whole Stark Tower with Tony. He was just a child, like you. You got excited by anything that had candles and lights. In short: you fucking loved Christmas.
You had a whole playlist devoted to the event. Now, it was playing in the living room. Tony and you had forced the whole team, including Thor and Loki, to gather. Tony had lied, he had said it was to discuss a mission. Everyone was sitting on the couches in front of the fireplace.
'Okay,' Tony said. 'The mission...' He cleared his throat and looked at you. You rolled your eyes, but then grinned at the Avengers.
'She looks way to happy to be talking about a mission,' Clint mumbled.
'It's not just a mission, Clint,' you squeaked. 'It's a Christmas mission!' Thor clapped his hands enthusiastically.
'Yes!' he boomed. 'Can I join you?'
'Everyone will be joining,' Tony said with a smirk at the groaning Avengers. He took a had from the coffee table and pointed at a memory game. 'Pick one memory card. That will be your mission. And in the hat is the name of your parter. Anyone wants to go first?'
'Me!' Thor cried out. Tony laughed and held out the hat while Thor rumbled around in the hat. HE read the name on the little piece of paper. 'Peter Parker!' Peter cheered and got up from the couch to grab a memory card. It went on like that for awhile.
'I'm not participating,' Loki said grumpily as tony offered him one of the last names in the hat.
'You have to. Come on Reindeer Games,' he soothed. He threw the hat on the God's lap. Loki huffed and took a name.
'Y/N,' he said, then sighed. 'Really? Her?' Thor gasped. You coundn't deny that those two words had hurt you a little. It made you feel a light squeeze around your heart.
'Brother! It's Christmas! Be nice,' Thor whisperd angrily against his brother. Loki rolled his eyes.
'Well...' you mumbled, a little embaressed. 'Then I'll guess I pick a memory card,' said, a bit of your enthusiasm fading. You flipped a card over and smiled.
'What is it?' Loki dully asked you.
'We have to bake cookies!' you squeaked. 'This is the best mission be could've get! I bet you'll love it! Come on everyone! Get to work! Make this Christmas unforgettable!' They all went on their mission.
You grabbed Loki's wrist and dragged him with you to the kitchen. He sighed once he saw all the flour, sugar and chocolate on the counter. He went to flick his wrist, but you caught it.
'No magic,' you said sternly. 'We'll do this together. Okidoki?' He rolled his eyes and mumbled something insulting.
'Sure.'
'Good.' You handed him an apron and put one on yourself before you tied your hair in a ponytail. You saw that Loki wasn't doing anything, so yu took his apron and forced him into it.
'Let me go. I look ridiculous in it.' You got the apron on his eventually and smiled at your accomplishment.
'You still have to tie your hair,' you spoke.
'No, I already told you. I refuse to participate.' He went to sit on the kitchen table and grabbed a book. Okay, that stung.
'But-'
'No.' Your face dropped. You didn't say antoher word to him as you just started making the cookies. Okay... what were you supposed to do now? First the flour and sugar? Then the eggs?
Once you took a closer look at the recipe, you started making it. You spilled flour all over the kitchen counter and were now putting everything together.
The cookies still needed soem chocolate in them so you tried to reavh the cupboard, but as it was too high. You cleared your throat and Loki looked up with a raised eyebrow.
'What?' he snarled.
'Can you get me those?' You pointed at the chocolate that was just out of reach. An amusing smile tugged at his lips before he looked down at his book again.
'No.'
'But-'
'What do you not understand about no?' he hissed. You bit your lip as you nodded. You stared out of the window and saw Thor and Peter laughing while decorating Tony's lab. You gazed at your feet. Why couldn't you just have a nice partner? He was ruining you're whole Christmas mood. You shook your head and grabbed a chair.
Now you could reach the chocolate and you put it in the cookie dough. You dipped your finger in to taste it and grinned. It was so good! Although you instructed yourself not to eat to much. The last time you did, your stomach was upset about that...
'Why did you ask me if you could reach it yourself?' Loki asked rhetorically. He huffed. 'Mewling quim,' he whispered to himself. He must've thought that you couldn't hear him. An invisible hand squeezed your heart. There your were, tears in your eyes, blinking to not let them go.
You stood frozen on the spot for awhile. That's when Loki looked at you again, and his smirk faded as he saw your waterfilled eyes. You swallowed and turned away from him to add the last ingredients to your cookie dough.
Once you were at the stirring part, you arms grew tired instantly. And the fact that you din't have any muscles at all didn't help either.
A hand with a rolled up sleeve grabbed the wooden spoon from yours and stirred for you. Another arm snaked around your wrist and pulled you close. You were surprised to see it was Loki who looked at you apologetically.
'I'm sorry,' he whispered as he kissed your nose. You heart fluttered. He let his head lay on top of yours while stroking your back.
'It's fine,' you said with a hint of a smile. 'It's Christmas.' He laughed breathlessly.
'Yes. Yes it is,' he hummed. You went to heat the oven. Then rolled the cookies, put them on a plate and placed them in the oven.
Loki leaned against the counter, his arms crossed over his chest with a smile on his face. You smiled as well. You giggled.
'I infected you with the Christmas virus,' you laughed. He rolled his eyes playfully.
'What do we have to do now?' You looked around. No one had returned yet.
'Well, the others aren't back, so we could look under the Christmas tree and search for our presents,' you whispered near his ear. You were almost running away from him, but he grabbed the back from your sweater and you bounced back against his chest. 'Hey!' you protested.
'No, you are not going to do that. I bought you a present so don't you dare to spoil the surprise.'
'You bough me a present? I thought you didn't participate at Secret Santa?' you inquired. His hands rested on your hips, but you didn't mind at all.
'I don't. I just wanted to buy you something,' he muttered against your head.
'Good, because I bought you a present as well.' He froze behind you.
'Let's look for our presents under the Christmas tree!' He let go of you and looked back with a smirk. 'Last one by the Christmas tree has to kiss the other!'
