#3 Perfect
I know. I'm a horrible person. But I'm cut me some slack, okay because the internet's so freakin' slow... Anyways, hope you guys like this chapter!
It was a joyous day for the citizens of Asgard as well as those of all the nine realms. After all, it was the Crown Prince Thor's wedding to the love of his life, astrophysicist Jane Foster. The palace was decorated in vibrant hues of red, the signature color of the mighty thunder god.
There were a couple of Midgardians also, Jane's friends and relatives and the Avengers included. Certain members of shield were also invited. Needless to say, the Asgardians were surprised by the vast knowledge of these mortals.
Much to everyone's surprise, Thor's best man was none other than the Fallen Prince, Loki. What proved to be more shocking was the fact that Jane's five- year old niece, Lilith, was the maid of honor. While Loki was known for his mischief and tricks, Lilith (contrary to her name) was an innocent and shy soul.
"Brother, come meet this wonderful young lady", Thor said loudly, making the little girl hide behind Jane.
"She's my niece", Jane clarified, pulling the girl forward.
Loki raised a brow as he peered down at Lilith. Lilith peeked up at the 6'1 god, noticing his stare. Blushing, she looked down and hugged Jane's legs.
"Come on, introduce yourself", Jane whispered to her niece.
"Hi", she said in the sweetest voice Loki had ever heard. "I'm Lilith. I'm the maid of honor."
Loki couldn't help but smile at the little girl, astonishing both Thor and Jane. He knelt in front of her, taking her hand and placing a kiss on it.
"It is my pleasure to meet you, good Lady Lilith."
Lilith awkwardly bowed, not knowing what to do.
"Er... me too?"
Loki smirked at her, making her cower slightly.
"Stop scaring her, brother", Thor joked as he patted (more like hit) Loki's shoulder. "Now follow me, we have much to do."
The brothers walked away, leaving Jane with her cousin. Lilith looked up at her aunt, giving her one of her rare, cheeky smiles.
"I like him."
The marriage ceremony passed without any obstacles. It was grand, just like what Thor wanted, and sweet, just like what Jane had imagined. As Lilith watched her aunt and soon to be uncle say their vows, tears sprung into her eyes. As a five year old, she didn't entirely understand the meaning of love. But she was smart, smarter than many kids of her age, and she knew that what Thor and Jane had was something pure, magical, special, and beyond words. She could only hope that someday, she would find someone who will look at her, just as Thor looked at Jane.
The wedding reception also passed without any hurdles. Many pictures were taken by Lilith, who ran around, surprising many Asgardians with the flash the camera produced. Loki never spoke to Lilith after that one time. He smirked at the curious flash- producing device for a couple of pictures, but that was it. This made Lilith sad, for reasons unknown. But she smiled shyly the whole time, masking her feelings. She would not let the Trickster God dampen her spirits, at least not on her aunt's wedding day.
When it was time to leave, the little girl cried. This led to Jane crying, and soon all the women were weeping. Loki couldn't help but scoff.
"Sentiment", he muttered, making Lilith's parents glare at him. He glared back.
*** *** *** ***
Years had passed since the wedding. Jane was now immortal, and lived a happy life with Thor. Loki had not given up his playboy ways, and still slept with any and every woman. Now that the crown prince was spoken for, the next best option to enter the royal family and gain wealth, respect, and power was the Trickster God. Loki knew that; it made him feel bitter and resentful, but no matter. All he wanted was to vent out his feelings and need for dominance. And what better way to do that than by sleeping with women?
It was around this time that Jane received shocking news. Her cousin and her sister-in- law had passed away in a car accident. Little Lilith was now an orphan. Jane spent days in her room, weeping for her loved ones, with Thor desperately trying to comfort her, leading to him abandoning all his princely duties.
The Allfather never reprimanded his son. After all, love, more often than not, makes one reckless. He was, however, upset with Loki's behavior. This made Loki more bitter, and he became more rebellious. It seemed to be a dark time for the house of Odin. And through this dark turn of events, emerged a little bundle of light.
Jane had arranged for Lilith to stay with Eric Selvig and Darcy Lewis during the weekdays, and with her, in Asgard, during weekends and other holidays. Thor, who had insisted upon doing his bit, had arranged for her to spend some time with the Avengers. Lilith had immediately become their favorite, but that is a story for another time.
When Lilith returned to Asgard, she was a changed person. She wasn't the shy, sweet, and innocent little girl Jane remembered anymore, she was now an independent, strong, and smart 12 year old. Her aversion to people in general had persisted, but if need be, she could defend herself, courtesy of spending time with the Earth's mightiest heroes.
The moment Loki and Lilith met (again), they clashed. Even the smallest thing would set them off, and they would have an intense argument. It all started when Loki was going back to his chambers. He was in one of his 'moods', so when he bumped into Lilith, he was extremely rude.
"Watch it you dull creature!" He had yelled. Lilith stared at him.
"Loki?"
Said man glared at her. "I am a god you pathetic mortal, as well as a prince. Did your parents not tell you, you must always respect your superiors."
Lilith stiffened at the mention of her parents.
"Are you referring to yourself, Prince Loki," She said mockingly.
Now it was Loki's turn to stiffen.
And that was how their rivalry began.
Years passed, and Loki became worse in his ways. He was more of a playboy than Fandral, which is really saying something. Meanwhile, Lilith, true to her name, became more sly and cunning. She was more snarky, and seemed to be over confident to those who knew her. But these were the walls she had built around herself; to protect herself. On the inside, she was still the same childish, innocent little girl who was shy and feared being rejected; being judged.
She was sick and tired of picking fights with the emerald eyed god. She was sick and tired of arguing with him over pointless matters. Because over the years, after all those fights, Lilith Milada Foster had fallen in love with Loki. Lilith was unusually witty and bright for her age. She craved knowledge; she craved intellectual conversations. And she knew, in her heart, that Loki was capable of providing her with all of that.
Sure, Lilith had Uncle Stark and Uncle Banner to talk to about machines and new inventions, she had Uncle Clint and Aunt Tasha to talk to about weapons and interrogations, she had Uncle Thor to discuss myths with, she had Uncle Steve to discuss war strategies and history with, she had Grandpa Eric and Aunt Jane to talk to about astrophysics, and Aunt Darcy to have snarky and witty conversations with, but the eighteen year old wanted more.
She wanted someone who would listen to her passionate rants patiently while looking at her lovingly. She wanted someone with whom she could have fierce arguments, only to have him kiss her to shut her up. She wanted someone who would hold her close, to comfort her when things didn't work out according to her plans. She wanted someone who would carry her to bed after she fell asleep on her notes; someone who would tell her to stop obsessing over an idea, and would sternly yet lovingly order her to rest. She wanted someone who would willingly sit with her in the library, by the fireplace as she read a book, giving her adoring and loving looks.
And most of all, she wanted someone who would never let her go; someone whose kisses were filled with raw passion and love; someone who would support her no matter what. She wanted someone who would dominate her, but at the same time respect her and her decisions.
And in the deepest, darkest, pit of her heart, Lilith wanted that person to be Loki.
*** *** *** ***
Lilith sat in the balcony of her room, wearing an over sized shirt and a pair of cycling shorts, taking large gulps of mead, attempting to drink away her sorrows. She had walked in on Loki and some s**t. And like every other time, it hurt. It hurt like hell.
Lilith knew that her mortal body could not handle large amounts of godly wine; it would be fatal for her. She could die from alcohol poisoning. But Lilith barely cared for herself now. Nothing really mattered, apart from forgetting.
Pouting slightly when the mead was over, she stumbled down the halls of the palace for more. The hallways were dark, and the only sound was the loud pitter- patter of raindrops. Everyone was asleep. Well, almost everyone.
Loki knew the door of the b***h's chamber was open. He also knew that anyone could see what was going on; all they needed to do was peek. But he didn't really care. At least, not until her heard a soft gasp and familiar sound of footsteps; which he always associated with Lilith.
Lilith. Oh what that girl had done to him. He still remembered, how all those years back, she had first looked at him with those sparkling and soulful little eyes of hers, before blushing rose red and looking at the ground. Loki had felt ashamed; ashamed to have feelings for a child. He wanted to forget her. He needed to forget her.
But then her parents died. And she started to stay at the palace. Loki suppressed his feelings. He slept with women, used them, and did what not to forget her. And now, by Asgardian terms, she was of marriageable age, and Loki was ashamed of himself, again. How could someone so beautiful, so perfect, so pure, ever love a monster; a frost giant like him? So he continued doing what he had been doing for all those years.
Loki didn't really care if anyone saw him doing the deed. But that was till Lilith saw. He pushed himself off the bed, putting on his clothes and walking out, ignoring the calls of that desperate w***e.
He roamed the hallways in search of the girl of his dreams, until he found her, standing in the rain, alone, shivering and swaying from what he noted to be the effect of mead. Loki's concern for the girl rose.
"Why are you here?" Lilith asked in a small voice, not bothering to look back.
She knew it was Loki, how could she not? She had spent all her free time in Asgard memorizing every single detail about him.
"Have you come to gloat", she snapped, hiccuping slightly. "To mock? To laugh at how my pathetic I am?"
Loki took a step forward, into the rain. He shuddered slightly, trying to prevent his Jotunn form from being seen.
"That is not my intention", he whispered softly. "It never was... Lilith."
Lilith shuddered. After nine long years, he had finally said her name. She stood straight, and whirled around almost falling down face first. Loki's hand immediately shot forth to stabilize her. She swatted his hand away, swaying because of the mead and the harsh winds.
"You are drunk", Loki said softly, as if he were speaking to a child. "You will fall sick, lest you let me take you in."
Lilith let out a maniacal laugh.
"Why do you care anyways? Why don't you go and enjoy with that b***h?"
Loki stared at her. He had never heard her cuss. And he had to admit it, it was hot. He gulped slightly.
"Such words do not suit you."
"Don't speak to me as though I am a child!" Lilith yelled. "I am an eighteen year old and I will say whatever the f**k I want!"
Loki gritted his teeth.
"I said stop using such-"
"Stop. Treating. Me. Like. A. CHILD!" She yelled.
Loki's eyes flashed with something unrecognizable as he took a step forward, bending so that he was face to face with Lilith.
"Listen, child. You will respect your prince."
Lilith let out another humorless, empty laugh.
"Ok, so I am a child, because I'm a virgin? Or is it because I haven't had my first kiss yet?"
Loki's eyes widened at that, but Lilith continued with her rant.
"Or maybe it's the fact that my boobs aren't big enough, or is it because I'm fat?"
"Shut up", Loki hissed.
Lilith took a step forward. "Make me."
Loki's jaw clenched as he stood straight and looked away. Lilith took a step back, her bottom lip trembling as a single tear slipped down her cheek, mixing with the raindrops. Both were drenched head to toe, and the fact that Lilith's clothes were sticking to her body was not helping Loki. At all.
"Just... get out of my sight." Loki hissed, keeping his gaze averted.
"... What?" Lilith chocked out. Loki immediately looked at her. Lilith looked as though she would start crying any moment. And it broke Loki's heart to think that a strong and independent girl such as her was almost in tears, because of him.
"Just go! Why must you follow me like a lost puppy?" Loki said, his heart breaking with every word. 'She hates you, she hates you'; he chanted to himself.
"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!" Lilith yelled out. Loki froze.
"I have been in love with you ever since I first figured out the meaning of 'love'. All this time, whenever I fought with you, I did so with a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe my feelings will be reciprocated. Now, that hope's lost. You don't love me; never have and never will, and I- I get that. There are so many women out there who are beautiful, and gentle, and feminine, and I'm just... me. Crazy, stupid me who is weird and... not feminine."
Silence.
Loki stood, frozen with shock. 'She loves me...' was all he could think at that point of time. Was it some sort of sick joke? Was he finally loosing it? Loki, for the first time in his whole life, was rendered speechless. The fact that she thought low of herself was not ignored by Loki. He would have words with her on that topic later.
"I... oh my god", Lilith said, slapping her hand over her mouth. "I- I shouldn't have- I'm so sorry- I'll just... oh my god.... I'll just, you know...go."
And with that, Lilith all but fled. A small sob escaped her lips, snapping Loki out of his trance. He ran after the girl- no, woman, and caught her by the arm, pulling her into his chest as he kissed her.
Lilith's hands immediately found shelter in Loki's soaked, black hair, while the Silvertongue's hands caught hold of her curvy waist. Loki poured in all his feelings into the kiss, as did Lilith. The air around them was thick with their passion and love, and the two souls kissed sensually in the rain, with the hidden moon and stars as testimony to their eternal, undying love.
It was the best first kiss Lilith could ever ask for. It was perfect. He was perfect.
"I love you, Milada", Loki whispered against her lips. Lilith's eyes watered.
"And I you, my love."
So.... I'm awkward with kissing scenes, nothing new with that :) Btw Lilith is a Storm goddess, and a night monster. She's basically associated with the word cunning. so yeah... and Milada means my love... see what I did there ;) Anyhow, vote and comment!
All the love,
Kit_Kat
