Bloopers

Hey! :3

Here are some bits of LAI that have been cut from the book, didn't quite make it, or made just for fun. I dunno, read this while you wait for mah announcement. Trololol.

1. First meeting Coral.

Coral was originally meant to meet Rosie when she came back from the Wonderbolts race way back. Soo here's the thing. It happened right after Rosie raced the Wonderbolts. She was also supposed to win on her own, but I decided to change that, too. Enjoy!

~le mid chapter~

I walk tiredly by Zoe. "Oh my gosh, you were SO cool! It's actually so amazing, you actually won!" She rambles.

"No, I didn't," I hiss, "If I wasn't so tired, Zoe, I swear I would kill you," I growl. That shuts her up.

Suddenly, I feel a small tug on my tail. I stop and turn around to see a little, cordial green pegasus filly with the curliest, most out of control deep blue mane I've ever seen. But the thing that I notice most are the large, wet, purple eyes she has. I'd've mistaken them for gems if I didn't know any better. She smiles at me nervously, playing with her hooves. "Um... excuse me, miss," she mumbles.

"Hi," I smile, "Are you lost?"

She shakes her head. "No, no. It's just... just... I saw you flying," she looks up at me.

I break into a cold sweat, blushing. "Yeah... what about it?" I mutter.

"Well... you're really good! It's amazing what you did, you beat all those Wonderbolts, even Soarin!" She squeals. "He's my favourite."

"Really? Mine, too!" I smile, "And thanks, but I'm sure there are better flyers than me," I sigh, referring to Rainbow Dash. But of course, she wouldn't know.

"Pfft, nah!" She cries, "That's why... I was wondering... if... maybe... you could teach me your stuff? Or at least how to fly?"

I consider this for a second. Do I really have time to mentor a kid? Well, yeah. But am I really responsible enough to mentor a kid? No, probably not.

•••

Sooo there's that.

*clears throat*

NEXT.

2. Hearts and Hooves Day.

One idea for a cute Roki moment for Hearts and Hooves Day was that Loki and Rosie'd spend the whole day together. But I thought the one I went with was cuter.

Also, Rosie comes off as a bit desparate in this, so I scrapped it.

I trot sadly into Loki's room, staring at the ground with my ears drooped. "Hey," I say blankly, doing a saddened sigh, blowing the hair out of my eyes. I slam my butt on the floor, slouching as I sit in front of the glass.

"Hello," Loki half smiles, putting his book down. He trots up to me, getting as close as he can. His face falls as he sits down, noticing my expression, "Why so glum?"

I sigh again, "Guess what today is?"

"Most of the time, I have no clue what time, month or year it is," he replies almost robotically.

I raise an eyebrow, staring up at him through my eyelashes. I shake my head, "No, today is Heart's and Hooves Day."

"Oh," I almost see a blush creep across Loki's face, but it must have been a trick of the eye, "Well... I'm not... particularly busy with that."

"Well, I am! Or, well, I was," I reply quickly, "Gah, I don't know! I don't know anymore, okay?"

"What do you mean?" Loki asks, cocking his head to the side.

"I mean, I'm alone on Hearts and Hooves Day!" I cry, throwing my hooves up in the air, "I've got no date, no nothing!"

"Wait, that means you have something, doesn't it?" Loki taps his chin.

"Urgh, you wouldn't understand," I fold my hooves, turning my back to him.

"Tell me, what wouldn't I understand?"

"Don't you see? It's Hearts and Hooves Day!" I turn to him. He blinks. I growl, "I'm supposed to have a date for today, somepony I love who loves me too, and we're supposed to spoil each other with presents!"

"Eheh... I only have a few books and a pillow," Loki grins at me, "Nothing much to give. Or spoil with, for that matter."

"At least you have an excuse for why you don't have a special somepony," I say, "I mean, no offence, but you're locked in a cell, you don't have to do Hearts and Hooves Day."

"Why don't you celebrate it with Zoe?" He suggests.

"Because... she's celebrating it with that Matthew guy. I have no idea what they're doing, but it's probably having fun," I do another hopeless sigh.

"Well... do you want to spend the day with me?" Loki asks. I raise my eyebrows at him, but he says something before I can start, "On a totally friend-related note."

Something inside of me goes all warm and fuzzy, making me smile. Loki wants to hang out with me? Awesome!

"Why not?" I smile, "What d'you wanna do?"

•••

Ehhhhehehehhehehe
What indeed...

3. After the Sleepover

Soooo this was supposed to happen after the Avenger's sleepover. But then it didn't. Heheheh.
I miss it, though.

After I take yet another shower to get the kitty litter and chocolate icing out of my mane, I let the others use the bathroom to clean up. Boy, are they pissed off!

Loki's prank was awesome! And... somewhat clever. I mean, how'd they get around me when I woke up? Meh.

Loki sits on the bed with his hooves tucked under himself, reading a book propped up on a pillow. Zoe licks some whipped cream off her hoof and styles her mane in the mirror while the Avengers are in the bathroom, arguing over who should use the soap first. Not that they could pick it up at all, anyway, hehe.

Zoe helped me clean up the mess earlier, so now it's around 11:00, and I'm doing random laps around my room because-

"I'M BORRRREEEEEEED!" I groan to the high heavens.

Loki sends me a ticked glance and sighs through his nose. "No one cares, Rosie," Zoe says nonchalantly, tying her mane up into a low ponytail and then pulling it out.

I flap down to the bed, landing on the side farthest away from Loki. I steal a glance from him and slowly shuffle next to him, trying not to make it look too obvious. But whenever you move in this bed, all of Canterlot feels it.

Which reminds me of last night...

I mean, I want to talk about what Loki did with me, but I'm not even sure that actually happened, anyways! It sure was nice, though...

Wait. No. No, it wasn't. Because it was probably just a dream. Yes. Yes, it was a dream. A darn amazing dream. But still. Too good to be true.

I stare at the jumble of letters in the book. I stare at them for a long time, thinking that I can almost decode the first word, when Loki flips the page with his snout, reading the other side. "Oh..." I mumble in disappointment, "Uh..."

"Were you trying to read that?" Loki looks at me. I squee and nod, embarrassed. I mean, everypony I know can read except me... it just makes me feel so stupid.

"Sorry," I mutter, standing up to fly off, but Loki grabs my hoof.

"Wait," he says quickly, before I can do anything. "Do... do you want to know how?"

"To read?" I raise an eyebrow suspiciously. He only nods willingly. "Alright," I sigh, "But I'm stupidly unteachable."

"Eheh," he chuckles, "I've seen worse."

I poke my tongue out playfully, and we both laugh quietly. "Okaaaay... so what does..." I wave a hoof over the book page, then land it on a random word in the centre, "That word say?"

"Sunglasses," Loki grins.

"Uhuh. Okay. Sunglasses. Got it. And that one?" I inquire, pointing to the one next to it.

"On," he half 'ehehe's.

"Sunglasses on. Righteo, so far so good," I mutter, "What's that dot mean?"

"That's a full stop. It ends a sentence," Loki replies.

"Ah, okay..." I stare at Loki nervously, then sigh, "Sorry... I'm stupid..." I leap up again.

"Don't be foolish, you've only found two words," Loki says, half rolling his eyes.

"But I-"

He looks me right in the eye, "Rose, you are not. Stupid."

I swallow, staring nervously back at him. I purse my lips into a smile, my blue eyes glazing over with tears.

It just makes me so happy to hear someone say that... to hear Loki say that...

"Otp, otp, otp!" Zoe prances past us. We both ignore her.

I bite my lip and sit down. "Alright, I'm convinced," I sigh, wiping my eyes.

"Okay... so maybe we can start off with some words that you already know of," Loki suggests.

"Okay, so... t-twoe?"

"Two."

"Right, right, I knew that."

"Eheh," he smiles.

"Well, if you two love birds aren't busy," A voice sighs behind us.

We snap our heads around towards Tony, who's standing in front of the other tired Avengers.

"We are not dating."

"I am not courting her."

We both say in unison.

"Whatever," Tony mutters, "Look, we'd like to be human again. And we'd also like to go home."

"Uh... yeah, sure. Zoe!" I call.

Suddenly, Zoe bursts in through the doors.

•••

Dun dun duuuuun.

This almost made it, but it felt kinda awkward, and a sort of a drag.

4. Rosie's Origin

The whole backstory was supposed to be told verbally by Rosie, but I decided to make them flashbacks instead, 'cuz it was less confusing.

So I had some royal guards fly me up there. I was so proud of my little self, with my saddle bags on my back and my mane brushed and neat with the help of Twilight that morning. It took some getting used to with walking on the clouds, but it was cool, I learned quickly.
As I walked through those school gates, I was petrified! I was starting school two years earlier than the other fillies, and I'd never been anywhere where I didn't know at least one pony before. I was nervous of what the other pegasi would think of me.

"I saw two foals that looked to be in my year flying around in the school yard, chasing each other. One was a white colt with a brown, spiky mane, the other was a blue filly with a messy, rainbow coloured mane. The filly was a super fast flyer, and they looked so awesome... I just had to be in their group! So, I went up to them.
I said, 'Hi! I'm Rosie, I'm new here!'
But they were too busy flying in the sky to notice me staring up at them in the clouds. So I called, 'Hey! Heyyyy!' I waved my hooves frantically.

"Eventually, they both stopped, hovering in mid air and staring down at me, unamused. "Sup?" The rainbow pegaus nodded at me.
'I... I was wondering if you wanted to be friends?' I asked in my squeaky lil' baby me voice. The filly squinted at me suspiciously.
'I dunno,' she looked to her friend, 'How come we never seen you around here before?'

"'Well, I-I'm new here,' I answered.
'I guess,' the colt shrugged, 'We're training to be the next generation of Wonderbolts!'
'I dunno, Strike,' the blue filly said to him, 'We do need a Fleetfoot. Alright, newbie!' She looked at me, 'Let's see what you got.'

"Of course, I had no idea what they were talking about," I sigh.

"I can't believe you're impersonating them," Loki states, "You're even impersonating your younger self. Also, how does this have anything to do with Zoe?"

I shove my hoof into his mouth, "SHHHH! I'm getting to that!"

He rolls his eyes and lightly pulls my hoof away, "Don't ever do that again," he says, "Now, are you going to continue or not?"

"Alright, alright," I half growl, "I'm trying to make it more dramatic... anywho...

"I didn't know what they meant by 'what I got', so I reached into my little backpack saddlebags and pulled out my peanut butter and chocolate pudding sandwich. 'I have this,' I said.
It was dripping with pudding," I notice Loki lick his lips, "I was a weird kid, heheh... anyway, they looked at me and the rainbow filly shook her head and said, 'No, we're talking about your flying skills!'
'Oh...' I say, glancing at my wings. Back then, they were even smaller than now. That was the first time I ever noticed how small they were, so I said, 'I don't know.'

"The filly just rolled her eyes, 'What, you mean you can't fly?'
I pulled a scrunchy face, 'I don't know... I never tried...'
'What!?' She snickered at me. I looked down self consciously.
'W-well... I could try,' I defended myself, assuming that flying couldn't be that hard.

5. Coral - Alternate Ending

Rosie was originally going to give Coral a small little speech and stuff at the end, but I thought she was being a bit too close and philosophical, so it was cut. Shout 'derp' whenever you spy a Hiddleston quote!

I give her a concerned look. Pulling off my bow tie, I sit next to her, wrapping a small wing of my own around her, pulling the little filly closer.

"C, look," I abbreviate her name, "I know first hoof about what it's like to have small wings."

"Yeah," she retorts grumpily, "But you don't know what it's like to be teased and taunted about it. Kimmy calls me chicken!"

I breathe a small giggle, "A Pegasus named Rainbow Dash used to call me that."

"You?"

I nod, "I had wings even smaller than yours when I was your age," I explain, "I couldn't even lift myself off the ground. Nopony believed I could fly- but look at me now."

"Wh-well... what if my wings never grow? Will I just be a loner blank flank chicken forever?"

I shake my head, "You won't be the only one," I lift my tail to reveal no cutie mark. "But just because ponies can treat you badly... like dirt... call you mean names... it doesn't mean you are those things."

"So..." Coral glances up at me, her purple eyes full of hope, "So why do they say the things they say? Do the things they do?"

"Coral, in life, when ponies don't like themselves very much, they have to make up for it. They might be angry at someone, something, heck, even themselves. It's your choice on who and what you want to be, nopony can stop you from doing that. Everything's a choice. Nopony is born good. Nopony is born evil. There is always a choice," I say, "Granted, at times, it may feel like they have dragged you down. And sometimes, they will knock you out of the sky. It's your choice on whether you let yourself hurt on the ground, or pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again."

She blinks. "Uh..."

I roll my eyes, "Kimmy's a feather brain."

Coral rests her head on my shoulder, making a small, "hm" noise, taking my words into consideration. "But... I can't fly...."

"Kid, never, ever let anyone tell you what you can and can't do. Prove that nasty piece of work, Kimmy, wrong. I feel sorry for her, she has no imagination. The sky's the limit. Your sky. Your limit. Now, let's bail this ballsy party."

6. The Ditched Chapter

So this was the beginning of a cute moment where Rosie hears Loki crying and goes in to comfort him, but I realised how out of character Loki was being, so it was scrapped.

The stillness doesn't help stop thoughts crossing through my mind like weather ponies in the sky on Winter Wrap up day. Small fingers of light spread through the cracks of my bedroom door, daring to trek into the pitch black room.

My bed feels cold and sweaty. It must be well past eleven o'clock.
All four of my hooves are tucked under the thick quilt blanket. I'm scared that if I left them out in the open, some ghoul could reach over my bed and grab one.

I've been trying to sleep for hours, but it feels almost impossible to fall into a slumber now, especially when I can hear Loki whimpering in the room next to me.

I know it's him. He's done it many times before.

Loki's breaths are shallow and quick, whimpers quiet and hushed. He obviously doesn't want to get noticed. At least he's not a loud, rubber band lipped crier like me, or he'd've woken up the whole castle.

The guy never opens up to anyone, and barely to himself when he's alone. It's good that he can let his feelings go when he thinks nopony can hear.

But I can.

Normally I wait for it to pass. What else am I supposed to do?

•••

7. Rosie's Feelings

This was supposed to be a speech leading up to "How I Met Your Unicorn" (a title parody of How I Met Your Mother). Rosie monologues about how much Loki is better than her. It felt a bit awkward, and, in the end, (you will always kneel) I changed it.
Enjoy.

..."We haven't finished 'Goodnight Mister Tom'. And I can't read without you."

"Then don't read it, just leave," his tone sharpens.

"But I'm not ready to leave," I answer.

"Rosie-" Loki says, almost like a warning.

"I'm not just going to desert you, okay?" I growl.

"Just... go."

"I said no," I sit up, sticking my chin out.

Loki sighs, still on his side, "You are impossible, Rosie Burrito."

"Thank you," I smile, "But I still don't get it... why won't you tell me?"

"I do what I want," he smirks, sitting up as well, "I have already said I do not wish to discuss this."

"Okay, Loke," I say finally, reaching over to the book and opening to the page with the folded corner that we were on before, "You don't have to do or say anything you don't want to. I was just wondering what a mom is like and all. Since... you know, I don't know."
I rest my elbows on the two pages, glancing over the words, "And anyway, what would you even care? I have no idea what I was thinking. I don't even know myself, why should I even try to know you?"
I flap my small wings once, giving them a disappointed gaze. "You deserve someone so much better," I mumble.

I sigh, deciding not to talk anymore, since Loki is looking at me funny. I'm probably the most annoying little shit he's ever met. I pretend I'm reading in my head, like other ponies can do, when I'm actually just staring at the same word over and over.

Loki stands up, walks over his bench and sits down on it, still watching me.

"Why did you come here?" He asks.

"It's a long story," I sigh.

"I'm listening."

"Well," I close the book, "It all started earlier this afternoon when I was lazing about and doing nothing in my room-"

"I want to hear your story," he says out of the blue.

"I was just about to start it-"

"No, not that story, your story."

I raise an eyebrow. "Are you sure you actually care enough?"

He stands up, "Would I be asking if I didn't?"

"I..." I put a hoof up, thinking I know the answer, "... Don't know?"

"Eheeeh heh," Loki chuckles.

"It's blurry in some parts," I reply, "And I don't have all the answers to some questions you might ask about it."

"Nobody has all the answers," Loki replies, sitting down in front of me, "Tell me as much or as little as you like."

A small corner of my mouth lifts as I glance away, thinking about how much I actually want to say.
I exhale a breath. "Okay," I sigh.

And then I tell him everything.

8. Loki Being Brutally Honest

This was supposed to happen in the same chapter as the last reject, when Loki tells Rosie a little too much and blames himself for Frigga's death. Any sane person would probably get the wrong idea.
Also, Roki argues about who's the bigger monster.

"No..."
"I'm the monster," I say firmly, putting my hooves on my chest to show my seriousness.

"No," he almost whimpers, still not looking at me, "No, you don't understand, I've done terrible things... I..."

"Well," I look up at him matter of factly, "I'm sure somepony's done something worse than you-"

"You don't understand," he repeats, "I am the reason Frigga is DEAD!"

I freeze.

"You've got to be shitting me..." I breathe, letting out a forced chuckle in the hopes that he's just doing a sick and twisted prank on me or something.

Now he decides to look at me, and the gaze hits me. Those eyes are full of hurt... of sadness. Loki shakes his head a little.

"I killed her," he says painfully under his breath, "It's... it's all my fault..."

•••

Well, that was mildly depressing... you can see why I cut it. (Give you a hint... I don't make characters say random things or react to certain things in an unreasonable way for them... most of the time.)

9. The History of Doorknobs

Rosie is too open in this. I swear to the gods.
I didn't want the Roki relationship to go too fast, 'cuz this was written when Moona the crazy unicorn OC was still important (younger than chapter 10).
So I spent about 30 chapters figuring out how she was gonna run into his room crying. #Talent

I sigh and rest my head on my hoof, already half asleep.

These two have been at it for hours, suggesting so many freakin' books. How and where did the pony who invented all those books get the time to finish inventing them? Or maybe books are made by fairy sprites or breezies...

"Rosie! Are you even listening?" Twilight snaps.

I jolt and look at her. "Huh... what?" I murmur.

"The history of doorknobs, have you read it?" She repeats. I blink slowly. "I'll take that as a no."

"Oh Celestia, what books have you read?" Moona asks, she's obviously fed up as she folds her arms.

I stare at her blankly. "Uh... lots! Just... I can't remember," I lie.

Moona rolls her eyes and whispers to Twilight, "How is she even related to you?"

I don't think she thought I heard it, but I did. It pierces my heart. First off, I hate being compared to Twilight. Because she always ends up looking better than me.
Second, Twilight is like, a bajillion times better at everything. I've had wings longer than she has, and she can fly better than me!

"Hey!" I half shout. "Just because I have small wings, can't fly, occasionally bump into things, have a pudding fetish, don't read and don't have a cutie mark doesn't mean..." I trail off, on the verge of tears. Because guess what? I just realised I'm a complete failure.
I only have two friends, one who doesn't like me. Twilight's got like, seven. My bottom lip wobbles. Moona's face softens as she steps forward.

"... I... I didn't mean for you to hear that... I just got a little annoyed," she starts, but I interrupt her.

"It's fine," I sigh and grab one really big book that I had my eye on for a while. It's half the size of me and almost twice as heavy (must be the bible XD), but I manage to carry it by flapping my wings hard with the book in my arms. I pile a few more random ones on top of that, because I'm so stupid that I can't read. "I... think I'm just gonna go," I murmur as I leave and exit the doors. Moona stands there with Twilight and a guilty expression on her face.

I make my way down the halls and into Loki's room. "Loki?" I mumble as I poke my head in through the large doors.

Loki is sound asleep in his cell underneath the bench. It seems like his usual spot now. This time, however, I'm not tempted to watch him, or wake him up. Instead, I just fly in quietly and decide to sit in the corner and try to read. Maybe then, at least, I could impress Loki.

I know Moona didn't mean to hurt me, it was my fault she was pissed off in the first place. But I can't get those words out of my head, not just the ones Moona said.
What the bullies used to say. Teasing me because I have undersized wings. Calling me chicken because I couldn't fly.
What I thought I'd gotten over, but in reality I just kept pushing it down and tried to bury it in pudding.

As I begin to settle myself down in the corner, the books are just too heavy. My forelegs shake and wobble until I drop everything with a loud *BANG*
I put my hooves over my snout and stare at the mess I have created as Loki wakes up with a jump. This time, however, he knows better than to bump his head.

Tear well up in my eyes as Loki glares at me. "What do you think you're doing?" He scolds, sitting on the bench.

I let out a cry and break down then and there. "I can't do anything right!" I whimper loudly, sitting on the floor as a tear runs down my cheek. Loki furrows his eyebrows and looks at me. I sniffle and rub my eyes quickly, folding my arms and looking away.

"Now you know that's not true," he says, his voice smooth.

"I... I wanted to get you a book so you would be happy," I say slowly, trying not to cry so I wouldn't embarrass myself further. It's bad enough that Loki has to put up with me already, I don't want him getting even more ticked at me.

•••

Anyways, that's it, lol.

Most of the stuff was just too out of character on Loki's part, and too sad, or too irrelevant.

Hope you had fun reading my fabulous book, as I did writing it!
