Soulmate AU

Kurt was born with a dark handprint over his eyes that made him nervous. Everyone was born with a mark on their bodies that show where the first place their soulmate is going to touch them is, and Kurt hated that his mark was over his eyes. It made him think that maybe his soulmate was planning on kidnapping him, or hurting him somehow, and the idea of somebody taking away his vision, forcing him to be vulnerable as a first form of contact, made him almost scared to meet his soulmate.

Logan was born with a dark mark over the entirety of the palm of his right hand, which actually wasn't uncommon. A lot of people had marks on their hands, because most of the time, when you first touch someone, it's with your hand. Logan honestly wasn't interested in soulmates, not really believing in love in general, and he never made an effort to actually find his soulmate. Though any time he saw someone with a handprint somewhere on their body, there was a small moment where he wondered if maybe that person was his soulmate, but the feeling passed quickly.

Logan thought that, whatever soulmate he did have, had been dead for a long, long time, and by time Kurt had been rescued from the munich circles, he honestly wished that he was dead. Kurt didn't trust anyone when he first got taken back to the X Mansion, and he rarely let anyone near him. Anytime anyone took one step towards him, he took one step back. But eventually he let the X-Men into his life, and he became close friends with them.

Kurt became closer with Logan than any of the other's though. Logan was kind of scary at first, but he turned out to be really nice, and Kurt really appreciated how honest and blunt Logan was. So Kurt and Logan hung out a lot. They ate most meals together, worked together to figure out how to work the tv so they could watch movies, and sometimes they even just sat somewhere quietly doing their own thing near each other.

Kurt was growing more and more fond of Logan, and he wasn't afraid of Logan. Kurt wouldn't flinch when when Logan motioned with his hands around him, he wouldn't step away when Logan came near him, he would accept snacks and drinks from Logan without thinking about it, and he even let himself purr lightly around Logan when he was happy.

Then one day Kurt and Logan were both in the kitchen, getting snacks, when there was a knock on the kitchen door.

"Why are you knocking, the kitchen is common space?" Logan called out, not knowing who was knocking, but confused nonetheless.

"There was....an accident of sorts while Jean and I were out training. I just need to make sure Kitty isn't in there." Scott replied from outside the kitching. Kurt scrunched up his brows in confusion, but Logan was more curios than confused.

"Kitty's out with Ororo right now." Logan answered Scott, then Scott came into the room, completely naked, and blushing like crazy. Logan very quickly moved to put his right hand over Kurt's eyes without even thinking about it.

A feeling of electricity shooting through his body took over Logan, and made both him and Kurt gasp loudly. Logan pulled his hand away from Kurt's face when Scott left the room, and looked up at Kurt in shock. Kurt was staring wide eyed at the ground, completely silent. Just when Logan opened his mouth to say something, Jean came into the kitchen laughing hysterically.

"Did you guys see Scott?" She asked through her giggles.

"Yeah we did. What happened?" Logan asked, trying to pretend like he didn't just find out that his best friend is his soulmate.

"He shot his lazors at me, and I used my abilities to push them away from me and towards him instead, but then I sneezed and accidently made the lazors disintegrate his clothes." Jean laughed, leaving the room to go find Scott, leaving Logan and Kurt alone again.

"Are you ok?" Logan asked Kurt, who was still staring at the ground.

"I always thought that whoever it was that was just going to randomly cover my eyes was a bad person who was going to want to hurt me." Kurt explained quietly, making Logan worry that Kurt was afraid, but then Kurt looked up at Logan and smiled at him. "I'm glad that's not the case. Are you ok?"

"I'm good. I always thought that my soulmate probably died centuries ago. I'm glad to find out that that's not the case."

"I am too." Kurt gently placed a hand on Logan's shoulder, and Logan responded by pulling Kurt into a hug.

The two men wouldn't start dating right way just because they were soulmates, but it was inevitable that the marks did bring them closer. And they would start dating, and even get married eventually, but they both thought that, for the time being, they were more than happy just watching movies, eating food, and just sitting in silence together.
